ZERO STARS STAY AWAY FROM HERE GO TO THE ROMULUS LOCATION This store is absolute dog crap, they never make the smoothies properly let alone even pay attention enough when you are in store. My fiancé placed an order tonight using her BIRTHDAY REWARD and when I showed up at 845pm the store was closed with their employees standing outside waiting for their rides. Order food online at around 730. Got to the restaurant and they didn't make the food, just smoothies. Told me they weren't making food anymore. Still was charged. (They did say I'd get a refund....) but if food isn't being made why am I able to Order it on the app. This is frustrating. I don't get who gets to close early and just stop half your service. This was my first time having a smoothie from Tropical, and this wasn't your normal experience. I was headed to a friend's house when she called me to see if I'd be willing to stop and pick us up smoothies. Of course, I said yes. As I was driving she ran through some of the smoothie options but I was having a difficult time deciding. I got to Tropical before either of us had made a decision so I looked at their menu myself. After some time, I decided on Açaí blueberry - so my friend placed our order and paid for it. My only job was to give the employees a few minutes to get our order ready, then walk in to get them. And I did just that. Our three smoothies were prepared quickly and I was out the door. Simple process! The inside is very trendy and clean and the employees were friendly. I really enjoyed the mixture of flavors in my smoothie. The best part was that I was getting in fruit in a delicious way. Next time I hope to incorporate some greens into the mix! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This location really makes my blood boil. The service is ALWAYS trash, my order is always TRASH and there needs to be some type of training on how you treat customers. I paid for something extra and didn't receive it and was told "for future reference, that's the extra amount" when in reality it wasn't. I'm tired of always begging them to do their job. Nice tropical vibe with generously large smoothie cup and delicious flatbreads. Family friendly, charging plugs available. The cafe is in a strip mall area with parking. It's nice to come to a tropical cafe in the middle of winter when you're out of town. The staffs were friendly and brought out my food for me. I ordered two smoothies this morning. I got there at 7am and they were not open until about 7:05am. I normally wouldcare but I was heading to work so I needed them to be open on time. I ordered the peaches and silk and the kiwi quencher. Both employees seemed to be thoroughly annoyed that I came this early so that wasn't exactly pleasant to have first thing in the morning. Took 15 minutes of standing in a line wrapped around the store. Guy takes 2 orders and goes off and does other things for 10 minutes then comes back and repeats. It takes a crew of 4-5 people almost 20 minutes just to make one smoothie. This place needs to shut down until the employees are properly trained. Nobody knows what's going on in this place. They are not friendly and upbeat as the rest- random hellos and goodbyes- the orders are wrong often and always at the expense of the guest. 3 horrible experiences at the location in Wayne on Michigan Avenue. The son of the owner is absolutely unprofessional and unqualified for his position in my opinion. 1st instance- order delivery 2 sandwiches extra on all meats that's an extra $7 something for bacon, ham, and turkey extra- almost the cost if the sandwich so I'm expecting a beauty- pictures attached- as you can see they took my money and kept their product. Tried to call the location for over an hour and a half to busy signals and no answer when they were open. Called the Corp left a message- no response. Stopped up the next time I had time and explained to the cashier because no manager was onsite gave my credit card number and showed receipts and our tires to no one reaching out to me- had to stop back in next time i was able to see a manager- i did and shared pictures and receipt- this process took almost 5 minutes of conversation for the managers response to be so what you would like? Really? I asked for at least my money back for what I didn't receive- he calculated the exact change and gave it back in cash- was not friendly about it. 2nd instance- ordered through the app a delivery- door dash delivers only my smoothie no flatbread. I show DoorDash my order they show me theirs- I call tropical smoothie customer service I'm told I can reorder and repay and need to talk to the location for a refund. I go up to the tropical smoothie next time I'm able and explain to the same manager- this process takes awhile as the first one did- However as soon as I mentioned the day and flatbread he knew exactly what I was referring to and explained how DoorDash isn't receiving all the order and it's on their end and the staff should do a better job of checking. He also explained for the inconvenience he would refund me the entire order which I thought was appropriate 2nd order in a row incorrect from