Driven by this spot so many times and every time it's super busy so obviously I wanted to see if it was worth the visit. One thing I already loved off the gate was how late this place closes(1am)! Cause yes I do want ice cream very late at night sometimes. Upon arriving I realized the ice cream is actually sold out of the airstream and the actual brick n mortar is mainly just used as an indoor space and offers free water. We tried a couple of flavors but landed on the lemon pie in my eye and pistachio crunch. Both were rich, creamy and I loved the brightness the lemon had and the little bits of pie crust throughout! I can't wait to come back and try more! I also love the city neighborhood vibe there's tables and benches for people to linger and people/strangers were interacting with each other and we're just enjoying another beautiful night in Denver. In an unassuming little airstream trailer, on South Broadway, lies Fat Batter. We stopped by around 1030pm after the firework game at Coors Field on the 4th of July! Despite the small line and single person working the trailer, the line moved quick and before we knew it, we were getting our cones! I'll admit the flavors range from signature to creative and fancy, all of which are delicious! We each opted to try something different. Our friend got traditional chocolate, while Ben got Strawberry cheesecake and I got a honey pistachio creation that totally hit the spot. YUM! Seating is limited in the form a few chairs in the yard, or the stoop of the owner's home! It's quaint and definitely feels like a hidden gem! Pricing a little steep, but for the unique flavors, quality of ingredients and portion, it's totally understandable! YUMMMM! read more

This place is a few blocks away from us, and I'm always on the look out for some late night desserts! This hit the spot! I tried the dough rei miso and it was sweet and umami at the same time! I love it when ice cream spots get creative. I definitely want to come back and try some of their other flavors. We did a family outing to Fat Batter on a Sunday night. There was no wait when we arrived but as we were finishing up three people came up. I am diary free so I settled for the only option they had which was Agua Fresca which was essential a berry sorbet. I would love if they had a dairy free ice cream option like other scoop places do. Everyone else got strawberry fields, pistoffee, and Lavendar haze. My husband ordered two scoop - one of pistoffee and one of that's amore but they accidentally gave him Sebastian Joe. My husband didn't say anything, he loves all ice cream so he just ate it. When the scooper realized he messed up on my husband's order he brought him a scoop of the That's Amore which we all agreed was by far the best flavor on the menu right now! It was very nice and we appreciated if but was not necessary. If we are in the area again, we may stop to check out new flavors. read more

Delicious ice cream with cool flavors! The ice cream is dense, rich, and creamy. They let you sample their flavors and they're super friendly. Loved the Gooey James Brownie and bought a pint of it. They sell scoops out of the trailer and pints out of the house. There is very limited seating on the porch and outside the house. Street parking only so hopefully you get lucky but it's not impossible to find a spot. read more

We got lucky and stumbled on the creamiest ice cream. The woman who helped us was very patient and nice and let us sample all the flavors. The flavors were original and fresh, you could taste the homemade ingredients. After we got our ice cream we sat inside the porch and met the owners beautiful doggies, and the owner herself was so kind and welcoming. Truly one of the best ice creams I've ever tasted. 3/4 of our party opted for the pistachio and it was truly incredible - very pistachio forward, creamy and not overly rich or sweet. Only to be warmly greeted by Theodora. That dog LOVES her job. Deana & Dustin the proprietors were buzzing around, and provided me with samples. They are sooooo into the art and method-madness of their blends. And.....ahem....cough...my standards were pre-set to HIGH, as we spent a week in Italy last October. Yes....the gelato over there was amazing. So......there simply ARE NO WRONG flavors to choose from. They have their recipe blends and balanced flavor mixes down pat. I thought I would love the Lavender Haze and Lemony Sniketts the most - however, the Aqua Fresca Jamaica stole my palette, my heart, my soul and my libido. I guaran-damn-tee you have NEVER tasted anything like this hibiscus & mandalorian orange sorbet EVER in your life. Post back here if a "nay"....only if thou dare! Friday is rapidly approaching. My husband and I randomly stumbled on Fat Batter after dinner at Post Chicken & Beer. We were already full, but it was date night, the shop was less than a mile away, and we figured... why not? Best impulsive decision ever. It was a slower time of night so we got to try several flavors and chat with the owners. They were super knowledgeable about which flavors were gluten-free, which I really appreciated. But honestly, I'm still lamenting at how creamy and authentic the flavors were (I'm writing this review about a week after visiting them). For context: I love strawberries but hate strawberry-flavored anything. When they offered me a sample of their strawberry, I almost passed. I'm so glad I didn't. I cannot stop thinking about it. It's hands-down the best ice cream I've ever had in my life. Not exaggerating. It tastes like actual fresh strawberries and cream with crunchy flavor bursts. Sooooo good. We went back again with my teenage daughter and after trying the usual "kid" flavors (anything with cookies and marshmallows) she fell in love with the lavender. They explained they actually steep real lavender leaves on prem!! You can taste the difference. It's subtle, floral, and not perfumey at all. She also brought home the pistachio. It tastes as if they were just roasted - such a rich and amazing flavor. Everything we tried was unbelievably creamy and rich without being heavy. Even though we live about 30 minutes away, it's 100% worth the drive. We'll absolutely be back. read more

We ate our ice cream on their cozy couch and pet their sweet pups, Theodora and Thor. The ice cream was delicious. OMG!! This is my first time trying this place and the lady working was incredibly friendly. Her two sweet pups came out to greet me while she gave me samples. They're undergoing renovations but will be back up as normal in a few months. You can still order take out. I will absolutely be back. Delicious ice cream, and very unique flavors. However, $12 for two tiny scoops in a tiny cup is way too expensive. I understand that it's small batch craft, and I love supporting small businesses, but that's just not affordable in this economy. We stumbled upon the Fat Batter truck yesterday while on a walk and tried the James Brownie ice cream. It was decadent! My boyfriend and I shared a scoop, and it was enough because it was soooo creamy and rich (though I still wanted more after it was finished). Also, the owners were super nice and even gave our dog a little scoop of vanilla - I tried a bite of that too, and it was equally as good as the James Brownie. We live in the neighborhood and usually go to Sweet Cow, but this place is better!!!!!!!!! We'll be coming back! read more
