This is a smaller, but very popular place tucked away just north of downtown historic Frankfort, IL. The service was incredible. Our waitress Kristina was fantastic. We had some dietary restrictions at our table, so there were some special orders, and she absolutely nailed every single one of them. As soon as you had three sips from your coffee cup, she was there to offer you a refill. The table maintenance was impeccable. So many restaurants nowadays miss the mark on this. She was expedient, ultra friendly, without making you feel rushed. The food was cooked perfectly and for breakfast food, very delicious. I say that because I can't tell you how many breakfast restaurants screw up the very basic foods that compromise the simplest meal of the day, in my opinion. Yet, there are so many places that just don't get it right. Kup A Joe definitely is not one of those places. The portions were massive, and well worth the money! Oh Joe, What happen to you. This place went down hill so fast My coffee mug had an OLD STAINED RING on it before I drank it! and you charged me for it! So you dont wash your mugs anymore? Calling the helth department on this 1 Place somhow is even louder than I remeber. Waitress sucked. And then when the food came out, there was a chip on my plate!! WTF? What a gem!!! My husband and I had lunch at Kup A Joe for the first time today. We were so pleased with everything!!! The food was so delicious and fresh. The best chopped salad, Reuben and Lemon rice soup, that we have ever had !!!! And the pastry offering was fresh and delish!!! The server and the table assistant were so pleasant, friendly and efficient. I'm sorry I don't remember their names. But along with the delicious food they really made our lunch date such a fabulous experience. The owner Jason was so friendly too!!! Kudos to Jason for running a top notch establishment. Restaurant is a bit small but they offer outdoor seating. My waitress was Alicia. She was nice and attentive. It was first time so she recommended some things. I ordered the roast beef benedict. I substituted the egg McMuffin with a croissant. The sandwich would've been better is the beef was more flavorful. I didn't take any seasoning on it. Hashbrowns were cooked like I wanted. Stopped here after our morning bike ride. We got the bacon and avocado scrambler, and the steak quesadillas. Both were amazing!!! The quesadilla was dripping with juice and the meat was so tender. Went there for breakfast on Sunday and I ordered eggs, scrambled covered and onions and hashbrowns with onions very well done and coffee and my bride ordered a make your own omelette and ordered it well done with a side of fresh fruit. Everything was better than just good and the owner came over and sat down and talked with us for a while. After a terrible experience at another breakfast place, this was a hurricane of friendliness, courtesy, teamwork and a wonderful staff, from hostess to waitress to busboy crew! The service was great! They start you off with munchkin donuts that were good! I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benny and it was delicious. It was so good I forgot to take a picture :( They also have mimosas and drinks that are available which was nice and unexpected to be honest. Kup a Joe is a cute little breakfast restaurant in downtown Frankfort. We came on New Years Eve for breakfast and only had to wait a few minutes for a table. I started with the mocha latte. It was good, but tasted more like a hot cocoa. I ordered the brie omelet with gluten free toast as my meal. The cheese was perfectly melted on top and it was delicious. My friend ordered the country steak and eggs. They brought him biscuits and gravy. The waitress was very apologetic and fixed the issue right away. He enjoyed his meal once he received it, although mine got cold while i waited for his. We will be back, definitely when the weather gets better and patio opens so we can sit outside. read more

We tried this breakfast place Saturday morning - easy to find, parking was ample and there was no wait, we were greeted and seated quickly. Our waitress Christine was friendly and quick to take our orders. The coffee was excellent, the breakfast bacon sliders were delicious, the hash browns were some of the best I've had! This is a cute little cafe in old Frankfort. The food is very fresh and well prepared. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The problem I have with this place (especially in the colder months) is that they basically have cafeteria style seating.... Meaning most of their tables are pushed together, and unless you have a large party, it's very likely that you will be sitting at a long table with other groups. It can be a little awkward especially if you're trying to have a somewhat private meal. The summer is a little better because they have patio seating available and it's quite lovely. The big minus is they are much higher in prices than other breakfast/lunch places in the area. On top of that they charge extra for carry out orders. I've lived in Frankfort for years and haven't tried Kup A Joe until today. So glad I did. We had lunch and decided on the pot roast dinner. Meat was tender and was served with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Meal also came with a cup of soup lemon rice. One of my favorites. Portion size was very generous. Their donuts look amazing. This place is so cute and welcoming in the downtown area. It is usually very busy on the weekends, however the wait time is usually really fast. I was told a 15 minute wait and was taken to be seated 5 minutes later. Our food was also very fresh and hot and came in a very timely manner despite it being super packed. The food is delicious, but the a la carte is on the expensive side for some of them, but I understand with the prices of food rising. Nonetheless I still 100% recommend it.
