Great place to take the kids for ice cream. Connor's look a bit dry and lifeless but kids don't care. The cake we got for my daughters bday was so cute she loves sprinkles. Cake was 99% ice cream and 1% cake. I definitely expected more cake and to ice cream ratio but the ice cream was good nonetheless just wasn't what we expected or have had in the past when getting ice cream cakes. So this place is cookies and ice cream and it is pretty awesome. I was in a huge hurry to get my daughter a birthday cake for her party because of an issue at another place I won't mention here. They not only had ice cream cakes ready to go, but the girl working mentioned they could make a custom cookie cake fairly quickly. This location is very particular on what they allow for you to mix in with your ice cream. I wanted to add banana to my ice cream but was told that they only allow banana within banana ice cream or in a banana split. I've been to every marble slab in Charleston and Columbia with the exception of this one and have never heard of this type of rule. It's their rule so I respect it but I still want to voice my opinion that this rule is absolutely ridiculous. I am unsure if it's just the banana or any other topping but it is unfortunate. Also I am not sure but it seems to be within a grey area of marble slab because there is a free mixin policy stating " Make a custom creation with Always Free Mix-Ins. With plenty of Mix-Ins to choose from, including the finest fruits, nuts, candies, and cookies - the possibilities are endless." Therefore, it's my opinion that this location goes against this because it's clearly not "free" unless it's within their specific parameters on what they think a topping should only belong to. read more

absolutely trash service from 90% of the employees. We arrived at 7:00 and didn't get back in our car to leave until 8:15 due to the ridiculous slow service. Also, one of the female employees had a horrible attitude when she messed up our order and we politely asked her to remake it. Once it was remade (with a side of attitude) all three of our shakes were extremely runny, it was evident she used virtually no ice cream to make them and we had to have another kind employee remake them. There are children in here and the music is talking about sex and selling "dope." This is absolutely ridiculous. The music is extremely explicit and extremely loud. I will not be coming back here. I love Marble Slab and I always have a good experience. It's a Sunday afternoon and ice cream/ frozen yogurt is an essential on a hot day. The creamery was busy, but the 3 people working were friendly, efficient and worked as quickly as possible. They had a great routine and made my wait time minimal. I will say that I don't like the sitting arrangements, so I took my ice cream to go. With the place being so busy having the tables right behind the line doesn't really work to well and it's uncomfortable to those sitting. I'd still definitely come here again, but I'll most likely never sit inside unless it no one in there. read more

I've always enjoyed coming here but after the new renovations I just get my order to go. The seating is uncomfortable and just weird. I came in on 7/13/17 to get some cookies because I have been craving their cookies for weeks. I went in and there was no one at the front I waited patiently and then a young nice girl came from the back. I decided to get the deal buy five get one free total a little over $8.00. I ate two sugar cookies and saved the rest for later. When I got home my daughter pulled her cookie out and she handed me another out the bag. I bit into my chewy chocolate cookie and there was the longest strand of hair cooked into the cookie. This is absolutely disgusting. I spit the cookie out and threw it away. We have always enjoyed the ice cream and malts that we get at the marble slab creamery. This most recent time the peanut butter malt that we received was more like peanut butter milk there was minimal ice cream and no malt and it was very disappointed. For starters the AC was out so the ice cream was melted. That's not the employees fault so that's not a big deal. But what is the big deal when the business doesn't close until 10pm and people are in there at 935 and the female working at that time and the taller blonde guy were making rude comments such as," since when have we had a line to the door? It's like ten o clock this is ridiculous!" That's extremely rude also the fact that when we were talking to the workers in there, mind you at that time it was just us in there, they smelt extremely strong of weed. That is completely in acceptable in the food industry. Who ever this manager is needs to figure it out because when he or she isn't there that place has terrible customer service.
