I told the manager I needed 6 guys and a tractor trailer or three trucks. He sent me three guys with a 26ft truck. I have a piano, 1,000 books, living room, dining room, kitchen, three bedrooms, an office, 30 heavy bookcases, patio furniture. The three guys took 8 hours and two trips to move 1/2 my things. They didn't move beds or tables, not all the bookcases, though they moved living room couches and most of the books and a bunch of chairs and a heavy office desk with hutch. The movers were careful and didn't drop or bump anything, but I really wish they'd moved the beds. The pmanager did not call back to schedule a day to complete the move, so now I'm searching for another company and team. read more

I strongly DO NOT recommend Tropic Moving. The unprofessionalism from start to finish was appalling. What is even more disappointing is the lack of response by the owner, Dan and refusal to hold his movers accountable. At our sold property, two of the movers stood around chatting off and on the entire time. My husband observed them chatting in the back of the truck for over 20 minutes. This continued at our new home to the point I finally called Dan to complain. In addition, they were bringing boxes into the house that were marked for the garage. Marked kitchen boxes were in bedrooms. He did not apologize for their behavior. He apparently did call to urge them to focus because they did step up the pace. However, one of our reasons for hiring movers was due to my husband being a senior and both of us recovering from back surgery. I had to be on my feet the entire day making sure they were doing what they were paid to do. As a result, I filed a claim to refund two hours of the extensive time over the estimate (3 hours). My estimate was $1100-1200 and the final bill was $1585. This claim was denied. Both of my beds were damaged. The spare bed was broken as one of the movers attempted to take this very heavy, king bed apart. The leg was broken off. My platform bed was missing the dowel rods since they lost them. I have two more damaged items but found them after their 7 day claim's period. A handicapped shower chair was in the garage storage and the other was a coffee table that we found broken when moving to a new location in our home. My spare bedroom door and facing were also damaged. Six damaged items and three sub par movers who spent a lot of time socializing. Not to mention the lack of care in taking apart and putting back together our furniture. In all fairness, the beds, door and door facing were repaired by their furniture repair man. However, had the crew been more careful none of these items would have needed repairing. I also still have two more damaged items that will not be repaired or replaced. In addition, a box of expensive garage organizing units is missing. This claim was also denied. As the owner of the business, he should have done the right thing and compensated us for the lost time. He also underestimated the move and our family and friends took six truck loads before the movers came. The truck still had items that wouldn't fit in the truck. Had we not moved six truck loads ahead of time we would not have vacated our sold property on time. We actually required much less to be moved than at the time of Dan's estimate. Word of mouth is everything in business. I would not recommend this company to scoot a piece of furniture across the floor. read more

These guys were quick and efficient and protected all my furniture. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. They started by coming a few days before our move to give an estimate and see what materials were needed for packing. They damaged freezers and a refrigerator and a $6500, 1864 bookcase while they were moving them, and when it was brought their attention, they didn't care. Other antique furniture was damaged too, furniture and boxes were left out in the rain and a worker was very disrespectful and I had to be remind to get to work as he was taking too many "truck breaks", they charged $120 travel time from Palm Bay to Merritt Island at their full rate. Now I must rent a truck to finish with the move. I don't like paying somebody for damaging my stuff, leaving it in the rain and then being disrespected, you would think I worked for THEM and I am 78 with a pace maker!! I will never use them again, buyer beware!!! read more

We ended up having $1000s of dollars worth of damage because items were not packed properly, and what does Tropic Moving tell us? It's OUR Fault for not packing them correctly for them to move them! Ridiculous! Would never recommend this company for anyone! They did not cover any of the damages and are not taking any responsibility. read more

USE TROPIS'S MOVING CO.! You'll regret it if you miss using Tropic's Moving Company in Brevard County FL. I read one bad review so almost didn't call, that would have been a huge mistake! Tropic's turned a nightmare move into the best. Dan, the owner is an honest good person with ethic's. His team, 4 altogether, packed and wrapped our furniture with such care. Big heavy antiques plus brand new couches, beds, TV's, large Dining Tables w chairs. They padded the entrance door so no scratches and dents. Everything was moved into storage and is wrapped so well it's protected until next move. A 2000 sf home moved perfectly in 6 hrs! We packed all of the small things & clothes. They even moved our sm 5x10 unit into 10x20 within that time! For the quality and care plus professionalism and dependability Dan's price can't be beat. Sure you'll get lower estimates, pray they show up, and hope your items get moved but don't count on all items making it there and being protected.