the same cafe makes sense to me to get my money back. I get the credit on my statement for only the flatbread. I go into the location today same manager is there. I order my smoothie with the cashier and ask to speak to him- he is having conversations with a friend at the moment catching up he noticed us waiting came over- I reminded him of the situation with the flatbread- he cannot remember asks if I spoke to his dad- I explained I was only credited for the flatbread not the entire order as explained. His entire presence wasn't inviting as he continued to cut me off and explain he doesn't over promise and I didn't receive the flatbread and that was refunded. Very dismissive and unprofessional -Wow 3 horrible experiences talked with the same customer two times and this is the way he chooses to handle it? He was very rude and frustrating to the point I accidentally used the f word (are you .. kidding me!) He refused to speak to me at that point. The one on Ford in Canton is amazing the one on Warren in westland is amazing! This location doesn't represent the brand in any positive light. I open franchise locations for a different concept and if anything like this were to occur at a location I would hope to find out about it so I could coach teach and developed this group into better business decisions. I have shared my frustrations with the corporate office three times and have not once received a call back so I hope this review reaches someone at Tropical smoothie as well. read more

The tropical smoothie on 35131 E Michigan Ave Wayne, MI 48184 United States is under horrible management. They claim to stop serving food after 6 even thought they close at 7. Ordered food at 6:25 online, money was taken and order was confirmed however when it was 7 and my food had not been made I called the store. Employee told me they never received my order and left me to be stolen from by tropical smoothie. Went in the next day to complain and the manager, Lamontt M. was completely unhelpful and came across as sexist. Told me it was impossible that I ordered after 6 even thought I showed him my receipt. DO NOT GO HERE! OWNER DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS OR ACT LIKE RESPECTABLE PERSON! Actual number is 0 out of 5. I have been coming here everyday for the last week, most of my visits have been pleasent because the restaurant was literally empty everytime I went. Today there was a line almost out side the door. Because I am on lunch, I order my food online before driving to the restaurant. Today my order was made at 11:42 and my email reciept stated my food would be ready at 11:52. It takes me about 20 minutes to drive from where I work to get to the restaurant as it is the closest Tropical Smoothie Cafe. This would have put me at the restaurant about 12:10pm. The reciept states that online orders can be picked up at the online order section or from a worker. When I got to the restaurant, I entered after two women who immedietly got in line with about 8 people in front of them. I walked over to the online order section and could see my food sitting in the cooler behind the register. After waiting about 5 minutes the worker at the register asked if anyone had an online order. One other gentlemen (directly in front of me) raised his hand as did I. The cashier helped the gentlemen in front of me and then took the order of the next person in the order line. at 12:22 when the two women I had walked in were about to order, I finally spoke up and said "Can I get my food, I've been waiting for 15 minutes" Remember I entered about 12:10. The cashier's response was "No you didn't" He then turned around to get my food. When I asked for the manager he gave me a cocky look and said "I am the manager." So I asked for the store manager and he turned his back on me to help the next customer. As I was in the process of asking for his name so I could leave a complaint another gentleman came from the back. He said he was the owner and that the cashier was his son. I started to explain to him why I was upset and I mispoke and said that I had entered the building at 12. The OWNER cuts me off and says "I was out here at 12 stocking ice, you were really out here at 12?" After I corrected myself, the owner cuts me off again "I heard him ask for online orders." I told him that I did raise my hand and he still didn't help me. The owner then tells me it was because I was standing in the wrong line, when I explain that no I wasn't and go to show him where I was standing, he AGAIN cuts me off to say he knows where I was standing. I brought up the online order pickup and he said they don't use it. I told him the recipet told me to pick my order up from there and he said no they don't. I then SHOWED him the reciept where YES it does say that and he told me not to tell him how to run his buisness. What made me lose all respect for the owner as a person or buisness owner is when he told me not to raise my voice at him, yet he's supposed to hear me through a medical mask AND at least 2 blenders going off right next to us. DO NOT GO HERE. I now know why they're empty more than they're busy. read more
