They charged me $850 in labor for a job that took less than an hour. Fireplace parts are not that expensive or hard to replace. So when you get a quote close to a $1k like I received it should raise a flag. I called other places just to find out what they charge for this type of job and they were all at least half this price or less. I will say that the technician was very profession polite and knowledgeable but they are very very expensive.

He came back and did the work. three years later, the furnace died, (not Falcon's fault), and an electrician came out to check the work of the company replacing it. He told me the outlet was the wrong kind and would not pass an inspection. They had to fix it so it would pass when the furnace was inspected. Not so cool.

They offered to replace + install it for basically an additional $289. That's ridiculously expensive. Mr Electric quoted me $80/hr (+ offered that info to me without me asking). Falcon Electric did not offer me a quote but they did fit me in same day. Lesson learned.

The previous design caused the balcony railing to dry rot the underlying structure. They designed an entirely new method of attaching the railing that would withstand weight and would not deteriorate under the rainy conditions of Oregon. Alan Pierce thought through his bid carefully, and gave me clear advice, telling me what could and could not--realistically--be accomplished. This was accompanied by a fixed bid in writing. Payment was made in three parts, the final payment being made only when all work had been fully completed to my satisfaction. We went over the bid by just $400, a choice I made to do some additional strengthening work in one area. Alan and his team always arrived promptly, usually at 9am, and worked until 5pm, Monday - Friday. They worked to keep the property as clean as possible, and I was impressed that they followed proper Oregon DEQ safety practices. The project took about three weeks to complete. I was able to see first-hand the work Alan's crew performed, and felt that without exception they were excellent craftsmen who did careful and precise work. Alan also took before and after photos of all the work completed. Overall, I would unhesitatingly recommend Alan and his company Revive Works for residential remodeling. I was pleased to discover Green Energy Solutions through the Energy Trust of Oregon's Clean Energy Works program in Portland, Oregon. My house is 2000sf and previously had no insulation. This lead to lots of temperature differential throughout the levels and rooms as well as drafts and extremely high heating and cooling costs. In the coldest months our heating electric bills would peak at around $400 a month! The house had no central cooling and the upper floor would at times be as warm as 90 degrees! NOT acceptable!! My project manager from Green Energy Solutions was Ernesto Melo. I appreciate how he listened and worked through some of the trickier insulation areas. Now that the install is complete, I am delighted with the consistent temperatures throughout the house. The monthly electric heating bill is now about 25% the previous amount.
