I was referred to trophy room barber shop by my girlfriend's co-workers when I moved to Atlanta. I was a little put off by having to make a reservation, so I got hair cuts at a couple of other places that did walk-in service before I finally have them a try, and boy am I happy I did. Any inconvenience related to having to schedule an appointment, is so much better than waiting an indeterminate amount of time for your turn in the chair. Rolando, and everyone else there are great. I can't tell you how many "barbers" I've been to that have no idea how to cut hair, I lived in LA and I lived in NYC, and couldn't find one that made my hair look the way I wanted. I could go on and on about my search for a *consistently* awesome barber shop, but the end result is that my search has ended here and I'm very happy I made the drive. Like anything in the city, if you don't live in this neighborhood, it can take a while to get here with any traffic....but it's worth it. No hipster microbrewery posing as a barber shop, this is a relatively small barber shop with 3-4 chairs total. This is my barber of choice until I either retire and move to another state or he decides to retire and move off. They stay booked up months out so you'll want to make an appt ASAP. read more

I've lived in several cities and always look for a respectable barbershop where I can develop a relationship with the person cutting my hair and get to the point where I walk in and no longer have to describe the haircut I'm looking for - Rolando achieved that after 1 visit! Rolando treats being a barber as a true profession - he takes pride in his work and seeks to create satisfied, return customers who he can develop a relationship with for years to come. After reading so many great reviews and comparing to other shops around this area, I had to give the TRBS a try. I had to drive about 45 mins, bc I live OTP, but it was worth the drive. Everyone was very welcoming. Rolando, the owner, is very nice. I got my haircut with Leigh, and she was very pleasant and friendly. She did an awesome job, even though she had to work around the "chopping" my last barber had done with my hair. I came out with an awesome haircut. This place works off appointments, so make sure you visit their website to set it up. Because of this, the barbers are NOT rushed and they cater to your hair needs. The ambient there is very nice, relaxed, and you feel like your hanging out with people you've known for a while. I will definitely return and get my haircut and beard trimmings here. The Trophy Room should be on your short list for spots to get your fresh cut. Online reservations means no waiting, no guessing, and confidence in scheduling your day. I run with Leigh because I picked her first, and she's always done a great job (so no reason to jump around). I wasn't particular in the past, but ever since hitting the Trophy Room, I get far more compliments from the Mrs and others. The way most businesses should be run -- hip enough to make you look forward to it, but not a lot of unnecessary extras to fold themselves into the bill. I'll preface this review by saying this: I'm tough on barbers. Growing up in New York, the same little old Italian man cut my hair for as long as I can remember and did a damn good job. Within 3 months of moving to Atlanta, I had tried 4 different shops and subsequently given them the proverbial ax. Enter: Rolando. In my opinion, you are an idiot to get your hair cut anywhere else in Atlanta. Rolando does a fade as well as any barber whose chair I've ever sat in. The shop is immaculate and well-appointed, his prices are fair and the service is exemplary. His suggestions are always on-point and he'll line you up with a straight razor. I trust his judgement with my hair above all others and that trust is not easily won. Simply put, there isn't a better shop in Atlanta. Six months after finding Rolando's Trophy Room, I can happily report that he and his shop continue to get everything right. His appointment system works great. He's occasionally booked a day in advance, but I never have had a problem getting in within a couple days. Put a day of advance thought into it, and you'll be in good shape. Even now, with a full appointment book, I'm getting in the chair at my scheduled time and am on my way in short order. I appreciate that I'm in and out when I expect to be, and not spending countless hours getting a simple haircut. The shop's online appointment system doesn't spam my email with junk. I get an appointment confirmation, a reminder the day before, and an emailed receipt. Clean, simple, effective, just like the rest of the shop. The cuts continue to be exactly what I'm looking for, no muss, fuss, or hassle. Parking is a breeze, the shop is clean, and has comfy chairs for the rare instance when you might wait a few minutes for the preceding cut to finish. Trophy Room is STILL my #1 (and only) choice to get my hair cut in Atlanta. If you're looking for a non-pretentious place to get yours cut, I highly recommend this shop. Hard to find, I've been looking for a while since my barber moved further up into Alpharetta. Leigh is great.
