First time coming here. We ordered Thai chicken and buffalo chicken wraps replaced with plant based protein and two bags of side chips and Baja mama smoothie. To make a quick conclusion, plant based protein was quite bad. We didn't like it at all and we couldn't finish it although we were starving but what saved us was Baja mama smoothie! In comparison to wraps, it was very good! I honestly think that they should work on plant based protein to make it more delicious (I know they can do it cuz other places do it). Pretty decent food that's seems healthly. Service not so great. Staff if mostly unfriendly and mostly helpless. Inside is normally pretty clean. Not too much space to dine-in. So it's great for a healthier option, but service wise it's sub par. Of course, I've never actually looked up the nutritional value of the items sold - I could be in for a shock. read more

I've never had a bad experience here. The staff seem pretty young but are all very respectful and work hard to get orders out quick. They're always kind and smiling when I go. The smoothies are delicious! I go here for lunch sometimes, but I rarely dine in. There is plenty of seating. But they definitely get busy during the lunch rush. My go to order is the smoothie + flatbread combo. I get the Mango Magic and Chicken pesto flatbread (YUM). It's fruity, refreshing & filling but not too heavy. read more

Sunrise Sunset is my favorite!! SUCH an incredibly refreshing smoothie (especially if you are sporting a wicked hangover). This is my go-to place for a pick me up when I'm too lazy to make my own smoothie. My orders have always arrived on time and COLD! You are able to add or remove any ingredients and for the size and freshness of the items, it is of great value. I was skeptical of their food at first coming from a smoothie joint, but I'd say it is just as good as your next sandwich shop!! I've gotten the Baja chicken and veggie wrap. Happy Monday...why do I call out Monday for this review? Monday's can be tough to bridge from the weekend into work. I like to hit tropical smoothie on Monday's to take a mini vacation before work. The happy and uplifting music paired with the refreshing smoothies and beach themed artwork is what brings this whole tropical journey together. I love that you can get a smoothie with no added sugar. Many places have turbinado in everything. My "go to" smoothie is the detox Green Island which is soooo refreshing and hydrating. The sugar is naturally from the fruit. The other pro here is the price point. At the other "unnamed smoothie" establishments, you could walk out after everything is said and done, with a $10-15 SMOOTHIE!!! If I am paying $15, it better have a shot of something stronger than Spirulina. The price point here, even with add on supplements and fruit, was still under $8 w/ tax. I usually add strawberries and Matcha. The only reason I gave 4 vs 5 stars is they removed matcha from their menu last week which was a bummer. They do have an energizer supplement but for those that know and love matcha, there really is no replacement. You also do NOT want to sleep on the food. They have a wonderful peanut butter, banana, granola flatbread that is served warm with a drizzle of honey. Trust me...it works. TiPS: Download their app, join the reward program, and order online ahead so your order is waiting for you (they make your smoothie and keep it in a freezer until you arrive). On 11/11/2020, I came here for the first time while waiting on my food from next door (Freddy's). I ordered a pomegranate smoothie. The smoothie was great. But really smoothies are pretty hard to mess up, right? The smoothie I purchased came in at $6.00 plus tax. Even though it's a smoothie place, I absolutely did not come here for them. Way too much sugar in each smoothie. I actually came for a wrap. When I walked in, there was only one other person there waiting for their order. I stood three feet from the counter looking up at the menu. The girl at the register asked if she could help me. Told her, No, not until I decide what I want. Selected the Thai chicken wrap. Oh no, it comes with a side and girl at register spoke the choices too fast. So I turned it around and asked her which has the least sugar in it. Kale and apple salad, okay give me that. Less than eight dollars, sounds like a good deal. Step to the side while I waited. Looks like a two person operation one in back cooking and the girl at the register. Five minutes later my food is handed to me. So I head on home to eat. So I was expecting a small wrap for the price, but it was a decent size. First bite and ahhhh, plenty of chicken and veggies. Tasted good, a little spicy and definitely meaty. Be cautious on portion sizes. The smoothies come in one size and it is basically a large. So a wrap that comes with a side and a smoothie is a fairly large meal. Good easy kid options which is good for us. Place is always clean but the trash can is weird. There is only one and it is very narrow. Just one of those strange things you notice. My husband and I used to love stopping here after our workout for a healthy, affordable meal and smoothie, but after two or three consecutive visits were ruined by the teenage girl making our food we wrote this place off forever. I don't know her name, but she's probably the same girl referenced in other recent reviews. The worst! If I were the manager I'd send in a secret shopper to officially document what it's like to be served by her. Luckily, we found out there's another location on Cypress Creek, and the experience is night and day. I don't know what has happened