Pot roast Benedict
NiNi F.

Restaurant is a bit small but they offer outdoor seating. My waitress was Alicia. She was nice and attentive. It was first time so she recommended some things. I ordered the roast beef benedict. I substituted the egg McMuffin with a croissant. The sandwich would've been better is the beef was more flavorful. I didn't take any seasoning on it. Hashbrowns were cooked like I wanted. This place isn't great. I would give them another try.

Blueberry Lemon pancakes

always a solid choice for a breakfast place and they have the lemon rice soup everyday which was delicious!

Shashuka.. An African dish consisting of poached eggs in a tomato sauce and spices

I've never seen shashuka on the menu before, so I decided to try it! I've made it myself. It was great ! Lots of spices and flavors. I would order it again.

Stopped here after our morning bike ride. We got the bacon and avocado scrambler, and the steak quesadillas. Both were amazing!!! The quesadilla was dripping with juice and the meat was so tender. All the ingredients in the scrambler are very fresh and delicious!! The staff is very kind and friendly. We will be coming back here for sure!!!! There is inside and outside seating also.

Breakfast Tacos

Second time here and devoured it. The portions are not small, so make room!! I got the breakfast tacos that's just chorizo and eggs with toppings. I asked for my toppings on the side this time around. Idk, I just wasn't a fan of all my toppings on the tacos. I did add some Cholula to give it some spice. We ordered The Hangover Breakfast and it was fire! The chicken was welled seasoned. Eggs done perfectly and the sausages were thiccc. -- there's a cozy coffee bar/diner bar! but booths and tables are an option to accommodate families. Merch for sale, and friendly, attentive staff! We'll be back here... with stretchy sitting pants.

By far the worst breakfast I've had in years. Potatoes were half burnt and half undercooked. Everything was SALTY. Someone needs to throw out the chicken base. Two bites and there was no way I was even trying to make it work. The French toast sampler also underwhelming. Everything was just not toasty enough and too sweet. Even the coffee drinks were sad. Of course I drank it anyway...it was coffee. This place is a hard pass for me. Only positive...the waitress was very sweet, saw I wasn't eating and offered to try fixing it.

New owner, same family, still a great place for breakfast. Jason has made a few changes, but the food and service has remained high quality. When you are in town you need to stop by for a meal.

Nice, friendly management. Food is good with a lot of variety. Gets busy and you may have to wait a few minutes to be seated

The coffee selections are numerous, and you can get them on the strong side or a bit weaker. They also have a number of pastries that can delight your taste buds ... the only glitch we saw was that they did not have a large selection of croissants. For example, we could not get just a plain croissant. But even given that, this was a very nice coffee stop for those that really like good coffee. The dining room was nice and large, with many different sections to settle into with your coffee. Loads of outlets to plug in your lap top if you come with one for a little work. Staff was very friendly, and it is pretty much an order at the counter and get your coffee. They don't need a large staff to run this place, as it pretty much runs itself other than the coffee-master. Give this place a try.

I always opt in for the hot Pistachio latte. It's not too rich, but enough to quench your sweetness for a delicious drink. There's plenty of seating but this place is always packed. I don't think I've ever gone in when it's empty, whether it's noon or night. There's also quite the selection of pastries! So many delicious desserts and buns! You can't go wrong with any selection. Everyone is friendly and helpful at Marouf! This is one of my favorite coffee houses in the SW burbs!

Saturday late morning was a good time to enjoy Eggcetera Cafe. There was enough train and Metra…read moretraffic to enthrall the youngest member of our party, but not so much to be intrusive to conversation. The coffee was good but better with half & half. The dark roast coffee was had more flavor than the regular coffee. I had the Large Eggcroissant, husband had Crepes Florentine, and a yogurt parfait for the Train Enthusiast. The star of the offerings was the hollandaise sauce. Most hollandaise sauce is insipid (at best) and excruciatingly over used. Husband tends to ask for it on the side because there's no reason to ruin an adequate meal by drowning it with bland yellow sludge. Eggcetera Cafe's hollandaise tasted delicately of lemon as it should. He drizzled it artistically on his crepes after a pleasantly surprised taste. The croissant sandwich was huge. They are very generous with the cheese and side of potatoes. The potatoes needed some salt (and a bit of hubby's extra hollandaise) but we nicely soft with a bit of brown. The parfait was sweet. It had whipped cream and slices of strawberries, and American style blended yogurt. It was very sweet and the Little Train Enthusiast was thrilled with trains and parfait. The changing table in the Women's has a broken strap and that made changing the Enthusiast a bit precarious but I'm usually just grateful not to have to use the floor. I'm happy we broke our fast at Eggcetera Cafe. We'll be happy to visit again.

