So I really like this place, and not just because of the smoothies. The service is solid and fast, the smoothies are very good, but the real shocker about this spot is their wraps, flat breads, etc...I love the Buffalo chicken one myself. And all the meat is fresh white meat, most of then are very low calorie, and they taste delicious. I really recommend getting lunch there, even if you don't want a smoothie. Smoothie wise they are very good, a little healthier than Jamba juice, but they also have a million options to make your smoothie healthier. They also have tons of ad-ins, and you can get them to add whatever ingredient they have to your smoothie whether or not it's in the recipe. I have ONE and only ONE complaint, but it makes a huge difference for me. I need my smoothies to be tart. Razzmatazz was my favorite Jamba juice one...unfortunately, this location or maybe the franchise, does not carry raspberries!!!! They make every smoothie better. Listen this place is running well and it's doing good, but I have a few tips to make it better. First, the place needs to be cleaned/maintained a bit because they had the broom out, crumbs on the table, napkins weren't restocked, things were a bit unorganized, you know just little stuff like that. And for the food the smoothies were brought out super quick but they tasted very watered down, my chicken quesadilla was delicious tho, the only thing is that we were waiting for our food for quite some time so we went to ask about it and it had been sitting on the counter for the entire time, and no one told us our order was ready. So all I have to say is work on keeping the place a bit more clean, and call the name on the order so it's not just sitting there. read more

I just left Tropical Smoothie Cafe 10 minutes ago, where I stood for approximately 5 minutes before a person asked anything of me. To put it in perspective, i stand 6 foot 2 and about a donut a way from 370. So, my presence should have been felt or acknowledged in some capacity. No hello or welcome to Smoothie King was uttered by any worker while I stood there waiting to be served. Mind you, I counted at least 3 workers who knew I was standing at the counter, which included 1 female to the left of me, yapping it up with two other (females/ non employees). This same worker remained in conversation and not once tried to divert her attention to the only person in my area, which was yours truly. There was another worker who twice ventured into my +vicinity to give a sandwich to a patron who glanced in my direction, but no verbal response or salutation was uttered to me. Another employee came from the back of the establishment to drop a sandwich off to another employee; she briefly made eye contact with me before scrurrying back to whatever she was doing. All this back and forth is occurring while that same employee is indulging in whatever nonsensical converation that millennials have at any given point in time. To say that i'm disappointed would be an understatement, i drove past a Smoothie King, waisting gas, of course, to give Tropical Smoothie Cafe my business. I love tropical smoothie on Hays Lane. I never had a problem with my order until yesterday 04/18/2024. I didn't receive my presto chicken Flatbread. I had the order delivered. It was a busy day for me at the salon. I went to eat something and was advised that no Flatbread was in the bag. My fellow employee walked over to tropical smoothie to see if it was there because it was not received. She was told by an employee that she was not there so she didn't know if we received it or not so she could not give it even though I sent over the receipt. I was charged for it still. Update review! Yesterday morning went in and order my smoothies and hummus wrap. Everything was fine but the wrap I knew they where new girls working , which they were nice. When I went to eat my wrap for lunch it was mostly full of Lettuce and no spinach or kale... it was really disappointing the manager on duty said I can come back for another one but I didn't feel like eating it no more and probably won't for a while. Hopefully they will train new people better or make sure there's someone with them until they've work there for month or so. (This location is great! No soap in bathroom, I told manager I cant wash my hands and neither can your employees, he informs me that they have a mandatory sink in the food prep area they have to use....great so walk their dirty hands to the food prep area to wash up, he put soap and I realized the hand dryer does mot work, I let staff know they said "Lots of people say that..." sounds like a ongoing problem. Daughter wanted a smoothie and this place used to be fine but we walked in, 4 girls were there but only one was working. it smelled a bit like a gas station bathroom and we noticed but they didn't. Place was dirty but they did t seem to care. They took our orders and we payed, 5 minutes later we are told that they had no watermelon for my drink so I asked for a refund...was told the manager would be back and could give me one, I refused since I had paid cash and they conceded. I really was excited to try this place. I like healthy choices when it comes to eating out. So, the gal who waited on me sneezed and coughed and didn't wash her hands and then she scratched her face as she took my money. Strike One. She made my smoothie but, did not actually touch the items put in the smoothie. Still, you need to teach your workers clean hand hygiene. She was talking to her coworkers about how gross the smoothie preparation area was out loud. It didn't paint the best picture for someone who was about to try their food for the first time. A guy made my wrap and I sat on the side of the pick up counter. You have full view of the meal preparation area as well as into the back. They rolled my wrap on the prep board but, it was so dirty. There was so much random food scraps sitting all over. It seriously made me cringe. While my wrap was being heated up, the workers were on cell phones and it was gross. He did have gloves on thank goodness. Strike Two.... The kale and apple salad I got as a side, sounded so good. To my dismay, it was brown and obviously was made a while ago. It was not fresh and I did not eat it. Strike Three... I am so bummed. $12 later and not impressed. Hygiene and cleanliness is so important to me at restaurants. This is something that can be taught and improved but, as a newer location I would of hoped they would be up to par and take some pride in running a clean business. Positives, nice diverse menu and great smoothie line-up. The Jamaican Jerk wrap was pretty good and a decent portion. I had the Detox Green smoothie and it came in a huge cup and could of been a meal in itself. They struck out with me but, that doesn't mean you won't have a good experience maybe. Wow, so bad. We have been members of tropical smoothie for years in a few states. This is THE WORST location. App doesn't work at all. Spent 20 minutes in their parking lot trying to make it work. You can't go in due to COVID (which I agree with) so we called. She repeated everything. 25 minutes later we call for an update. (No one in parking lot but us). She says she will bring them right out. Yeah... they were sitting. The whole order was wrong. All the chicken (so gross) was cold. My daughter and husband both chucked it right in the trash. This store sucks. The app sucks. I HATE THIS PLACE. My 17 year old picky eater wants it weekly. So weekly I fight with the app or they don't answer the phone. They need to OPEN THE COUNTER (not dining) OR HIRE MORE PEOPLE OR GET A NEW PHONE LINE OR FIX THEIR SUCKY APP. I told my daughter today that I will never go there again and that if she wants their food, go get it herself. I am done. I always come into the location near Hoggard and never have a bad experience! Food is always fresh, delicious and on time. However, I am not going to be coming back to the Porters Neck location. The food was good, and so was my smoothie, but as I was eating I couldn't concentrate because I could hear the workers being screamed at from the back. It was very unprofessional, and I did not like the atmosphere it gave having to listen to the manager yell so loud that everyone in the store can hear. Smoothies were good but service was poor. My card number had to be written down because the registers were down and they weren't able to take payment. They also skipped my order and I ended up waiting over 20 minutes although they weren't that busy. Nobody even apologized for the wait or expressed any concern for the fact that my order was skipped several times, causing the long wait.
