I ordered a large taro boba blended with lychee jelly, and when I got my drink, there was no boba. I told an employee, and she came back saying I "ordered it wrong" because apparently, 'taro boba' means the drink WITHOUT boba. Excuse me? I've worked at a sister store (Monkey Bowl) where taro boba always comes with boba. If I didn't want boba, I would've said no boba or replace it. Saying taro boba should not magically mean no boba--this isn't rocket science. The whole thing could've been solved with a simple apology and some basic training, but nope. The drinks are good but that's pretty much it, customer service sucks, you greet them and they don't even recognize it, rude and disrespectful. They give you attitude even if you treat them with the most respect, long faces and they forget to five you something, it doesn't matter what it is you will always walk away missing something, its sad to the people including myself whom enjoy having boba. Let me tell you how BAD the owner is with stock on their popular bubble fruit. I work at the mall & every time I go to order "they run out" every week. Owner is soo bad at having the yogurt available to make bubble fruit, honestly they should just take it off the menu since they can't keep up with productivity in a weeks worth. Ask for that bubble fruit and so often more than not you will see for yourself how inconvenient this business is when we have to wait in line for that to always be un-replenished. It's either that or the kids working there don't want to make it and lie to customers. Poor business in my eyes if you can't offer what is on your menu every week. The worst Honey Berry I've been. I gave them 2 stars because the quality of their milk tea has improved. But I still don't get how it's impossible to get a side of boba?????? They clearly has a button for it in their register, but for some unknown reason, it's IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT IT ON A SEPARATE CUP!!! I even asked to pay for the cup. Will the boba explode if it's not mixed with any beverage??? The Honey Berry in Sanborn Salinas and San Jose can do this simple thing. Soooo...... Salinas is too limited in terms of boba and legit tea. I used to go to Tapioca Delight when the first opened (years ago) but the ownership changed and it wasn't as good. My family likes Honey berry. I wanted some boba and was at the mall, so I came here. The employees must think I'm so high maintenance because I ask a million questions about customizing my drink (no you cannot just pour half and half into my cup. I didn't ask for a breve). Horrible location! I've been to other honey berry spots before and never had a problem. My friend and I were at the mall and figured we'd grab some boba drinks. There were two young girls working there that night they must have been tired or something... One was messily making crepes. She messed up some order - she accidentally put whipped cream on an order that didn't want whipped cream. She triiied to scoop it off, but messed it up in the process so she had to make a new one. This is a no-no, you mess up an order like that, you should automatically make a new one for the customer not try to remove the unwanted item (food allergies, come on). The place was not clean - there was a brown, open avocado just sitting in their front line fridge..... gross. Again, with the crepe making area - just messy messy and unprofessional. FINALLY - let's get on to our drinks. Well, not just yet, because they took forever to make two teas, and one accidentally made my tea into a slush st first, which was wrong, so I corrected that. Now our actual tea drinks - WAY TOO SWEET. No, we did not ask for any extra sweetness, just ordered regular teas. I don't know what they do to brew their green/oolong tea but it was wayyy to sweet. I got a passion fruit green tea with boba, not that hard to make. My friend's drink was messed up too - she got a mango green tea with boba, also way too sweet. I overheard the girls whispering about how they were out of something -- maybe it was the ingredient that would have made our teas actually taste decent. We didn't even care to ask for a refund that night or getting new drinks made because they would have messed it up anyway, we just slurped up our cups of diabetes and went on our way. Actually, I took mine home and diluted the tea - which made it less sweet, but the flavoring was still off. BOMB! boba bomb!! went to many places for bobas and this place is great it's a little slow in making them though but worth it i ordered a coconut milktea and was refreshing with the roti bun i do not know why this places has two $$ the teas/bobas are only $3.50 and $3.90 for a large and the roti bums are $1.50 each person who put two $$ must be broke to think this place is expensive.... anyways I really recommend trying a roti bun it's surprising good and i say this because i know it does not look as pleasing to many but hey $1.50 go ahead and try it!! read more

