I love an establishment with a tropical vibe! Trops seems as big as Narwhal's, but more open. Not as busy, or at least it was not when I visited late on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered a Redbird and a jungle juice. The bartender was nice enough to offer to give me a blend of these 2 flavors I liked. And first she let me sample them. And... here is perhaps the best part... $7 for the smallest cup! Seems like a good price. Seating indoors and in the back. Beautiful mural on the wall outside. This place is incredible I've been coming for a couple years now and my best suggestion is to get there around 5 PM so you can get your drinks without a long line. They frequently have shot girls or someone walking around. I like that because then I get to try the drinks without having to purchase a whole cup. i've never had a bad drink here or a slushy. They always have tons of events going on, a stage for shows, and it is a large bar with an inside and outside option that has a vintage garage door that opens up into the inside. It was hot, fresh, and ready to go quickly! It was absolutely delicious! As someone who does not tolerate heat well, I enjoyed this. I recommend skipping the sauce on the side if you don't tolerate heat well either. I also ordered a side of elote corn in a small dish. It was rich and creamy with the right amount of spices and cheese (most likely chihuahua or a similar style of cheese). As for my drink, I ordered the Tiger Paw tropical slush. It had 151 Rum, Peach Schnapps, orange juice and pineapple juice. It was fruity, juicy and refreshing! It was blended extremely well and the alcohol was well spread throughout. The vibe at Trops is very laid back. It's the perfect place to cool off. They have so many flavors of slushies on their menu. What made this adventure even better was getting to mix some of the flavors together. I personally mixed a raspberry based drink with a lemonade drink. The combo was so refreshing! What I like most about drinks at Trops is that they are sweet without being overly sugary. Sometimes cocktails can leave you feeling not so great in the morning, but they have perfected the recipe here! During the pandemic, it appears they are using their main entrance on Manchester to operate their curbside pickup. There were chalk arrows to direct our group to the alley behind the building. In the middle of a massive (and poorly painted) blue wall there was a door to enter the patio. I'm guessing it's typically used as an emergency exit, but serves as the establishment's main entrance now. So don't fear, although it looks like Trops is closed from the street, you can still cool off all weekend long. read more

It was $5 for a cup that I'm guessing was 10 ounces (but I'm also not great in guessing ounce sizes so don't take my word for it). The silver bullet was just okay. I could still taste the alcohol. I was expecting not to since it's a frozen, fruity drink. These drinks are definitely drinks you need to babysit. Not because they will intoxicate you quickly, but because they are so cold! I came here last Saturday with a friend and the place was jumping! Sadly because of the rain, the patio wasn't open, but even still, the place is huge with lots of seating. The variety of slushies here is great, just like the one in COMO. You can also mix the flavors to make your own boozy delight. The prices aren't bad either. The small is $5 and is definitely enough. The slushees range from sweet and fruity, to sweet and almondy/buttery. I had a butter beer slushee, and was very pleased as someone who doesn't like anything too sweet. The bartender suggested the shot because it was one of the only smoothies that didn't have a solid base liquor. I loved the suggestion and went with some good old fashioned American Honey Whiskey. Super sweet and delish, as expected. I definitely could only have one because it was rich and heavy, but they have other lighter flavors if you're planing on having a couple. I thought the prices were super reasonable, overall. I was also pleased to know that they have beer! Draft and bottle... local craft beers and domestics. That was a nice surprise. It's also really convenient that Guerrilla Street Food has you covered if you get a food craving. This time, I got the Flying Pig. I honestly can't see myself getting anything else. I tried my friend's grilled cheese, it was so good, but my dish was FIRE. Roasted pork shoulder, pulled and sauced with sriracha, hoisin, and calamansi, topped with an egg, sesame seeds jasmine rice, and scallions. 5 for you, Glen Coco! I am absolutely obsessed with 'Trops.' Tiger Paw is my go to and I love how big of a variety they have for those who's taste buds are across the board! I usually get their small to start because of how strong they are (who's complaining?!). The best part of all is that they have this beautiful huge patio that feels completely separate from their actual building and it is so fun just to head over with a group of friends and chill outside. They are priced super well and I would say they are the top place in St. Louis for adult slushees and their competitors have a lot of work to do to catch up! Very disappointed with my experience tonight. I have always came with my friends every year due to this once being our favorite spot. 3 of us were going to drink 1 of our friends was not due to her expecting. WE handed the woman at the bar our 3 id's. I asked her for a flight she went off saying they didn't have cups for flights and they weren't offering it. And never offered us other options. We wanted to order food as well the woman that was taking our order had an attitude and told us to order our food with the guy next to her and was being very rude from the moment we wanted to look at the menu. She then proceeded to say we could not stay because it was passed 9pm and because one of our friends was not going to drink. She ASSUMED she was underage when not once was that even the case. Again she's expecting so she was not going to drink. As we proceed to decide we're going to leave my friend canceled her order and she had an attitude and I told her I'm disappointed in the customer service I'm receiving and I was leaving when a man in a dress was harassing me infront of everyone clapping and punching his hand and going off on me telling me to leave due to me being rude and telling me to get off of his f****** pride stage and I not once was rude. As he was insulting me I proceeded to tell him it breaks my heart the service I am receiving today. I told him I don't know what his or her issue is but that they both need some help. He then proceeded to harass me when I not one insulted either one nor cursed them out. From being my favorite place to becoming my worst nightmare.
