I love when Colorado gets a new Asian business with a different Asian delight. Thanks Tropitai for introducing Colorado to Taiwanese shaved ice. I've had Japanese and Korean shaved ice before and the Taiwanese version is very different from the others. It's a little thicker and fuller so it feels more than water. But still very delicious. I have had Tropitai in person and takeout. I live roughly 30 minutes away and the way they packed the shaved ice, it was still pretty solid by the time I was home. Everything I have had from here has been delicious. My favorites are the wintermelon shaved ice and the wintermelon tea. I can't remember what fresh milk was but it was delicious. Both are very cooling and perfect after an exhausting stressful day. They're not overly sweet even with the condensed milk. Just right. I finally came in person and it's very homey and reminds me of the warmth at my grandparents with all the figurines. Service is super friendly. I found that the owner Trajan, a young entrepreneur is originally from Colorado, with parents from around the world; wonderful history regarding his family, do ask! Everything item on the menu and historical information was absolutely "Surprising and innovative" I forgot to take notes being enthralled with my drink, a delicious Mango Green Tea!! As my Aspen sat quietly with beckoning glances - SHARING??? What they offer: is a simple, easy to park area, Signage very visible; front door and entrance are all glass which lending to a Sunny "Welcome!" Then the multitude of choices via huge menus!: maybe one of each!!!??? They have many tables (some no time to clean off due to BUSY attending to customers coming and going), nonetheless, there is Free WIFi is one wishes to work. Our first visit, since we live so far from here now. Guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful (sorry, I didn't catch his name!) -- recommended the Shaved Ice then walked us through all the options. We chose a Passion Fruit Guava shaved ice with condensed milk, strawberry pocky, mocha and fresh strawberries. Made fresh to order, came out fast and looked picture perfect. Tasted even better! Large size was awesome for sharing between my family of four without having to fight over who gets to finish it. Decently clean inside, bathrooms included. Handful of tables for groups big and small, as well as a couch area where it appears they maybe used to have more games? Or planned for it to have more games? When we came it was only Jenga. So, could use more games! Also could use the carpet in this couch area being replaced. It's very worn down and literally the only thing that looks bad. I wish this place were closer! After coming here ... probably 5+ times now - we've almost tried all the flavors. And to be honest - there isn't one that misses. The portions are huge - 1 would probably be enough for 4 people to have a decent amount - but of course its delicious so you really can't go wrong with ordering more. It's nothing like the crunchy, gritty American snow cones - the super fine threads of ice are completely evenly mixed with whatever flavor you choose. The staff are sweet though, answering all questions and providing recommendations if you feel stuck. They'll bring your order to you as long as it's not too busy, and take care to wipe everything down when customers leave. The Mango Guava flavor was perfectly refreshing with Mochi and Lychee Jelly. Sizes are also quite generous, even though it seemed like our treat was gone in no time. The milktea itself was just okay. I miss authentic shave ice and this is the perfect place for the real deal. The staff is super friendly and the service is always great. I could not recommend this place enough! Come for the amazing treats but stay for the cozy atmosphere and friendly service. I don't think I've ever been to a dessert shop that greeted us with such genuine smiles and they even brought our order to us! I believe it was made with a cream or milk based? Or non dairy creamer but with the flavor and then shaved down to ice. Which was different than your typical ice with syrup on top. Medium was big enough to share between 2-3 people for sure. I think if I went alone I would prefer a small portion option for $6 or $7 (currently doesn't exist ) so I don't have to share since I can see that being a problem even amongst friends hah. And medium was too big for myself to finish. Not a thing to be able to take home since it'll melt and the texture will be gone and all you get left is melted slush. Came here for MHAFW twice and it was a good time! I've only ever had the boba here, but I definitely want to try their shaved ice desserts, which I've heard good things about.
