Portland had a bad ice storm and we lost power; I froze. So I wanted to figure out a way to get heat during power outages for the future. Falcon was working on something else at my house, later on. The electrician said he could put an outlet into the furnace so I could plug in a generator. He came back and did the work. three years later, the furnace died, (not Falcon's fault), and an electrician came out to check the work of the company replacing it. He told me the outlet was the wrong kind and would not pass an inspection. They had to fix it so it would pass when the furnace was inspected. Not so cool. read more

The technicians who came out were kind and informative. I had a faulty smoke detector and needed help installing my new detector because it required cutting + attaching wires + I didn't know how risky it would be to do it on my own. That alone cost $289 (didn't even include the smoke detector as I received a replacement from Kidde). Took 15-20 min. Turned out I had another faulty smoke detector. They offered to replace + install it for basically an additional $289. That's ridiculously expensive. Mr Electric quoted me $80/hr (+ offered that info to me without me asking). Falcon Electric did not offer me a quote but they did fit me in same day. Lesson learned. read more

My wife & I recently purchased a 1955 house in Beaverton that came major issues with the electrical system starting with the fact the house wasn't equipped with grounding which was a huge concern. We originally called them out to add the ground rods and they educated me on my entire system and I learned that the 100 a Edison fuse box wasn't sufficient enough to power my house after we removed the gas meter. Long story short we decided to have Falcon upgrade my 100 amp Edison fuse box to a 200 amp panel with with updated grounding system. Love the up front pricing, expertise & quality of work. First off: THESE JOKERS DELETE BAD REVIEWS. Do not believe their online ratings; they're hacks. My roommate left a 1-star for the same reasons I'll describe, but we no longer see it. So now I'll be leaving a longer, more detailed review with pictures, and be checking on it to make sure it sticks over the coming weeks. Also, I'm an electrical engineer, so I have a general idea for how this stuff works, and how pathetic Falcon Service's quality of "service" really is. Our landlord hired them to replace a panel in our apartment. The panel pictured is the new panel. Yes, that's the new one, with gaps between it and the wall, dry wall chips all around it, and extra length cuts where I guess the electricians were a bit too tipsy to stop the saws-all in time. That's what "done" looks like to these 2-bit contractors. So be prepared to have your house look just like that. Further, most the work was outside, so they raked all the leaves on our patio into a pile conveniently located right in front of our backdoor, we had to push a path clear before opening the door. Worse than the pile itself, they used it to conceal all the scraps they were too lazy to clean up. I found this out by stepping on a piece of scrap wire. The picture is just the garbage I stepped in, who knows how much was left in that pile. Also, THEY DIDN'T WEAR MASKS, so I hope you trust your contractors are covid-free. I mean, I'm not saying they're Trump supporters, but probably. They were also routinely 30minutes later than they said they would be. It's not huge, but when you give someone your home from 8AM-5PM for four days straight, it sucks when you come home at 5:15, and you still can't cook dinner. Finally, they left sawdust all over our counters, produce, and appliances. 0 effort to clean up after themselves. Overall, I get the feeling Falcon Services gets high reviews from landlords, people who never have to live at the job site. I would never let these clowns onto my property. read more

I needed a bathroom fan replaced and thought it would be a good idea to get the second bath fan replaced as well just to update it. I was provided what I thought was a high quote by Falcon so elected to only have the one fan replaced. Falcon immediately came down $200. Doesn't seem like they use standard rates when it fluctuates so dramatically. I was looking for a more forthright company that would give me a fair price upfront. They also don't provide an itemized receipt like they are trying not to disclose the markup on the fan or the hourly rate. We had a highly respected electrician replace the second fan for significantly less than Falcon's second reduced quote. I will not use Falcon again. read more

