Food is great. The service is good too most of the time. Today not so much, there were 3 ladies on the clock but only 2 were actually helping the customers. The third lady was busy restocking which I get ice cream runs low, but please do it when its not busy. If you are into selfie walls, photo ops, and waiting 30 minutes in line, go for it. Granted we visited when they first opened, but with so few folks and army sized staff, I would assume they would know their menu and how to prepare what was on it. It was painful watching the new girls get "trained" by less than kind supervisory staff... no need. It was good once we got our order, but nothing you can't find from BKM or any swap meat spot in the East Side. Stopped by La Michoacana on my most recent visit to the area. Everyone is really nice n helpful. I tried a mangoneada and an horchata on this visit. Love the mangoneada. I ordered a medium with lime ice cream. It was delicious. The horchata on the other hand was a different story and why i only gave them 4 and not 5 stars. It was too thick... like thicc. Didn't taste like much other than lechera. I could drink it. And it was also kinda overpriced $5 for the large. Also an honorable mention for the eskimales. Called establishment and a lady answered in Spanish. I asked questions regarding allergies, she kept responding "no". I got the idea that she didn't understand me, so I asked a clarifying question, and she just hung up on me! If you don't know how to speak English that's fine, but it's not fine answering the questions with no or yes, and not knowing what the hell you're saying. You must have a very low IQ to not understand the difference. If I didn't question the language barrier, the results could've been life-threatening to my family. Extremely disappointing. Placed an order over the phone drove about 7 minutes to the destination my order was ready when i got there. Visited this place twice. My first visit was the week they opened & I got myself the esquite w/Hot Cheetos; it was too dry, not enough of the condiments it came with. The aguacate ice cream was pretty good though. The second time I got a mangoneada & it was OK nothing out of this world for me personally. I've tasted better. Someone give my girl Sofia a raise. Super polite and patient with us. We came up from Gilroy and decided to eat some tortas from this one place near here. My family wanted ice cream and we came across this one. We said "let's give it a try". Had an awesome first time. So they have a huge selection of ice cream water-based and milk-based that are unique and tasty. I'm giving a two star based on what I'm assuming was either the manager or owner of this store, a young lady with platinum blonde hair (half real/half weave) And showed no hospitality/customer service to the patrons. As it was a full house of customers and had a line of people waiting outside instead of helping out her team decides she's going to make herself a to go order, using bare hands to use a dirty washcloth to wipe down a countertop and using her bare hands to use the products to make her order that were also being used to make our order. Considering the epidemic going around you would think that they would follow better practices especially as an owner/manager, but overall cleanliness and serve safe practices should be a priority to not only the staff but by management as well.
