I regularly purchase açaí bowls from Tropical Smoothie Cafe--often multiple times a week--and have been a loyal customer at my local locations. Last week, I ordered an açaí bowl and nearly broke a tooth on what appears to be the new granola. It was noticeably different, and biting into it felt like biting down on a pebble. I was genuinely concerned I had damaged my tooth and had to eat very carefully afterward. Assuming it was an isolated issue, I returned yesterday and asked about the granola. The staff confirmed it had recently been changed. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again--I bit into another extremely hard piece and ended up throwing the bowl away. I'd like to understand: Was this change made for cost-saving purposes? Has the safety and consistency of this new granola been evaluated? What is your policy if a customer experiences dental damage due to your product? This experience has been disappointing, and unless this issue is addressed, I won't be purchasing the açaí bowl again. And, by the way, the Acai bowl at the TSC in Fairfax City is less costly than the one at TSC in Springfield Plaza.... read more

Oh my the parking situation is atrocious. There's no way around it. Am pleased that County police cameras on mall too, as have seen some unique stuff. Now they have on duty security, that seem helpful, and this chain has done well. Yet I prefer to relax with a smoothie. Here that's possible to a degree, yet there are quieter locations. Nice and friendly staff. Would like to acknowledge their excellence. Prices are up thanks to inflation. The smoothies with whey protein, are what I would recommend. Meals are so so. I wasn't really hungry for dinner, so I decided to get a smoothie. , so I chose one that had the least amount of sugar and the amount of calories which was the detox green. However, I did add Energizer, so I could get the caffeine to help me on my bike ride. Before I walked in the door, there was a sign that talked about downloading the rewards app. Joy, I did this and sat down to order mai smoothie. Once I finished, I first went to the bathroom and then waited for a couple of minutes and my smoothie was done. After taking their first sip, I felt like it was very refreshing and just had the right amount of sugar. To be honest, I could probably drink one of these each day and probably make it myself, but this is So convenient. The staff was friendly, the place was very clean, but there wasn't too many people inside. In fact, I was the only one until about four other customers showed up. Overall, if I'm craving something sweet, with a pick-me-up and not too many calories, I'm going to come by to this place, well, one close to my house in DC. read more

I will not be returning to tropical smoothie as a whole! I usually go into this location almost everyday. But the last three times have been super uncomfortable. They don't greet you when you walk in and come off as rude. Smoothie can be made at home. The only way to get and keep your customers is customer service so I would work on that zero stars don't go there. They barely speak English as well read more

Found a hair in my 2 year old's food after making an hour round trip to get him some dinner. When I called about it the workers took my information and submitted it to the manager. The manager never contacted me and when I called back another hour later they informed me that I cannot get a refund unless I physically come back to the store. The manager refuses to contact me on this situation to be able to make anything right. Horribly incompetent manager that is only available between the hours of 11 am and 1 pm. read more

If I could give this location a zero, I would! We walked into this location, which was very clean but had a strong bleach or fabuloso odor. Anyway, NO ONE said a thing to us. There was a family at the register and the cashier was SLOWLY helping them. Several workers walked past us and looked at us but did not speak. Not only that, the prices were more expensive than a location we visited 2 days prior in the surrounding area. Well the cashier finally finished helping the family and then walked away from the register and began to grab the tip chart and count lay out the money, count it and take pictures!!! This was all while we were standing there to order. Seriously?!? I will not give my money to an establishment that treats customers differently and as if they're not welcome. No thanks! This is newly opened and is extremely spacious and well done. There are so many great items to choose from. I was greeted as soon as I came in. My order was taken promptly and given to me even quicker. I ordered the açaí berry smoothie and it was delicious and a large size. I was able to have some now and save some for later. I got their chocolate mocha smoothie. Absolutely terrible. It's basically a frappachino. But awful. Not sure how you could mess that kind of drink up, but they did. Otherwise, employees were nice, the restaurant was clean and had ample seating. The drink I got just sucked. This location has been open for a week now. It is very sleek and spacious compared to other locations. The employees they choose are personable and offer a welcoming experience for this store opening. We've been going to Alexandria- super stoked to have one even closer to us :) If you haven't been to TSC before this will be a good place to check it out. I recommend the buffalo chicken wrap and island green smoothie. My son likes the Jetty junior from the kid's menu. read more

We ordered two smoothies online to redeem the T-Life coupon and for some reason the coupon didn't apply and charged our credit card for the whole amount. I went in to explain what happened and was immediately told by the employee that there is no way to fix the problem. Delia didn't offer any kind of customer service or any solution to what was a mistake when we tried to place the order online. So I asked her if I could speak to a manager. She was hesitant and said she would call. She handed me her cell phone and I end up speaking to a manager. I asked the manager his name (Adil) , the employee's name (Delia) , and the store# of this location (#VA115). Adil also refused to help a customer and said I would have to make another purchase of a $1 to redeem the coupon. Until I told him I was already charged $17.79 and all I wanted was a little help to void the transaction and put it through again with the coupon. Again met with absolutely no customer service. I just asked for a refund. I no longer wanted the smoothies and was told "ok". As I waited at the counter for Delia to come back the other employee hung up the phone. Delia came back to the register and I told her the manager said the refund was approved. She then said I would have to wait until Monday. Adil never mentioned having to wait until Monday for a refund because the order that was placed online. I left both smoothies there and I will never come back to this location #Va115. I may never support any tropical smoothie establishment because of very poor customer service. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Disappointed in the level of zero empathy. I will wait until Monday (8/18/25) to see if they will stand by their word of giving me the refund that is owed. read more

Second time they disappointed me. The first time I ordered for delivery and didn't get delivered till 2 hours later and they didn't make us fresh ones. This time the avacolado tasted like spinach slushy with chunks not fully blended. I think they have been skimping on the avocado and fruits that go in the drink. Hope they fix this. read more

Really disappointed. I got the peanut butter cup smoothie with chia seeds and it tasted extremely watered down. The flavor was barely there. They obviously used a lot of ice. The peanut butter power at Robeks is SO much tastier & packed with flavor. Safe to say I won't be coming back here. read more
