I ordered Chia banana boost smoothie and also have tried the cranberry truffle smoothie. I prefer the Chia banana boost. It had a good taste and balanced flavor. It had chia seeds and it as well as peanut butter, oatmeal, almonds, dates, banana and coconut cream. They let you substitute an item that you may not want in it with another item in it. I ordered it online to pick it up and it was very simple to substitute something else in it. It was ready at the promise time that was posted online that said it would be ready . The price was $7.99 for a 24 oz cup. The cranberry truffle was good as well it had a stronger taste of fruit in it which was not bad at all. It had strawberries in it and cranberries white chocolate, nonfat yogurt and cranberry juice I substituted the cranberry juice and had mangoes in it instead. The price was $7.99 for a 24 oz cup. They do offer other things besides smoothies they have some food that you can check out online their menu I decided to have it inside their place the table had some straw wrappers that were left behind but otherwise every thing else in the store look pretty clean. The reason I rated my original review of three stars is for me three stars was a place that is considered average. When your birthday month hits you get all the freebies to cash-in. A couple weeks ago I was in the area and decided to grab my birthday smoothie. This location is one of the larger square footage locations I have seen and the eating area was well maintained. It wasn't too many people at the time of my arrival so I ordered an stepped aside. I got my normal Avocolada, I was interested in trying something new but the staff was not too engaging so I didn't push. Even though it didn't appear to be busy I had quite a wait and their was a slight order mix-up but I caught it. So no harm no foul. My smoothie was good (I always get the same one no matter the location). There was no issue however I don't know if it was just the Saturday I went but the staff seemed a little disinterested. So, I tried to order online and was forced to add another APP to my phone to complete the request. The intro page offered a FREE SMOOTHIE with your first order. Perhaps as a small token of appreciation for taking up space on your phone and cutting down the man hours they would have to pay for someone to take your order personally. Not sure, just guessing. Anyway, the APP is not as user friendly as the many other APPs I use everyday. The staff at this location did not know how to navigate the APP either. So, I was able to complete my order and of course I was asked to pay a tip before finalizing the order. So, I did. The Staff member said I would get a FREE SMOOTHIE and referred me back to the APP. I could not find a way to obtain my FREE SMOOTHIE and that's when she said, I don't know much about the APP. Go figure. I got the Baja Chicken Wrap with beyond meat and it was delicious until my bite revealed a blond hair sticking out of my wrap. I have black hair and a close cut so I know for sure it is NOT MINES. I ordered the three cheese chicken sandwich but there was no chicken. Three cheese CHICKEN, key word CHICKEN. Anyway, the staff was somewhat attractive for this area but they were slow. I have always wanted to try Tropical Smoothies Cafe and was happy to see that they opened a location in Lexington. I had not given much thought to other options besides smoothies being served and while watching TV yesterday, had seen a commercial for Tropical Smoothies Cafe promoting their tacos. I thought they must serve food as well and thought since this is a smoothie place. Not knowing what else they served, I went for dinner. I arrived and had place to myself (as it was Sunday evening --- not sure if it gets busier during the week). There is ample seating in this store, and they do have an island in sort of the middle that can seat about 15 people. This may have been one of those times I wish there was somewhat of a wait so I would have been able to decide what to order, and decided on the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. A side of chips automatically (I think) comes with your meal. I was hoping to get a drink as well and realized after my order was taken the price did not include a drink. All in all, the order just came to under $10, but not sure if is was slightly expensive since I forgot to order my drink with my sandwich (they do combos where you can either order a soft drink or a smoothie). Also, not sure if it is this location only, but they do not have a free refill fountain (if you do order a meal in), they only serve bottled drinks. As I was waiting for my wrap, I had noticed (probably a grade school child) had written Tropical Smoothie Cafe a letter (nothing bad) that they had on their wall. One thing they mentioned was the portions was big and had to take some home (wish I listened)! I do not know if it was size or wrap, but the wrap was not totally what I expected (taste wise). Before my next visit, I'll make sure to look at what other wraps that they might have. Might also need to try a smoothie - since that is what they are known for. read more
