Look, I have firsthand knowledge from a few friends of mine who worked at the Baytree location. First, the manager & staff are rude as hell & unprofessional. They hire people who were the outcasts growing up in school & put them in a supervisor position at a job like this--basically people who don't know how to treat others or talk to people directly. It's as if you pulled up straight to loserville with a bunch of bullies ready to pounce on you. Second, those blenders are dirty as hell in-between orders. They're not rinsing them out thoroughly enough so you don't know what kinda smoothie you actually getting. Third, the sink that they wash the blenders in are smelly & full of mold. Be careful eating here. Cross-contamination is a real possibility. read more

Brought my dog in a stroller & was told no dogs allowed. So I waited outside & another customer told me they called my name. Then I go in & they tell me they have to remake it & I go back outside again. I ended up getting a refund. Waited almost 15 min for one chicken pesto sando. Looks like a bunch of kids work there. Not sure how it happened, but upon unwrapping our Baja Chicken Wrap, I noticed a hair tie WITH an employees hair wrapped up in it in the packaging! Tried calling the location to tell a manager, was asked if I could hold for a moment, I said sure. I was never placed on hold, the employee set the phone down and totally forgot about us on the phone. We called back and requested a manager, the employee didn't want to transfer us to a manager and we had to ask again to speak to a manager. I'm of the belief that you can never go wrong choosing Tropical Smoothie Cafe. The Santa Fe Quesadilla is top notch *chefs kiss*. I'm usually a Bahama Mama or Avocolada kinda girl, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try two new smoothie flavors - The Hurricane (Seasonal Mardi Gras offering) and The Detox. The Detox was a hard NO for me dawg *Randy Jackson voice*. It definitely tasted...green. Not much of a taste otherwise. The Hurricane was a passion fruit based drink that didn't quite hit the spot for me, but it was much better than the Detox. The staff was very friendly and although they had a long line of customers, they didn't get flustered and moved quickly to get everyone's order to them as soon as possible. read more

The manager is so mean to her employees. When I walked the store, the card machine and computer system were having issues and the manager, with an attitude, was walked to the front to cash out the customer. When it was my turn to order and pay, same issue. The cashier told me the issue and it would be a wait to fix it and offered a smoothie for my wait. The manager walked up and said it was something the cashier was doing wrong and that she was going to take him off the register because of his error. When she saw the smoothie he had offered, she said "no, give her a cookie". The machine was still having issues, so I paid in cash. I felt so bad for the cashier, his manager scolded him in front of a customer. read more

Having been burned by so many "Freshens" smoothie places near campuses, I was expecting Tropical Smoothie to be yet another low-quality, gimmick-ridden smoothie joint with sad workers and awful music. I was mostly wrong! The smoothies I've had (Health Nut, Peanut Butter Cup) have been excellent. I want whatever they have for a blender, because it's extremely rare to get anything that isn't straw-able there. Added flavors are done with restraint - stuff isn't too sweet or too understated. Sandwiches are great - the chicken pesto flatbread is wonderful, and that they have "Beyond Meat" meatless chicken at a Valdosta establishment is astounding. The service is fine. They're efficient, appropriately polite, and concentrated on their work. Maybe it's the Northerner in me, but that's what I like in a limited-service establishment - none of this "Welcome to INSERT NAME HERE!" fakery. The music is awful. It's a melange of radio-friendly hits and repulsive pop-country. If that's a satellite radio station, they need to change it immediately. Every other song makes me want to leave. (Edit: This has changed lately! Much better, guys! Or am I just coming in at lucky times?) Still, I've become a regular! It's a safe bet for lunch. read more

I think I've finally found a smoothie place that can satisfy my Jamba Juice fix while I'm here in Valdosta. And although I didn't order any of their wraps. It all looked really good. I don't think there aren't a lot of these around rural areas so I keep coming back because I don't have much choice. But the other reviewers are right. I've found the staff here to be unfriendly or at least not positive. But the store seems clean and the food is on par with other TSCs. However, despite breakfast items showing on the menu, this location no longer makes anything with eggs. They told me rural Georgians prefer to eat at places like Hardees so they couldn't afford to keep supplies to rarely make those. Disappointing but fair enough. They should take those items off the menu or cover them, though. Two outside tables are available so you can bring your dog. If you're not from here and are just passing through, it's a little off the beaten path but not too hard to find. read more

Workers take terribly too long. Saw a couple employees just standing around while one handled my money then without cleaning his hands, handled the fruit the went into my drink. Every time I've been here they've got my order wrong. Food and drinks taste terrible, and they put sugar (simple syrup) in every drink they make *without informing customers*. I feel compelled to start out with this is a 4.5 star review. Ok, now that i've established how i really feel, we can get started. This place pretty much fucking rocks! I've been a few times before i started yelping, awesome. So i decided to come back and give a review that would provide details from a recent experience. I'm tired of being fat, so I order something with fat burner in it, the guy politely gives me a list of choices that I have, niceness noted. He didn't even look at me like I was a walking goodyear tire. Turns out, if you order a sandwhich or wrap or entree item, you can add a smoothie for like 3 bucks?? Can't beat that with a stick! So of course I had to go that route. I pay for the order, sit down for literally, less than 4 minutes, and my order is ready! And i'm out the door!! We ordered two detox island greens with no added sweetener and they both tasted like flavored ice. The smoothie was overwhelmingly diluted. The container was at least half full of ice plus extra water was added. After everything was blended and the cup was filled 1/3 of the smoothie was pored down the drain. Both of the smoothies had a light lime green color not the deep green that is advertised. I thanked to the manager about how the smoothie tasted so he offered to remake it but he had to trash the drink with the Styrofoam cup. The next drink was slightly better but still tasted quite weak and bland even with the ginger in it. The Acai smoothie was decant thus one star. To the two grown ups it was still overwhelmingly sweet even with no added sugar. From watching the proses it appears to me that this place could use more accurate portion measurements to prevent diluting the ingredients and wasting unnecessary extra. *i do want to include that the workers are quite friendly and helpful. read more

The only downside is the music, country music does not fit the vibrant tropical feel that the place should have. Perhaps I have been spoiled by smoothie chains like Jamba Juice, whose employees earnestly greet you within seconds of walking into their shop, but I frankly think there's something nice about their cheery customer service. This afternoon I went to Tropical Smoothie, and wasn't even greeted with a "Hi," let alone a smile. The employee, presumably the manager, had a personality more suited to reside in the back organizing the frozen fruit. You would think that a franchise trying to evoke feelings of tropical bliss would ingrain an 'aloha' spirit in their workforce. Not so. Not only was I limited by the size of drink I could order- I was told I could only get a 24 oz- I wasted my breath thanking him and telling him to have a nice day. C'mon, Dude. That's what YOU'RE supposed to say. I love tropical smoothie literally go at least twice a week in Atlanta. On our way back to Atl we stopped in Valdosta at tropical smoothie because I needed a boost. We both order chia banana boost. Had to send our smoothie back twice! Way too much was in the smoothie both times makes it taste watered down and harder to drink. A lot of confusion of who ordered what?!
