Honeydew, tiramisu, matcha, and vanilla ice cream.

The best and I mean the best place for the best sweetest meals and drinks!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside was very welcoming and the employees are the sweetest people ever.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks are literally made out of love! So well balanced. The ice creams are smoothest I've ever seen! Didn't right away melted!

We absolutely love the ice cream and smoothies! The ube/taro is homemade as is the matcha. I have tried the ube/taro with vanilla and it absolutely blew me away it was so good!! My wife loved the boba drinks as do I. They have simple as well as lots of variety and you can request less or more sugar to suit your tastes or health. They also have waffles that are screaming. Someone had bought a matcha waffle and gave a chunk to my daughter and I tried it and was absolutely delicious. The people working there own the place and are very nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is just decent. Not amazing but it's ok.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check their days and hours of business tho cos they aren't open all day every day like most places are. But we love this place and will continue coming back. The desserts are so amazing. Also they serve fried chicken and short ribs tho we haven't tried them yet! 10 stars!!!!

I think your place is very original & authentic. They also reflect pride in craftsmanship. It's a huge photo opp inside, very cutely decorated. We've only gotten the taros (Gigi Slush), but we need to go back for something new. Everything looks so amazing and I'm confident ANYTHING we order will be as delicious or better than what we've had so far. Also, my son hated boba drinks, was very closed minded to them. When we walked in to Tropical he immediately became open minded. Now, he won't stfu about returning... I've created a monster. Our first time, the man working, I'm thinking owner, came out from around the counter to greet us and explain each and every menu item. If I ever said customer service was declining... Not in here. The second time we went, we were welcomed back which was a pleasant surprise bc usually I'm not recognized until my repeat business is at it's 7th. Or, remembered instantly bc of my Tips! But, second time we got to meet THEE Gigi of Gigi's Taro, she's as beautiful as her drink. Hey Tropical, thanks for following me on both of my IG accounts too. See guys... See how down to earth they are? You can see how much they care about their customers & business. Thank you for coming to Salinas, Tropical!

THE BEST boba spot in the area, hands down. Other places can't compare. Authentic boba, wholesome owners, and food is great too! We typically would have to go to San Jose/Sac for good boba but not anymore! This place is great, makes their ingredients fresh and they have a unique menu. The owners are so nice and have great customer service. They have a cute wall to take boba selfies with too I know I'll be visiting frequently and can't wait to see how the small business grows! Ask for "Bevin's favorite" if you want an Oreo Matcha Brown Sugar boba w/ cheese foam. It's the best if you're looking for something sweet; my go-to drink!

As a long time resident of Salinas, a quality boba shop is something we've definitely been missing, and man this is it and so much more. Tropical Vibes goes above and beyond, everything is made from scratch, locally sourced, and the freshest you can get for at least a hundred miles, truly a blessing for the community. The customer service is outstanding, the owners are passionate and caring about the quality and service they provide, and it shows! The shop is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and very welcoming! The drinks are to die for, they're absolutely delicious, and they don't break the bank either! Affordable, refreshing, and tasty! However that's not where this story ends, on-top of serving staple teas, they also serve medicinal teas, unique fusions, and DoleWhip! That's right, DoleWhip! Just like in Disneyland!! Definitely worth a visit for the DoleWhip alone, a quality soft serve that's vegan friendly, that you can't find anywhere else! 5/5 for this location, I wish I could rate it higher! A special thank you to the owners who allowed me to take the pictures of the shop! Greatly appreciated.

Been to Island Fin Poké Company about almost every day, but now since Tropical Vibes has taken over, I have got to say that the food is absolutely amazing, especially the signature drinks like the Blue Passion I have tried is also amazing, and the Vanilla flavored Dole Whip with oreo crumbs is awesome and very good as well!! If you guys have not tried Tropical Vibes just yet, I would highly recommend checking out and trying the place out. The short ribs and lemongrass chicken is awesome!! The staff is very friendly with the best customer service of all time!! Great job, everyone!! Keep up the good work!!

