The business had no power but I was able to see Merna at the business and she went out of her way to call the location on 79th street to have them fill my catering order. Un-professional!! to say the least, ordered Jerk Chicken Alfred- received a bowl of pasta with a few thin strips of chicken and no Jerk sauce. When I had to return to ask for the sauce.. they said "There's Sauce on it" I replied that no there wasn't and was informed that I'd have to wait 10-15 min for them to make more. First of all.... The smell lured me in! It smells like outdoor cooking on a tropical island. Shrimp jerk tacos, a side of well flavored greens with a bit of heat and potatoes hit the spot but of course I had to try their red beans and beef empanada too and it definitely did not disappoint. I'm glad we didn't order ahead and got to sit there because it felt and smelled like I was in my Ma's kitchen waiting for her to finish cooking. The young but mature gentleman that took our order was both courteous and patient and he even laughed at my friend's dad jokes so that's an extra bonus. My experience began with the customer service, Jasmyn was helpful and very polite. Although she couldn't take my payment over the phone she and Gerald assured me that they would have my catering order ready. They called me the next morning to confirm my order and told me the exact time it would be ready. We ordered their jerk, curry and brown stew chicken. All were Delicious!!! I ordered a combo w chicken & salmon, mixed greens & garlic potatoes as a side. The macaroni was dry & bland. The garlic potatoes were watery mash potatoes and the salmon was fishy & sweet. The chicken was extremely OLD & dried out. I didnt receive my mixed greens. I also called the store to see how we could rectify it, the guy who answered the phone said the chicken was made fresh and that they only give out old chicken in the middle of the week. read more

A very grouchy man answered the phone when my husband called to place an order for one white jerk chicken lunch special w/plantains and mixed greens. When my husband arrived, this man was still grouchy AND was not wearing a mask (the other staff member had a mask on). When we unwrapped the order at home, there were no plantains.