Terrible customer service. Jen made the wrong order and accused my daughter of lying and wasting food. Instead of trying to clarify any misunderstanding, Jen was very rude and also accused me of teaching my daughter to lie and called me a "shameful parent". I was the one who paid for the crepe order and actually heard my daughter place the order myself. After being subjected to Jen's condescending rudeness and spite to correct the order, I asked to speak to the manager. She smirked and said that SHE was the manager. Then I asked for the number to her boss. Another kid that worked there helped, and finally gave me the manager's phone number and Jen's name (after she refused to give me her name). While I was on the phone with her manager, Jose, she continued to berate my daughter and me. Jen was clearly the oldest there with three other teens working with her. It's a pity that she had set such an unprofessional example. MANAGER: RETRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES. Came on a Sunday evening, I was giving my order when the girl helping me ignores me and calls another customer telling them that they don't have coconut or something and just tells me "give me one second" like ok? As if she couldn't wait but the girl who was actually making the drink was just standing there. Where's the team work? I tell her I wanted a tea but that they didn't have anymore. Ok that's fine, so I just ordered a roti bun. I asked if she had Apple Pay and she just stared at me. Are you not going to answer my question? Are you stupid or just pretending? (I know that their register has the sign, but there's multiple times where the symbol is there but doesn't work). All the girls there look confused/lost and I think they were talking smack about a customer before me. Save it for the break room, hunty. This probably used to be my go to boba place but after tonight I am going to be looking for another I used to be a regular however I had moved away and rarely came to salinas so rarely got to enjoy it well let's get to the point tonight I went and there was one male and one female working she was in the back cleaning while he was attending the counter so while he was finishing up the order I started looking at what jellies/popping add ons I wanted being they were no longer listed on the screen and the labels are at the bottom of the tubes I was lifting them up to read them and he had the nerve to turn towards me and say "Can you not!" Like at that point I was tempted to walk away but my friend was wanting one still so I stayed and waited then he came and asked what we wanted I let him know I wasn't sure which add ons I was wanting being I was not allowed to read the labels he then had an annoyed look on his face and told me they were in the little flip book that they have on the counter and being I had already checked there I replied no they are not in there then he decided to point at the screens above and said well they are also up there and i again responded back saying no they are not which I was trying to read the labels but they are all at the bottom of the tubes then he decided to try naming them and was messing up and on some that I was able to read he said they were something else anyways I ended up ordering then I saw him making my drinks and just kept seeing him adding in more hot water while blending my smoothie then hey kept adding more again so by the time I got it it was just watered down and on my friends drink he made it then put the lid and of course it wasn't enough so he then took the cup and went to the back with another cup and I'm assuming he added more water or something to it being the ice machine is up front and he didn't grab any ice . . . It was so disappointing he needs proper training because it is ridiculous that we are receiving watered down drinks oh and he didn't even give me my receipt to top it off read more

Love this boba spot, they also have Roti buns. Never had an issue with ANY menu items, nor have I had any issue with workers here. Pretty fast, but sometimes has a wait since its pretty popular. They recently started crepes so I can't say anything bad/good about them yet. Menu is fairly self explanatory and they have lots of options for tea, smoothies, add ons. read more

A great place to grab a drink with your friends. There bread are soft and tasty it goes well with the drink. It has several flavor of drinks you can choice from the menu. Also you can choose to put many different fruit in your bread. However I had to wait 5 mins to get my drink but that's to be expected when everyone wants a refreshing drink. I'm so glad Honey Berry opened up closer to me! Only pain is having to deal with the mall traffic to get through. I walked all over the mall trying to find this place, and it was literally right where I started, just hidden by the previous carousel removal wall. It's right next to Kay's jewelers. They had some samples out for people to try. The sample of the day was the Taro smoothie. It was so nice and refreshing for a hot summer day. I decided to try the Earl grey tea. It had good tea flavor and the boba was a good consistency. Service was good as usual, like the other location. I only wish they did stamp cards here! read more

I WOULD ZERO STAR IF I COULD. let's make this short and sweet. I went there to grab a quick drink to boost my declining blood sugar. After purchasing my earl grey tea I was excited to enjoy the drink. About four sips in as a boba ball was just entering my mouth i felt an odd stringy texture accompanying it. Immediately I knew it was all down hill from there. As I began to look at what was coming out my straw I saw a foot long hair in my boba mangled between the balls and fluid. Let me repeat. A 12 INCH HAIR WAS IN MY DRINK! (No it was not mine I recently cut my hair to a shoulder length bob) basically I felt sick to my stomach. What's worse is they disperse drinks from these huge multiple gallon carafes so you know all those other earl grey teas got some time to marinade with the hair. I just happened to be the lucky one to get it in my drink. I complained and they gave me my money back but the girl didn't apologize. She just said "that's ok". I don't know about here but it wasn't ok to me. Don't know if I will ever buy a drink here again. Most likely I will be haunted by this hair, traumatized for awhile. read more

I agree with the customer service reviews, the staff is never happy to wait on customers, and you usually have to stand around a while for them to even come out of the back to take your order. The tea wasn't bad, and the crepe was edible. I only went because Creamy was closed for remodel. Once that's back open I'll go there for crepes. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. The staff completely got my order wrong and when I said something about it, all she said was well that's what I charged you for. I'd have shoved the receipt in her face but she didn't give me one. One was the wrong size, one was the wrong drink! Staff needs to be re-trained. read more