No warm fuzzies were felt as I entered into the restaurant. $5 for a small cranberry juice. Wow. I'll make sure to go to the grocery store 1st next time. Corn beef hash comes hot, but it's out from a can for sure. Asked for 2 orders of crispy bacon. I've had better. It's a little flimsy but they give your 4 slices per order to compensate. Can't complain about that. Asked for buttered toast. They obliged. A lot of restaurants don't do it. The star of the show: the hash browns. The best in the south suburbs. Real potatoes fried just right. Hot and and delicious even after a 15 minute trip. Could use some seasoning, but...whatever. Maybe I'll share that with them when I return, because I will return for those hash browns!

They have a decently sized seating area, and in the warmer months, there's a patio to sit outside. It can get a bit loud inside during the weekends and peak hours, so not ideal if you prefer quieter environments to do work. I absolutely love their brownies, especially their blackberry brownie, but they were out the day I went so I got the red velvet cupcake instead and it was perfectly moist and soft. You truly can't go wrong with any of their bakery items. I also got the pesto pasta salad, which I highly recommend.

I had the pick two, which was a half a sandwich (grilled cheese) with a half salad (kale Caesar). The salad was so good! Fresh, crisp and lightly dressed. However, the grilled cheese was pretty sad. I opened it up and there was hardly any cheese. It was just like eating two pieces of grilled bread. They need to improve on that for sure. I also had their 12oz wildflower latte which was very tasty, but served lukewarm and not hot. If the milk is not steamed, it will bring down the temperature of the coffee. I like my specialty coffees served hot. I do have to say every staff member we came in contact with was friendly. They seemed happy and were there to help and answer questions. You place your order at the counter, and you receive a number which you display at your table. There are two dining areas with tables and a few booths to dine at next to where you place your order. Members of the staff bring your order to the table. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food. Even with the sad grilled cheese sandwich which was disappointing and the lukewarm latte, I would definitely go back to Blackberry Market again to try other items on their menu. I'll pass on the grilled cheese, though.

There was already a small line of guests with the same idea, but we were able to get on the waitlist. While waiting, we checked out the small coffee shop inside the gallery and browsed the furniture, which helped pass the time. Our wait was about an hour before being escorted to our table in the courtyard. Initially, we were placed at a low coffee table with couch seating. It's a cool lounge style setup, especially for drinks, but not ideal for a meal. It would have been pretty awkward trying to eat comfortably. We asked to be moved and were told that table preferences should be requested when joining the waitlist. Since it was my first time visiting, I wasn't aware of that, and it also wasn't asked by the hostess. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate us and moved us to a table in the wine cellar. The wine cellar had a completely different vibe, dark and moody, compared to the bright, airy courtyard with its beautiful glass ceiling and natural light. We ordered the lobster roll and the RH Burger, both with fries. The food came out fairly quickly and was well-presented. The lobster roll was served on a buttery brioche with just the right amount of seasoning, and the burger was juicy and flavorful. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely visit again.

Unfortunately for us we were a table for 3 and despite having mad that reservation weeks in advance were placed in what was obviously just 2 two tops pushed together. And not in the main atrium area. Look it was still a beautiful atmosphere and our company made it a lovely evening. Why don't they have a liquor license here? Ok the food. The burrata salad, so nice and summer fresh. We also had the crispy artichokes meh. What saved my night was the chicken salad. The crispy bits...amazing all through the salad. So good. Let's talk dessert, the butterscotch crème brûlée so good. Coffee and a port wine.... Good, but where is the cheese board. This place would benefit from real liquor and a desert cheese board. I mean I must believe that RH has a cheese board on offer somewhere. Anyway, nice evening and decent food in a mostly lovely place.
