I really enjoyed my experience here. There was 6 people ahead of me but the line moved quickly and that staff was really friendly and helpful. Come here for the croquettes, the coffee, and the sandwiches and you won't be disappointed. The service is great too. They're on a mission to get your served and put a smile on your face, at least that's how I've felt the last 3 times I've been here. It's a little out of the way, and I was disappointed that they didn't have bacalao (salt cod) croquettes. Other than that, they've got a return customer in me. By far, the standout croquette for me was the ham. They also have chorizo and cheese croquettes, and all have a tangy taste in them that I'm guessing comes from the addition of vinegar in the recipe. It really works. Also worth mentioning is their "Pasta de Bocadito," which is a delicious ham paste that makes an incredible sandwich. They also sell the sandwiches with the spread in them, but I recommend that you take home some of the paste or you'll regret not having done that. The last time I was here I had a torreja--it's essentially a French toast like bread drenched in a delicious syrup. Don't have more than one or you'll accidentally slip into a coma. read more

I had seen a reel from a food blogger on Instagram regarding the BEST croquetas in South Florida and the person claimed that the croquetas de la casa from this bakery were better than Islas Canarias. I knew I had to go give them a try. So we had the perfect opportunity a few days ago. We were running errands and were starving so my daughter remembered that we wanted to try this place. I ordered a desayuno that consisted of scrambled eggs, ham and cheese plus a Cuban tostada con mantequilla y café con leche. Let me tell you, those eggs were one of the most delicious fluffy, most flavorful eggs I have had from any other bakery. My daughter ordered a croqueta preparada (of course) and it was done with a lot of love. You could tell. It was big and the bread was toasted to perfection. The croquetas....WOW! They are on a category of their own. The taste is unique. I still love Islas Canarias because it's just a different taste pero Cakeland's recipe is up there too! Que delicia!!! DELICIOUS. It was so good that I knew I had to take come home for my husband to try. I also couldn't leave without trying a pastelito de guayaba (my favorite). I was blown away. The guayaba actually tasted like pure guava like mermelada. It was one of the best pastelitos I've ever tasted and believe me, I have tasted A LOT! I will most definitely be back very soon. Maybe order a Cuban cake next time. I bet they are too die for!!!! Oh forgot to mention the wonderful employee who made my breakfast and helped me with my order. Today I bought 4 Cuban sandwiches, a box of croquetas, a box of assorted pastelitos, and a Cuban bread. I invited American friends for a Cuban brunch. They were looking forward to having an authentic Cuban sandwich. I was totally embarrassed!! The Cuban sandwich was more like a mushy ham and cheese. The pork was a mission to find. I've been going here almost every weekend for coffee and the pizza pastries. But today service and the person who helped me was everywhere but where they needed to be. This is the food I waited for 20 mins. Not only was it not hot, the cheese wasn't melted and it was messy and not done correctly. I asked for someone who had been there longer but no one would and they gave me the new lady who didn't know much. This is not worth it at all. I'd recommend anywhere but here. The manager was nice but condescending in tone and honestly I never write reviews. But I just felt so pushed around. I don't even wanna eat the food I pay for. read more

This is my favorite bakery in West Kendall, everything I have tried is delish. The meat, guava, cheese pastries are the best. The Cuban bread and pan polaco is nice and soft. Came in this afternoon for a little treat before my son's class. After seeing all the other reviews I feel totally bad for my 3 stars but I'm sorry, I've seen nicer bakeries and I've had better service and food. Perhaps I have to come again and next time do it earlier in the day? Place wasn't the cleanest and people weren't the nicest. Again, maybe it was the time of day I came (late afternoon, 6 pm) that's differentiating my experience from everybody else who's reviewed this bakery. Ordered some pastelitos, cafe con leche, piece of cake and a toast. The cheese pastelito was indeed delicious and I'd definitely have those again when I'm back. The cafe con leche was good but I wanted it a bit darker. What disappointed me most was the toast...bread felt dry, barely had any butter and wasn't toasty enough. Total meh for me, especially because I'm a bread fanatic and love a good cuban toast. I'll give them another try since I'll be more in this area some afternoons. read more

This place never disappoints. The pastelitos are sweet with crusts that do not flake off in an impossibly messy manner. I really like the pastelitos de queso here better than anywhere else in the city as they aren't coated with sugar on top and don't just crumble on you. I'd suggest hitting this place earlier in the day although they do bake throughout the day. If you're going to a party on Miami's West end I suggest you stop by here for a platter or two of their finger foods. read more

Saying that everything I got so far has been fantastic will be an understatement, the pastelitos, bocaditos, sándwiches, papas rellenas, pan cubano, croquetas, café con leche, all the deserts are always fresh and are delicious. Were have all the GOOD BAKERIES GONE! They are here in West Kendall. I come in here after I eat at Steves Pizza all the time for coffee and some desert to take home. Service is always good and they are always attentive to me. From Flan Cheese cake to the big pre bagged Lady Fingers, I have tried them all. Worst Bakery in Miami so far. This place was extremely dirty, food was cold and under cooked. Also, they just kicked people out at 2:55PM on a Sunday and started to clean when supposedly they work until 3:00PM. They used a cart from Sedano's (next door store) to hold the doors, extremely unrespectful people. If you are in town, I would recommend other chains as Pinecrest Bakery or Party Cake which are all over the city and the food/service is excellent. read more