If I could give tropical vibes more then 5 stars I would the owners are so so nice and welcoming. This was my first time trying there drinks I got a matcha strawberry as well as a blue tea and both were fantastic! Everything is freshly made in house (: I was also able to try out some of there vegan ice cream and they were all so delicious I 100000% recommended coming here as I will be coming back to try there entries and waffles

The boba was amazing, best boba spot in Salinas. As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a welcoming hello and you are asked if you have been there before. This is great for new customers that aren't quite sure what to order. She had even given us recommendations when we weren't sure what to get. The whole store was decorated so pretty with beautiful plants all around. The boba was pretty pricey though it was 18 bucks for both of these and they don't have multiple sizes.

I've been coming here with my boyfriend on and off for a while now. The owner is so kind and actually gives helpful advice on what drinks they offer but honestly every time I've come here I find their drinks a miss for me. My boyfriend loves coming here cause he's a taro baby and they do make good taro drinks however I don't like a lot of sugar so my last visit here I asked for less sugar and for context I come from SoCal and a lot of boba shops will have their sugar range from in quarters 25% 50% 75% and full sugar which is really helpful for me especially but when I asked for 75% sugar they didn't understand that and said they'd do less sugar but I never know how much sugar they'll put in my drink. I ordered a cherry blossom drink without the milk so essentially a fruit tea but it practically tasted like water. Another issue I have is their menu, they have premade drinks with different flavors but they are all so complex that sometimes I just want a simple fruit tea and not to mention their menu is small enough already. When I ordered the cherry blossom fruit tea I asked for cheese foam on top and there was a little bit on top so I asked for a bit extra and it wasn't much more they added but the owner mentioned to me "careful it's thick" but actually it wasn't thick at all it was thin there was barely any foam on top and when I tried it, it was not salty nor cheesy it was not flavorful at all which really disappointed me. I wish their menu was more simpler and had more variety of flavors rather than the super sugary complex flavors. I think tropical vibes does a good job at making sugary drinks but if you don't want something as sugary you might not enjoy it here. I ordered a strawberry matcha once or twice before and I never liked it. Sadly I don't think I will return. Another thing to mention is the insane overpricing of their drinks... Be prepared to spend a pretty penny because not to mention they don't have prices of their drinks on the menu. Their menu needs an over hall. I'm not sure if it's because there's no other boba shops open in Salinas but it's definitely rough out here and don't see all the hype. Tropical vibes honestly just does a good job at chocolate and taro drinks but really none of their fruit drinks are good at all.

