In this neighborhood, $24 for a men's cut (which includes a shampoo) is very reasonable. I have gotten cuts from multiple stylists here including Ayeshah (the owner, I believe) and Neka, and they all do a great job. This place's location in the Midtown Promenade shopping center makes parking a cinch. Finally, I rarely have issues getting an appointment when I need one even when booking last minute. Importantly, the staff here take the appropriate precautions for Covid-19. Haircuts are appointment only and patrons must have their temperature checked before sitting in the stylist's chair. All staff wore masks and/or face shields during the two cuts I've gotten here since the pandemic started, and I was even requested to wash my hands prior to my most recent appointment. I am so pleased with the haircut I got at Axiom. I walked in shortly after they opened and made an appointment for the afternoon. The staff were friendly and took great care of me. The Asian guy did my hair cut. I got 2 abrupt layers, one shorter at my chin and one longer at shoulder. There are some shorter layers in the back. The weight of hair was not distributed well and the ends fly up or curl up all the time. The left and right hand side are not even. I just got the worst hair cut ever at Axiom. The guy used shears only on my head and took off four inches of curls. I said trim it up and take off one inch. Hey. Don't believe me? Kely, the stylist, did a good job with the haircut. Overall I am happy with how my hair looks after the hair cut. However she is fairly aggressive when she cuts your hair. She presses down hard with the trimmers, so hard that my neck has a peeling/burning sensation. To position your head, she also grabs and holds your head really hard. I found myself in Atlanta on business in desperate need of a haircut. Having gone to the same barber for 10 years I was a bit nervous. The Yelp reviews were good so I became brave and booked an appointment online. When I got to Axiom there was a gentleman coming down the stairs with a very good haircut. I asked and he pointed me up the stairs and said David had just cut his hair. Good so far! I walked in 10 minutes early and was greeted immediately. Khalif, my barber hadn't arrived yet but a few people were waiting and David (I assume) was starting a cut. Lots of talking and laughing with a real pleasant vibe. Getter better! Khalif walked in and put his stuff away and greeted me warmly. We made a bit of small talk but I could see him looking at my hair sizing up the job ahead. (I was a bit shaggy) He asked me the standard questions and got to work. He finished in less than 15 minutes and the results were spectacular. I first came to Axiom in 2017 after moving into the city for the first time. I originally got my hair cut in Snellville and didn't want to drive all the way back there every month for a haircut but also didn't want to pay a ton at the pricier salons in Atlanta. 5 years later, I'm still a regular here. The vibe in here is very welcoming and relaxed. I also like the fact that you don't have to worry about getting a specific stylist because all of them are great at what they do (at this point, I think I've had a cut from every person that works there). This place is a godsend! It's right off the beltline, very reasonably priced, and the quality is excellent! What sets this one apart from the other barbershops in Atlanta, is the customer service. It's the little things that make me happy, I can set up an appointment in advance online so I don't end up waiting, I'm welcomed like an old friend every time I come, when the haircut is done I get my hair shampooed at no extra cost (aka free scalp massage) and they always offer to shave my neck. It saddens me to write this because I was sincerely hoping that my years long quest to find someone to cut my hair had ended. Unfortunately, my quest continues and I'm to the point where I'd pay $100 every month if it meant that I'd have a descent, blended haircut that didn't embarrass me. In December I went to Helmet for a haircut and left nearly crying because the person butchered to the point that I had to resort to several hair products just to get it all to stay down. If you've known me a while, you'd know that spiked hair had been part of my trademark and would normally view not staying flat as a positive thing. For the last few months I've been sporting a longer look that is parted to one side. Anyway... Helmet thought I'd look better if the sides were short without realizing that my hair is so straight that the top won't lay onto the sides if they aren't blended. I pouted for a while and then my friend Kirsten referred me to David at Axiom because she started sending her boyfriend here (he's Indian and has similarly straight, thick hair). He didn't care about it looking great, but the $20 price had him on board from the beginning and I was just glad to get a referral with hair I could see before going. My first visit was in December and David immediately identified that my hair wasn't properly blended. His actual name is Phuc Bui (pronounced phuck boy) and said my hair was like Asian hair, so I was immediately at ease and he had it blended and largely on the way to full correction in about 30 minutes. Today I went back to continue our work. I was 20 minutes late for my appointment because 10th & Juniper was closed because of a gas leak. Regardless, I was late and at one point offered to pay for a second haircut or come back in case finishing my haircut was impacting the rest of his schedule. David insisted it wasn't about time, but apparently thought he was done after using clippers around the bottom for a few minutes and then using thinning shears on the top. During this visit he told me that he was going to use the clippers to make the lower portions short and then shears to finish off everything else. I repeated this back to him and he acted like I was making weird last minute demands. Ultimately he couldn't/wouldn't finish and told me not to pay since I was unhappy. Here's the thing - I wanted to pay and I am still willing to pay. I came in with my hair styled the way I want to wear it and just need someone to advise me about how to achieve it. read more

Always enjoy my experience here. Neka has been cutting my hair for a while. She's great with clippers and scissors. What sets Neka apart is her detail. I have three crowns and my hair pattern is different in the back. Often it will get cut too short or not short enough in places and the result is spiky strands. I got a great basic men's cut from Kelly. She was very kind and knew exactly what I was looking for. I called about thirty minutes ahead for an appointment, but probably could have walked in. At only $20 plus tip, this was an excellent deal and I plan to come back for my next cut. The yelp directions aren't the best. I actually look forward to getting my haircut. Besides giving the best haircuts, Ayesha and the staff are such a fun and pleasant group. She cut a total of 18" inches of her hair in which she braided for us to donate. Our experience was warming, welcome, fast, affordable and truly a life changing experience for my mom. I had never seen her so happy with a cut before and it was very versatile. A quick wash and dry after the cut and my mom's hair felt voluminous and flowing as she rocked an above the shoulder cut.
