Today I stopped at the one in New Lenox, it's so bright and airy in there, you almost feel transported to a tropical locale! I got the Mango Monsoon and boy it packs a punch of flavor. I tried the avocolada smoothie a while back. I absolutely crave this smoothie now. It's made with avocado and tastes like a piña colada with a slight twist. It's not to sweet, which is what I like ..most smoothies are way to sweet. It has spinach in it, giving it a green color. You can't taste the spinach though. One of my family members went there and asked for a smoothie with no bananas. He noticed a girl putting a banana in the blender and asked three times if there was going to be any banana in it and they all said no. However, once I tasted the smoothie, there was a banana. The workers there are horrible and do not listen to special requests, making this experience one star. I went here a few years ago and had an awkward experience. Decided to give them another chance back in January of this year. Elyssa and another woman were working that afternoon. She failed to apply my coupon that she was actually holding right in her hand. I had to place the order again to be able to use the coupon. She said I'd get a refund for the first order she messed up. I asked twice for a receipt for the refund and was told they are unable to give me a receipt for the refund and had no way to do so. Any other store I return something to always provides me with a refund receipt. She gave me some line about having to show the manager but he wasn't in that day. I will never be bringing them any business again nor recommend them to anyone. Skip this place and go to the nearby Smoothie King for much better professional service. read more

That's ridiculous and immature. Bad rating because of calories? Every smoothie has an average of 300 calories....and then add peanut butter. What do you expect? I'm not tied to this restaurant at all, and I can care less about the success of it. Personally, I go to tropical often and the food is always GREAT and fresh every time. I actually prefer the food over the smoothies. Each item is full of so much flavor. But the smoothies are great as well. (just not a big smoothie person). The company I work for orders from here a few times a year for catered lunches and they never disappoint. There's no denying that their food and smoothies taste delicious....just make sure you don't go in there thinking everything is super healthy. The amount of calories and sugar in their smoothies is overwhelming. Of course fruits have natural sugar but there is a lot of added sugar as well. The Jamaican jerk chicken wrap is sooo tasty but it has 1800mg of sodium, that's 6 times more sodium than a large french fry from McDonald's. It has chicken, rice, corn, beans, asparagus, onions and cheese so you think you're eating healthy. I definitely prefer the taste of their smoothies to any other place (Jamba Juice, etc) but I try not to come here that often specifically for nutritional reasons. read more

My favorites are the Peanut Paradise and the Chai Banana Boost with Peanut Butter. They blend it so well and offer a big cup, great for sharing or meal replacement! I had a Thai Chicken wrap this week and it was AMAZING! As good as you would get in any fancy sit down restaurant. It had good spice to it and such quality ingredients. The smoothie I had was and Island Green. I was skeptical at first, not ever having a green smoothie before...but it was really good and the owner told me that it had 5 servings of fruits and vegetables.
