The whole experience was awful. The teenager at the register had a constant attitude throughout our whole interaction. They messed up my ice cream order and when i asked them to fix it they said it was too late and they couldn't do anything about it. my whole visit was disappointing, and will not be returning to this store. Additionally the worker handling peanuts, and other toppings wasn't wearing any gloves, while making ice cream which can be dangerous for people with allergies and really unsanitary. read more

It's ok--a Dairy Queen where you can get the things you usually want to get at DQ. I stopped here because I was very much craving a blizzard. It's a very small location with no drive through but plenty of parking since it's located in a shopping center. But when I stopped in, the bathroom was under repair. Hope they're getting that taken care of because it is indeed incredibly inconvenient for customers (and employees, I'd assume). It's a fairly small DQ with only maybe four or so tables and I'm not sure they sell food here besides ice cream treats. read more

It's like it was 1965. I went to the DQ in Westmont with my 3 grandkids for an after school treat. Unfortunately, I realized I left my wallet at home. We had already placed our order. They have a great menu here, not too basic and not over the top. The RIGHT blend of DQ classics and bold new combinations that you want to try. Went in for one cotton candy blizzard and walked out buying half the store! We met the owner and she is so focused on excellent customer outcomes, and you feel it. She knows what her customers favorites are and she tries to anticipate that and it shows. This is a new Dairy Queen to our area and we could use a good one. I am withholding a 5 star until they get "organized". The Sunday night we were there, the staff seemed to be having communication problems with protocol for orders and processing. I am hopeful this will get worked out and our next visit will go more smoothly. Examples: 5 groups of ice cream orders and service was out of order so waiting customers were frustrated & staff not sure how to make "a Boston" so they had to find the "recipe". However, customers did get served with smiles and happy attitudes which worth a lot and they did find the "recipe" and our Boston was correct. I adore their still of hanging the concrete shakes upside down to prove they are "solid". Very Fun. We will be back and I will update this post after our next visit. The staff here could not be any nicer. I came in for a cake for my son's birthday and he explained how you can order and the process. I ended up taking one of their premade cakes and the gentleman (I wish I got his name) was more than helpful in decorating the cake and giving me plenty of options. When all the other locations are closed for the season---this location pulled through to be the provider of an awesome birthday ice cream cake!!! Woohoo!!!! Rolled up in there on new years eve and they greeted me with open arms and non creepy smiles! I had to retrieve a ice cream cake for a friends birthday and due to poor planning was completely last minute. The owner was very helpful and explained what products they had available and offered to write on the cake--to help with my procrastination issues. Everyone knows the best part of their ice cream cake is that fudge cookie crumble thingy in the middle----good to know that if I pre-order I can ask for a double helping in the middle-----yes! I ordered a cake for my daughter's graduation. It turned out exactly like I asked! I asked to pick it up on Wednesday 6/3, but due to problems with upcoming protests in various areas, business have been asked to close early. We were called at 11:00 am to ask if we could pick up the cake a day early because they were not sure if they would be able to open the following day due to protesting/rioting that has been going on all over the Chicago area. I had gone over hoping to get rolled ice cream from Big Boss last week only to find that it has closed. In comes Dairy Queen for the rescue! (this is the only place in the strip mall to get ice cream.) I came in and asked for a Freeze (slushy mixed with ice cream) it's not on the menu but the guy there still made it for me! Yesterday a co-worker picked up an ice cream cake for another co-workers going away party and it was delicious. RUDENESS. older woman was taking orders while she was yelling at someone on the phone, then got upset with me when she got my order wrong. I came for the buy one get one free cone, asked for sprinkles with it and she said NO we can't do that. A young girl asked for a cup or water she told her NO WE CAN ONLY SELL BOTTLED WATER. So cheap! On March 20, 2019 it was free cone day. The woman who was taking our order was understandably frustrated because the line was long and everyone was only getting free cones. When it was my turn to order I wanted to get five cones four dipped and one regular. She responded rudely saying that I only see four of you and that doesn't add up. I explained that we were getting one for our friend in the car and she responded no I can't do that. I understood yet she did not have to be rude about it. I then continued to pay but she informed me if I paid with card I would have to paid an up charge since it was not a minimum of $5. I then said never mind and changed my order to 4 regular cones and she rolled her eyes cancelling the order and getting our free cones. This Dairy Queen is great not only because of the delicious treats, but because of the staff. The first time we came in over the summer it was a gentlemen taking care of us, and he was very kind and helpful in giving us suggestions. Tonight we stopped by for some blizzards, and a very nice lady helped us. She was very warm and genuine which is very hard to find now a days. This Dairy Queen should be the face of the entire franchise. I always come to this Dairy Queen even though there are few others closer to me; simply because the owners are extremely down to earth and friendly. The costumer in front of me was making a large scene over something she was at fault for, and the employees handled her very calmly. I have never had a bad experience and I am always served with a smile and I get my treats quickly and made with perfection. The store is always spotless, even during the busiest hours. Best location for DQ. Man is very friendly, and is completely sweet. We walked in at 9:15pm and found out that their winter hours close at 9pm. Man didn't say anything except hello and what can I do for you. We asked if it was okay if we went in and he said yeah, but the only machines open now are the cones and something else. Went last night, they were very busy and only one person was working. After about 10 minutes an older woman came in to help. She went directly to working the register from the outside, did not wash her hands. While waiting on the first customer proceeded to cough in her hands twice. Then went on to make their order, once again no hand wash ( after handing $) and no gloves. Just yuck. read more

I love how this DQ has the grill. Ones I have been to do not, so this is great to have during lunch and treat yourself to a soft serve.

The staff and service is rude and very unprofessional. Today I went in and bought a ice cream cake and asked if they can incrave it with frosting on it. The server from cash register refuse to do it. Gave me some stupid lame excuse of some law. She also said, "You need to call ahead next time." I'm like what?! Called ahead? For what?! Just to incrave a cake to put on frosting my 9 year old niece can probably do it. I can probably do it myself. It's like I was asking to make drawing of marvel figure or toy story character. All I wanted was for them to put an engraving that said Happy Birthday of frosting on the cake. I bought the cake and left went to another dairy queen. The only reason I bought it cause it was small and it was Mint Chocolate Chip.They were happy to do it without any charge. I love it here! End up buying a small blizzard to go. Definitely will boycott this location on westmont. They have much better service in Orland Park. The young lady at Orland Park thought it was stupid and ridiculous as well. read more

This Dairy Queen makes the absolute BEST ice cream cakes!! I buy al least 4 ice cream cakes per year here and they always taste great and look tremendous. They listen carefully to what is desired and do their best to make each cake exactly what my grandchildren wish. Even when they cannot duplicate a team logo because of licensing infringement, they come up with a creative plan to make a wonderful cake. This Dairy Queen is not the closest to my home, but their caring and courtesy goes way above what is expected. read more