How much do I love Nico's?…read more Ummm, I came here three days in a row and I'm lactose intolerant. And, it would have been four days but having bubble guts on the drive home...a pop and squat on the side of 101. Probably not the move. In 2021, Nico started his business as a pushcart in Portland. It was so well received that by fall, he opened his first brick and mortar. He now he has four locations including two in CA: Monterey and Santa Cruz. Nico's serves New Zealand Style Ice Cream aka real fruit ice cream. Using a special machine: Little Gem, frozen fruit is blended into hard-packed Tillamook vanilla ice cream creating a custom blended soft serve. Fair warning, if you prefer sugary treats and desserts, Nico's may not hit for you. Fruit Choices: * Monday-Wednesday, Weekends: Strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry * Thursdays only: Banana, mango, and pineapple Toppings (50 cents each) * Sprinkles, coconut flakes, graham crackers, tajín, and chamoy Sizes: * Kid's cone: $6 * Cup: $7 * Waffle cone: $8 They also have bottled water and lactaid for $1 each. MY PICKS (1) Banana w/ coconut flakes (Cup-$7.50) Not sure what sorcery this is but the machine whips up a deliciously creamy, thicccc, and dense soft serve with no air pockets. The banana soft serve low-key tasted like banana pudding with a nutty crunch from the cooconut. So good. As someone who usually can't finish a junior scoop of ice cream because it gets too sweet, I couldn't stop eating this. I especially loved how natural it tasted... lightly sweet, letting the banana flavor really shine. (2) Blueberry w/ graham crackers (Cup-$7.50) Smooth and creamy with bursts of natural sweet tang. The bits of blueberry skin adds a fresh fruit texture. Wish they were more liberal with the graham crackers for a blueberry pie vibes but nonetheless, we enjoyed it. (3) Strawberry (Cup-$7) With strawberry season in full swing, the strawberry soft serve is sweetest of the three but still light and natural. If you like strawberries and cream, this will be your jam. S E R V I C E Friendly and quick. All three visits, there was no line which I don't understand. A M B I A N C E Takeout only. No seating. Overall, as someone who finds most ice cream overly sweet, Nico's really hit the spot. I loved how natural the flavors tasted - they were subtle, well-balanced, and still incredibly satisfying. Intrigued, we decided to step inside and check it out. The building has a wonderful setup, functioning like a mini marketplace with charming little shops nestled inside. The one that immediately caught our eye, of course, was The Penny Ice Creamery. Right off the bat, I loved the aesthetic of the shop. The design is nice, simple, and wonderfully understated--nothing is over the top. It has a clean, minimalist vibe that makes you feel instantly welcome and lets the focus stay right where it belongs: on the treats. While the rest of the crew decided to sit this round out, my son and I eagerly stepped up to order. My son went with a classic scoop of Vanilla Bean. To say it was a hit would be an understatement. He kept talking about how delicious it was and just how good the flavor tasted. I decided to try the Chocolate Toffee Swirl. The chocolate base itself was rich and tasty, though I do wish it had a bit more of that crunch--it could have used a heavier hand with the toffee, as the pieces were a little sparse in my scoop. One thing worth noting is that they feature a curated, rotating selection. While everything they make is fresh, the menu is on the smaller side, so you do have to choose from what's available that day. I'd love to see them expand the menu a bit in the future because I'd definitely be curious to try more of their creations. We ordered the "kid scoops," which turned out to be good portions. Being a supportive dad, I naturally stepped in and finished the rest of his vanilla bean--and I can officially confirm his review was fairly accurate. Overall, The Penny Ice Creamery is a cool little shop with good treats. If you find yourself exploring the shops inside The Picnic Basket, it's absolutely worth a stop to cool down with a scoop. Have you been to The Penny Ice Creamery yet? What's your favorite flavor combo? Let me know in the comments below.

That said, I did purchase a donut from their meager selection in the afternoon. Not sure if that selection was limited by the time of day, or simply reflects all that they have but the donut was decent, I believe it was called a cinnamon crunch, but the remaining selection of donuts were a small collection of cake and old-fashioned. Still not sure why ice cream is listed in the name as the sign outside the business does not reflect that either. I went to purchase my donut only to learn that they only accept credit cards for purchases over three dollars. Good to know my donut was under three dollars, disappointing if you fail to bring cash they have a decent sized sitting area in the back behind the lottery section. Ironically, I feel as though it is more generous than the area used to sell their tickets and donuts, the attendant was neither nor cordial. Experience was less than memorable. The only reason I chose to do a review to help others avoid a similar disappointment. My final advice, walk across the street buy some box donuts from Grocery Outlet and you'll be similarly pleased.

I came out to the car and suggested to my husband we go try the Mochi Dogs and he thought that was a good idea. We came in and David recognized me from the bank. He is a very friendly guy, and very helpful with explaining the drinks menu as there are lots of choices. He also offered choices for the Korean Hot Dogs: All dog, or the dog with cheese and the breading can also include potatoes. We opted for all dog and plain breading. I ordered a drink with Boba, light ice with almond milk and Thai Tea flavoring. I had the option of really sweet or less so and I chose the latter. I think I might order the more sweeter option next time. There was about a 10 minute wait for the dogs to cook so I sipped my drink while we chatted. The hot dogs were hot (very) so you know they were freshly cooked. Nice and crunchy, served on a stick. Ample size and I would imagine with the cheese and potatoes added they would be very filling. The bill came to $29.00 with a tip added. I think the cost was reasonable for a unique type of fare. Two drinks, and two dogs.
