They also gave the right amount of food for what we pay for unlike the stingy manager at the location on University Parkway. The restaurant was clean and had nice holiday decorations. This 1600 North Orem location seems to have gone downhill a bit. We used to love to come here but it now seems you don't get the value for your money anymore. They are Inconsistent with how much meat they put on salad and burritos maybe they should start weighing it. They forgot the tortilla on the side and when I got it, it was undercooked and doughy. There are lots of other options around, so this is our last visit here. It's just a regular salad without enough meat to even taste it. Had a lovely experience here for lunch today! The service was good, line moved quickly, and the food was tasty. It was super fresh. I wish they didn't skimp on the meat portions. They have become drastically smaller the last few months. In addition, the cheese was not melted fully in my quesadilla which made it a little gross and I couldn't eat those parts. I am not sure if I just came at the wrong time but I got the worst burrito I've ever had from costa vida at this location. They were fairly busy and I ordered to go on the app. I payed to have extra tomatillo ranch inside my burrito which wasn't in there. There was actually no sauce whatsoever in my burrito, which made the rest of the whole burrito dry. There was barely any cheese melted on top and I'm just very disappointed with what I got and the taste that came along with it. Pretty good food, especially if you're hungry! Honestly my one thing for them is I feel like the poor employees are trained to give the most minimal amount of food possible. I was there when a manager was training a new guy and watched them take three pieces of lettuce off my salad because "it was too much." We have been buying Costa Vida kids meals for years, and my daughter loves them. We went in tonight and noticed they've started up charging for every kids meal meat except sweet pork. Even meats like grilled chicken, that are not up charged on an adult meal, are a kids meal up charge. That's annoying. Then they made her food and gave her the tiniest, skimpiest little enchilada. It almost looked like a taquito. The rice portion was not bad, but they gave her the teeniest, tiniest, sorriest scoop of beans. Literally, the bottom of half of the tin was uncovered, which has never been our experience before. When my daughter saw her meal her face fell. She was very disappointed. She was still hungry after she ate it, and wanted a second meal, but I was not about to buy another one like that. We stopped somewhere else on our way home. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because my salad and my husband's burrito tasted good. They skimped on the meat on those, too, though. We'll try the Costa Vida by our house next time, but if they're all like this, we're done with Costs Vida. read more

this is how it works, you walk in the door, get in line (check the menu while in line), when you get up to the order area, tell them what you want and follow the line, pay, etc... think of subway, but it's Mexican food. They have this iron wheel that spins, where they put the flour tortilla to warm it up and use it for your oder. If you got sauce on top, they will put cheese and put it through a warmer, then add lettuce and salsa. the meal is served in a metal container, so if you have left over, just go grab a lid and take it home. So after reviewing the menu, I decided to go with Sweet Pork Burrito with rice and black beans (like 1150 calories) with diet coke. The pork was indeed sweet, it was so good... The interior is modern and spacious and open. It's busy during lunch, so expect to wait in line a little, but you won't be disappointed!!! read more

It's a better rating than the food deserves, but what can I say -- People really like it. It's not really Mexican, it's overly sweet, and there is a lot of it for a fair price. It seems to be as good as the other similar competition. I ordered a Chipotle Chicken dish expecting it would not be overly sweet. Whoa. It was really sweet. The sauce was a lot like the sweet orange sauce you get at Chinese restaurants to dip your fried rolls in. I was so disappointed that I wrote to the corporate office. I heard back from not one, but two of the top people in corporate the next day. They sent me new coupons to try it again and gave me suggestions based on my preferences. It was still rather sweet and bland, but better. Then a year later, they sent me another set of coupons hoping I was having better experiences these days. Food is always great here but their online ordering is not worth it. They are always a good 10-15min behind the time they say and the line in store clears multiple times before your online order is ready. They are also really stingy with serving sizes compared to other costa vidas. read more

I love Costa Vida. Been a longtime customer, and family members have opened stores + managed stores, so our love runs deep. But I have some feedback. I get curbside pickup often and the past few times they've completely ignored me waiting. I've had to go into the store to get my order and they've acted annoyed. If you offer curbside, then do it correctly? Also the past few times I've ordered extra meat and steak and they didn't add extra meat and gave me pork-- both "upgrades" I paid for but didn't get. Another feedback-- I don't like how the beans get all over the aluminum foil. It makes it so much more messy than needed. I'd appreciate the rice to be as a barrier or some kind of divide so my aluminum foil isn't sopping with beans. read more

We have been a bit disappointed on the last couple of visits. We have not received utensils with our take out order. I know this seems trivial but when the team member is asked if utensils have been put in the bag and they mutter, "Yes, we put them in" but there really isn't any when you get home, it's pretty frustrating. Costa Vida is our go-to "I don't want to make dinner tonight" option. It seriously ALWAYS sounds good. Not to mention we can feed our family of 4 without breaking the bank. Even when the line is practically to the door at this location, the wait is never very long because the employees seriously know how to hustle! If you've never been to Costa, you MUST order the sweet pork. It doesn't even matter in what form. Tacos, burrito, nachos, salad... it makes any of them out of this world amazing! Very kid friendly space- the kids meal is inexpensive, delicious and comes with a cinnamon sugar tortilla that my husband always tried to convince my son to give to him. No luck so far. Keep dreaming, honey. And I've got to say... since people are always comparing Costa Vida and Cafe Rio... the nachos here are WAY better than Cafe Rio's nachos. At Cafe you pay extra for queso and they still only give you a tiny little bit. Nachos at Costa are loaded (no stinting on the guacamole either) and queso is included from the get-go. So to sum up... sweet pork? Yum. Nachos? Yum. Kids meal? Picky eaters will magically turn into hungry little angels. Costa is always a good idea. read more
