There's nothing better than a cold shaved ice on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, hot summer days seem to be few and far between this summer. But Tropical Sno hasn't left for warmer climates. They still sit there in their iddy biddy transportable shack waiting for the line of kids to come devour their deliciousness. I heard that the lady who owns this place used to work in law but retired to run Tropical Sno because it was much more lucrative. I don't know if that's true, but if it is, I can see why, with the lines they have during hot weather. With more than 50 flavors, they have pretty much anything you could possibly want or imagine, and they let you mix. So there's that. I'm not gonna lie, I've added vodka to mine once or twice. It helps that I live directly across the street so I can turn it into a cocktail whenever I feel like it. My favorite is definitely the Tiger's Blood (strawberry coconut). And unlike the sno cones you get at the carnival, they're actually generous with the syrup here, so whether it's your first bite or your last, they all burst with sweet goodness. read more

There are like 50 different flavors and a bunch of flavor combinations. I had the Mai-Tai on my last visit - yum!! It was good, fair priced....line was huge.. for awhile myself at 30 years of age.. was the oldest one there (haha!) *Side Note to teens*.. you guys drive like maniacs MANIACS in that parking lot...when your backing out LOOK behind you... I don't know how I haven't written a review for t sno yet! This is a summertime staple, starting from the day I coul drive until now! There's usually a line when you go, but that'll give you time to study the big menu and (maybe) make a decision. This place can also get overrun with teenagers, so just be ready. Their prices are tax-included making it easy to work with cash for your shaved ice. I haven't had one bad flavor- beware though, the flavors are sugar-high sweet. I usually only manage this 1-2 times per summer, but always look forward to when I can go back again! Personal favs are tamarind (like a crazy iced tea flavor), tiger's blood, and the sunrise flavor (I think thats what it is- strawberry/orange/pineapple combo). Cranky girl arrived 10 minutes after opening time. Never said Hello, Sorry! Or I'll be right with you. Standing outside on the dirty pavement with the dozens of bees waiting while cranky girl took her time, getting out the ice, putting out the chairs, putting up the umbrella, and who knows what else, the four kids I was with opted for the much cheaper & shorter wait time at McDonalds. We waited patiently for 15 minutes. Never once did she even acknowledge us. So, at $3.00 for a small ice, you just lost $15.00 & a tip. read more

T Sno is the bomb.com! For melt in your mouth deliciousness, stop at Tropical Sno. Watch out for long lines of high school kids from the surrounding, like, 15 high schools, on summer nights. With probably more than 50 flavors to choose from (I never counted them all), you make use of waiting in line. One summer we tried to try them all (didn't happen - ran out of time!). I've been coming to this spot since I was very young and have always been pleased with the same results. On this particular occasion, I received a cherry sno cone that had no taste whatsoever. I assumed the syrup must've been watered down or something. I politely asked if I could get a different flavor since this one was extremely obviously not up to par. I was replied to with the most disrespectful comments, one of which including "What do you want me to say, it's ice. Of course there's water." Last time I checked, good customer service does not involve degrading the customer. I am a high schooler with a summer job too, so I understand quite well how expendable teenagers are in this competitive job market. Someone holding that position over someone else should not respond to a customer with such unprofessionalism. read more

It was very good. You can tell that they can be very busy at times and the line probably can get very long. It says you can only get two flavors on the large size but the listed combinations are already mixed together so you can get a smaller size. They only take cash....so sorry leave your plastic at home! The employees where pleasant and the small seating area was clean of sticky messes. Tropical Sno is most definitely the best shaved ice place in the area. In addition to this, I cannot understand why one of the reviewers is criticizing their hours. Do you really think that Tropical Sno never thought that they might be able to attract as many customers in May and September? Let me inform you of a well known fact: most school years (excepting colleges) end at the end of May (when T Sno opens--Memorial Day weekend) and begin again at the start of September (when T Sno closes). Tropical Sno loses a tremendous amount of business when school starts. Furthermore, yes, there may be a few scorching hot days before Memorial Day or after Labor Day, but the weather is slightly colder overall, enough that it would drive away a significant amount of business. Their business practices are clearly sound, and judging by the droves of people the line up each and every night from June to August, I'd say that people are very thankful for the time that it is open.