because I am a frequent customer of Tropical Smoothie. But recently the smoothies are terrible. I went in today and got a rockin raspberry. It tasted like ice and raspberry. Nothing more. Of course I took it back. It wasn't drinkable. I got it replaced and the second smoothie a paradise point, is just as bad. This one tastes like ice and pineapple. Not a hint of anything else and no sweetness at all. Get it together TSC. They have good pricing, reasonable for their wraps, flatbreads and smoothies. I like their açaí berry boost and chicken pesto flatbread. Food comes with a side and I usually get jalepeno kettle chips, but they offer other chips, fruits, or cookies. The staff is friendly and the service is quick! I often order food and smoothies from this Tropical Smoothie Cafe for my staff on special occasions and for staff meetings. The food is consistently yummy (we LOVE that apple kale slaw), the employees we've encountered have always been friendly and polite, and this location gets our order right each time - even large to-go orders. One afternoon, a third-party food delivery service inadvertently canceled our Tropical Smoothie order for 20 hungry people and would not work with us to restore the order in time for lunch. Tropical Smoothie Cafe saved the day by taking our huge order (including several special dietary requests) directly over the phone during their lunch rush with no complaints, got the order together for pickup in record time, and the only item they forgot to include was a cookie, which they made right for us the next morning. I know this place serves food but I've never eaten any thus I cannot comment on it. But nearly every time I've been, I see folks eating food there and it sure looks fresh. The smoothies are consistently good... very good. And my daughter really likes them and she's a tough critic. They've got all kinds of combinations and flavors and they're always willing to do something "custom". Service is always very good as well. I like how they bring the smoothie to you instead of just calling your number and having you come to the counter. I've noticed they always do that... nice touch! Been here a couple of times for catering for breakfast and lunch, each time blows us away! My employees ask for the wraps every time we do an event. You can't go wrong with any of the food here. This place is good. Even better then I once gave them credit for (previous to becoming a yelper). Initially, I came here since the Jamba Juice near there mysteriously closed. And it didn't compare. I will say the food tasted AMAZING ! We got the BBQ Chk Flatbread and Chipotle Chk Flatbread. The atmosphere was peaceful , restaurant was clean, and great choice of music in the background. This was my partner and I's 1st visit. BUT first impression is EVERYTHING. With that being said, it starts with the cashier, Marissa. She was rude and looked like she was about to die of boredom any second or go into shock/an episode. We was off to the side looking at the menu . She knew bc another customer had asked us before and we told him we weren't in line; just looking. Still looking , another customer came in , he asked her and she literally looked at us and shrugged her shoulders towards the customer and rolled her eyes and made the comment "I don't know what they're doing"... like okay. Then when we were finally ready, we walked up and ordered. After the first sandwich , she asks/says "That's it?" in a blank slightly rude tone. She continued that same two word dialogue on our order (we ordered 2 sandwiches and a smoothie). Throughout the whole ordering process, she was absent. If you don't want to work or pretend to be present , you should not be there. Honestly, either she needs a new attitude or needs to be working in the back away from customers. It was a Saturday afternoon. Around 2pm. I was hungry, but not that hungry. As I drove down 1431, I wanted something light, healthy, fast and easy. I spied this new location and pulled in. Now I'm not usually the kind of person that can subsist on a smoothie. I hadn't drank one for at least a few years until yesterday, but I thought I'd give it a shot because it's very close to my work. I walk in and I'm immediately greeted by a very enthusiastic counter person. Her cheerful attitude was contagious, not annoying or over-the-top. I look at the extensive menu and get a little lost in myriad choices. Do I want a Low-Fat, "Power", Dessert, Splendid (Splenda), or "Supercharged" Smoothie? What about a salad, sandwich, or toasted wrap to go with it? Uuhhhh... Shit. I dunno... I realize there's people waiting behind me, so I just blurt something out. "Health Nut please!" This is from the Power Smoothie list, and has Blueberries, Mango, Banana, Almonds, & your choice of Soy or Whey protein. I figured since I was going to the gym a little later to get all buffed and ripped, I could use some powdered protein in my light lunch.. No, really.. So they call my name and I go collect my meal in a cup. It's huge! And tasty! Maybe this smoothie idea ain't so crazy after all. Then again, I just paid almost 5 bones for some blended fruit. It filled me up though. I could hardly finish it! As I sat there sipping, I was asked if everything was OK by at least 3 different people. What the hell is going on here? Do I look displeased? Then I find out it was their very first day of business. The lady in the corner booth watching the staff must be the boss. I think to myself that they probably won't be so super-nice in a few weeks or so, but that remains to be seen. Will I be back? Most likely, every once in a while.
