A year later and I still find myself here from time to time and the service is still as good as it used to be! Still my go to spot whenever I am craving a smoothie!! The customer service is still stellar and I like that they still greet you upon entry. I stuck with my typical, Jetty Punch and it was just as delightful as I expected. Since the onset of their app, I do use it every time I go because once you earn rewards with each person. I use to live coming here, today I noticed the girl at the register was high. Don't believe drug test her. Short girl with brown and blonde hair. I paid extra for extra fruit multivitamins etc. I asked if the remaining smoothie be put in a small cup. Obviously if more things are added there would be more left over. Well, as I watched them make my shake and fill up my cup, I also noticed there was left over in the blender. The girl doing the blender immediately grabbed the blender water in the blender. The short high girl -comes over and tells me there was non left when I told her there was more left she said oh there was only a little bit left. We love Tropical Smoothie!  I try to visit one whenever I can around lunch time.  Alexandria, Fairfax, Reston, Arlington, Baltimore....wherever I'm at I look for a Tropical Smoothie. We used to love coming here to the Prince William Parkway one, but frankly it has become 50/50.  50% of the time my order is right, and 50% of the time it is not.  50% of the time my Mocha Madness smoothie tastes like the brand standard, and 50% of the time it does not. The people here are great.  Everyone here is incredibly nice, friendly, and sweet as can be, it's just inconsistent which is not what I want when I order the same thing every visit.  Some of their competitors, for instance the one in Lake Ridge about 2 miles down Smoketown Road from this Tropical Smoothie location, nail every order exactly the same.  They get the consistency part down pat. I hope Management or Ownership can pinpoint what's going on here.  I'll probably not be back for a while since today my sandwich was made wrong, and my smoothie tasted the worst it has ever tasted.  It was corrected, but still just avoid the extra step to begin with. I waited a few more days seconds and still no greeting so I proceeded with my order. I also ordered the avocado grilled cheese which was not grilled as should be. Bottom line up front- good smoothies and friendly service with a staff who was willing to substitute items if you need to, or just want to. I'm not a big banana guy, but I got the Pomegranate Plunge that comes with pomegranate, banana, cranberry and strawberries. First visit to this store AND this chain, will not be our last. On a rather hot day, boyfriend and I were shopping at nearby 2nd & Charles when I brought up that smoothies sounded really good. He agreed and we walked over. Lots of people waiting for drinks and they were served quickly. We were able to order within a minute of walking in the door and our drinks were out in less than five. We were both *very* pleased with our smoothies and will be returning to get more and possibly food as well. More of a 3.5 vs 4.0 star visit but it was very good so I'll boost it to 4 :) read more

I have to start off by saying how much I love tropical smoothie, and that I frequent the all the locations in Woodbridge and Stafford. Yesterday 5/4/20 my husband and I placed our order through the Tropical Smoothie app; after about 15 minutes he went in to pick up our order which was ready. He puts his mask on and goes into the restaurant and comes back to the car with our drinks but was explaining we should toss them (he was like $13 drinks are not worth getting sick). He explained that even though we are the middle of a PANDEMIC the staff preparing food and drinks are not wearing face masks or one had one on but tucked under her chin. The staff were laughing and talking as they normally would over customers food and drinks. We spoke about it for a moment and decided to go back and return the drinks and request a refund. We ask for the manager and the women said she was; I politely explained that we felt uncomfortable eating from any restaurant where sanitary protocol (they do have shields up at the register) isn't in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. She giggled, and said she can't complete refunds but her boss would be in later and would process the refund through the app. To the store manager, I hope you take this opportunity to improve the COVID protocol at your store. Other Tropical Smoothies around the area are usually consistent - I did have a couple watery ones at other locations, but it's not a reoccurring problem. I came in on a busy Thursday during lunch. The line was long, but the staff cranked out the food and drinks quickly and consistently. One thing to note: I don't mind Spanish music! However, I hear it every time I go in. I think it would be nice to mix up the track a bit considering the different age groups and demographic differences of their customers. The cashier at this location on Thursday, June 11 at approximately 11:15 AM did not enforce the requirement to wear a mask for two customers. When I asked if patrons are required to wear a mask, he stated, "yes, but I'm not going to enforce it...what will I do, call the cops? There's no one in here." There were two other customers. I would not expect an establishment to call the police for a customer or two for not wearing a mask, but I do expect establishments to enforce the rules to the best of their ability. Just to be clear, this rating is not a reflection of Tropical Smoothie or its food, this is about the mediocre staffing in the Woodbridge location. The Tropical Smoothie chain is fantastic. They got great food and awesome smoothies. My regular location I visit in Herndon is on point. This Woodbridge location, not so much. I've been here at least 5 separate occasions. The first 3 visits, my orders were wrong. I keep coming back only because I like the food. Imo, waiting for almost 20 minutes for a sandwich is crazy. Especially when you see a staff of about 5 people back behind the register... (Only 2 other people in front of me waiting for their food, otherwise the place is empty) Herndon has 2-3 people working (one register and 1-2 prepping) and I manage to get my food much faster. (This is during prime time lunch hour too btw.) Is this a comparison of store locations? Kind of. If I go to one store and get good service, I expect the same service at another. I came in this morning for a cranberry truffle smoothie. First of all I was told they don't have happy hour?? I showed my military ID & my total was still $5 and some change when the discount makes the total less than that. I didn't argue & proceeded to pay. I waited for my smoothie and when I tasted it, I thought it was too sweet & didn't have any white chocolate but still manageable to drink. The more I drank it, I realized I could not finish it so I returned to the store for them to remake it. I told the cashier my problem with the taste and white chocolate & she told me there was some in it but they'd still remake it for me. It took 2 seconds but that's only because they poured my super sweet smoothie and some chocolate into the blender and gave it back to me. Now I had an extra sweet smoothie with added chocolate that was super runny. I didn't want to cause havoc so I left. It's not hard to NOT mess up the smoothie. Two stars for the delicious smoothie, good customer service at the counter and how quickly I received said smoothie. The lack of three stars is for the employee who took who I presume were her two children behind the counter where the food and smoothies are prepared. Now I'm all for a mother getting her coins to support her children, but I don't think it's hygienic, safe or professional to push your child's stroller up to and then behind the counter, put your child (who looked to be about a one-year-old girl) on your hip and then go behind the counter just before telling your eight or so year old son to follow you. I. Could. Not. Believe. It. And all the employees continued working like it was the normal Tropical Smoothie daycare center as her son ran to her all the way in the back.
