Visited the tropical smoothie place in Springville, Ut. Went inside. Cafe is clean and quaint. Lots of room, a good place to eat and get some work done. Very fast with our order. Ordered the southwest breakfast wrap. My mother said it was delicious. Also ordered the island punch smoothies. We thought they were flavorful and big for the cost. Love the fresh made products here. Had the Turkey Bacon Swiss and the Thai Wrap. Both were very good. Whoever made them did a great job. Not just thrown together like so many places do. Nice and clean location. One thing that needs addressing is the music is way to loud! You have customers that aren't 17 and want it blasting while they eat. Imagine this: it's Sunday afternoon, sunny and hot outside and all you want is a frozen treat that will cool you off and quench your thirst. Then you remember you are in Utah county where most places are closed on the sabbath. You hopefully turn to the worldwide web in search of a place that will satisfy your craving. Lo and behold! The Tropical Smoothie Cafe is open-and it has a drive through, so no pants necessary! This was my experience this past weekend and I'm happy to say that my smoothie lived up to my expectations and put a smile on my face. The flavor was delightful with a nice mixture of fruits. I would have liked it to be a little more blended, as it was pretty icy. But not bad enough for me to have a hard time enjoying my drink. This place was very cute inside and it took about 5 minutes for our smoothies to be made. Everything was good the reason I am doing 4 stars instead of 5 is because both smoothies had a slightly grainy (powdery) taste. Overall a good experience just not wowed. read more

DO NOT ORDER FOOD HERE. I have given TMC food several tries, and every time I am so unimpressed. I ordered the avocado grilled cheese, and it came to me FLAT as a pancake. Not even remotely close to what the picture on the menu looks like. And whatever "avocado" they're using is hardly avocado?? And I got the kale apple side salad with it, and it smelled RANCID, with rotting pieces of kale in the lid. Plus, the salad is probably 2 bites worth of food. Hate - Love - Hate Hate Hate this place. Today it took 20 minutes between the time I placed my order in the drive-thru till I got everything I ordered. I got my smoothies which was great, but waited another 15 minutes for my wrap. The smoothies I took home for my daughter melted in the 90 degree heat. My wrap wasn't cut in half like they normally do so it got super messy eating it in the car. I had the Thai wrap and it was very tasty, But half way through I noticed the lettuce was moldy...yuk!!!! To top it off no napkins in the bag. What a messy less than poor experience today. We come here often because we live just up the street. But the last few times have been really bad. read more

My smoothie was overly icey and not nearly blended enough. I kept getting chunks of kale stuck in my straw, and the pieces that did come through were not pleasant. I mean, who actually likes chunks of kale? Blended up they are great and mix with the other flavors. But this smoothie lacked fluency because it wasn't fully blended together. I have NEVER had this problem at Jamba or Roxberry smoothies. Super disappointed. I also wish they had smaller sizes. read more

If you think they are overpriced, just wait until you see the SIZE of the smoothie that you order! They are HUGE! Top favorite smoothies include: Bahama Mama, Acai Berry Boost, Sunrise and Loco Mocho (you can choose regular or decaf coffee) Least favorite smoothies: Ginger Blast, Mango tango (these have really weird textures and dont taste very sweet) Top Favorite Food item: Turkey Bacon Sandwhich with their baked lays chips You can download the Tropical Smoothie Cafe App, and you can order ahead of time and pay, so that there is literally no wait for your food when you go and get it! Also, they collect points and the more you order, they give you money to use towards future orders! I was super busy excited when I heard they were coming to town as I love the Orem location. But after today( my second try at the Springville location) I might have to pass. Both times the waits were crazy long and today I had decided to go ahead and leave because I could see no one was inside that could be ahead of me and I was about to be late for work. I couldn't see any employees either although my oder had been taken. I felt bad because my order would be wasted so I honked a few times ( I am the only one in line) No response until just as I began diving away , a girl ran up to the window and stated , "i don't know what happened but your order got sent somewhere else." Then her coworker also appeared. Really? From the drive through order box my order went somewhere else? She should have at least remembered that she took my order. No apology, knowing I was now late for work, she was then very slow getting my change. I almost left again. That said, however , the smoothie was great. Just needs a little adult supervision or someone responsible inside. UPDATE: The manager reached out to me so I gave it another try. We stopped by the Tropical Smoothie Cafe on our way home from our Spring break trip since we were kinda sick of eating junk food for the past few days. We found this place on Google and were so happy to see a healthier alternative open on a Sunday! Since there were no other customers inside the restaurant, our order was fulfilled pretty quick. The kids loved their quesadillas and smoothies, and both my husband and I enjoyed our meals as well. The only reason for the 4 stars is the price point, which is a bit higher compared to other similar places but it's still reasonable if you take into consideration that you are getting a much healthier meal option and a huge smoothie that will definitely help you fill you up. To be fair, if I could I'd discount only half a point and not a full point from my review but Yelp doesn't allow me to do it. If I lived closer to this location I'd definitely come more often.
