I don't get down to Cherokee Street that much so a lot of new places come and go without me knowing about it. 'ssippi is a new(ish) wine bar set towards the western end of the collection of bars, restaurants, and shops that are the heart of the strip. The inside has a large wrap about bar and some limited seating. There is a very good selection of wine and mixed drinks and an okay selection of beer. The prices are reasonable. There is a very limited food menu which largely consists of snacks rather than proper entrees. So this is a great pre/post drink spot rather than somewhere you would spend an evening. The bartenders were fine. Nothing stood out either in a good or bad way. The mixed drink my wife had was very good. The orange wine I had was good, a bit on the dry side but overall no complaints from either of us. Without a highlight of the spot is the large patio. It is mostly taken up by large bench style seating. So you have to be okay sitting next to strangers. I actually enjoy these types of settings and I ended up chatting up the group to our right. There are a couple tables but they are few and far between. There are some overhead canopies and lights, and there was a nice vibe and energy. I was there and it was crowded. I really enjoyed it. Just two additional things to note. The bathroom line was very long. It must only be one stall. The entire time I was there it was a dozen people deep. The only other downside is that my wife and I felt old. The vibe on a late(ish) Saturday night was mainly 20 year olds. If I was in grad school or a recent graduate I would absolutely adore this place. Even if your 30s this probably is a good vibe. This place was another spot I took my friend who was visiting. This is near Cherokee Street and parking is limited to street parking. This place is truly a hidden gem and very Instagrammable! Ssippi is an underrated gem. The first thing you notice about this bar is the decor and ambience. It's modern but cozy with mood lighting appropriate for a deep convo with friends (which is my primary activity here. Then, the service: the bartenders are kind, patient, and happy to help you pick out the right drink for you, which is important at a natural wine bar where the wines don't sound all that familiar. I also love that they have fun cocktails and wine spritzers for those that aren't feeling or aren't yet comfortable with natural wine spritzers. Went here Friday afternoon with a friend. The place was really cute and quaint. Only complaint was that it was cold in there! The person at the bar was super helpful in helping me and my friend decide what we wanted to drink. I had 2 different glasses of red wine, wish I could remember what they were but both were good. My hubs and I went last night, and I'd highly recommend. It's a younger crowd (i.e., 20s and 30s folks), but even in our (VERY EARLY ) 40s, we felt totally at home. This was primarily due to the women behind the bar, Kathleen and Jordan. Greeted everyone with a smile, kind as the day is long, never once appearing overwhelmed or out of their element, and just damn good at what they do--these young women MADE the experience. The interior is adorable, full of red neon from the exterior sign, and the aesthetic and decor are gorgeous and very tastefully done. Even the bathroom was spotlessly clean and beautiful, despite a good crowd our back in their huge patio area. The wine and beer-on-tap assortment were quite good and very reasonably priced--Delirium Tremens on tap!--and the snacks were the most pleasant surprise. Get the Union Loafers bread, served warm with Partanna olive oil and balsamic vinegar. At $6, it was a bargain and just delightful. You gotta check this place out! read more

I sat there for over 20 min without anyone approaching me for me to order a drink. My friends then finished their glass of wine and nobody approached them as well.