These guys are great. They're prompt and affordable. During one of the summer's heat waves, our attic exhaust fan went up. Within 48 hrs of contact, they were here to replace the fan and install an additional chandelier in our 2 story entry way. They were quick, respectful, and efficient. To quote Falcon Electric's response to my request for pricing, "If you are not specifically in the Portland area and payment is coming from out of state, then we do not accept out of state work." (The jobsite location was in the Portland area, which means it was not out-of-state work. However, like many retail businesses, we have a multi-state presence and an HQ that is out-of-state. This is the 3rd time I've used Falcon and each time they are as timely, proficient and friendly as the last. I purchased a 90's house with old outlets & switches. This week they replaced and added GFI outlets including the bathrooms where there were none, time switches for my bathroom fans and all of the outlets & switches in the bathrooms and kitchen. I am having backsplash installed in my kitchen so they left me box extenders. 2 1/2 hours and 1 guy working the entire time. $535. In the past they have installed a ceiling fan where new wiring had to be run and did some serious troubleshooting on wiring that for some reason connected both my outside lights and 1/2 of my house. Anyway, I had the most extraordinary service the night before Thanksgiving (at 4:30 pm) Falcon was able to squeeze me in for an emergency, so I wanted to make sure and send a complimentary 5-star review, just because of them going above and beyond and also Brian Fierro who did the work. Brian was super smart, intuitive, nice and generous with his time and expertise. He fixed the problem expertly, in the dark (exterior electric panel) where I think most people would have said it was too dark and too cold. HORRIBLE! My normal local electrical company was booked too far out. They recommended Falcon (huge mistake). Took the day off work for an appointment window of between 2-4. By 4:30 no call, no show, so I called. Now time is no later than 5:30. It's now 7:00, no call, no show at all. HORRIBLE!!! Update...electrician calls at 7:10 PM, asked if he could come out now...it's pitch dark. I said its after 7:00 and why did he not call to give an update. He then hung up on me. Summary: 2 hours late to first scheduled appointment. 3 hours late to second scheduled appointment. Estimates seem to increase based on the amount of money they see available. You will pay. They had a receptionist for calls which is nice, however, electrician must have been on his own schedule. I set an appointment at 2:30 pm. At 4:30pm I called in and reset the appointment at 5:30pm. I pretty much gave up hope they would show, and as I was leaving at 8:30pm, the electrician arrived. During the estimate, the electrician had good input, but didn't really want to follow my requests for equipment/wiring. On top of this, the quote started at $3,500 (not bad). After walking outside and scanning my house, ball-park quote for $4,500 to $5k. (really?, okay - this project might have to wait). Walking to the end of the house and going through things in his head and explaining (and what to seem like looking around my house to see how much money I might fork out) the final quote was $6,000 (wow - definitely not). After waiting a total of 6 hours for Falcon Electric to show up, I figured he could give me a quote and forgo the $50 estimate fee (nope). After talking with the receptionist about the unacceptable tardiness, I was told I still have to pay. I paid the estimate fee and decided to leave my experience on here. 1 star - got an estimate, but everything else was not customer service oriented. 3% credit card fee. Out of the three electricians i called, falcon electric was the only one that picked up the phone and seemed eager to help. Scheduling was quick and easy. The electrician arrived on time and fixed the problem quickly. I didn't find out the price of the job until after it was done. I think the price was too high for the simple job i had them do, but i haven't had to call an electrician before this issue, so i don't really have anybody to compare to. Update: I didn't receive the bill in the mail until months later, and the bill was charging me a late fee even though this was the first time I got the bill. Then I checked my spam folder in my e-mail, and saw that the bill had been sent to me earlier through e-mail. So if you use this company, be sure to check your e-mail's spam folder for your bill so you don't get charged a late fee. Luckily I was able to get the late fee removed after calling the company. It would be nice if the company allowed for paying for the job the day it's done; then this wouldn't have been an issue. read more

My father is downsizing and we need to get the house ready to sell. It is amazing all the weird little things you notice when you clear out the furniture and look at the house you grew up in through a new lens. Anyway, we needed a bunch of lights installed in the ceiling, including some in a downstairs hallway between joists and HVAC ducting and a main support beam - a pretty complicated job. There was also some not-up-to-code wiring loose in the attic which needed to be addressed. The bid process was smooth, they were very competitive pricewise, easy to schedule, and the work itself was on time and on budget and met all of our expectations. We have used Scott and his team before and we will absolutely use them again. read more

We have had very good service from Falcon. They have done repairs on household lights, outlets and the electrical panel very reliably. Unfortunatelly after a recent repair we have been harassed with repeated demands for payment, although they were paid in full 2 days following service. And they have refused to answer all emails, SMS messages and do not even answer their phone. The lack of communication makes it very difficult and time consuming to work with them. This in addition to the fact that it takes over a month to get an appointment means we will be using a different provider in the future. read more

We have dimmers and track lighting that frequently have some recurring issues. The electricians we had used in the past weren't available so we found Falcon. They fixed our lighting in less than an hour, but a week later it went out again and they had to come back to fix it. All in all, the lighting ended up getting fixed so no big harm besides a minor inconvenience of having to have them come back. Fast forward to receiving the invoice (three months later for some reason?) and the total was SUBSTANTIALLY higher than the other two electrician companies we had used. The cost was $150 more than what another company had charged for diagnosing and replacing an entire transformer for multiple hours, including parts. The biggest chunk of the charge was a $515 "level 3 diagnostic fee". They spent only 50 minutes making the minor necessary fixes, after I told them what the issues in the past had been. Plus another 20 minutes when they came back to fix their own error. The "level" is independent of the time spent for whatever reason and could end up racking up to a big chunk of money even if they're in and out in less than an hour. Such a bummer to have to leave a negative review but I would look elsewhere for electrical services. read more

Terrible service - Buyer Beware. We gave Falcon a shot during a basement remodel and they did not complete the job. 2 light switches were not connected at all and they put all the wiring on one circuit, which causes the breaker to go out anytime you have both the TV on and try to run an appliance in the kitchenette. Shame on us for giving them a second chance to come fix it and install a bathroom exhaust fan. They charged over $600 to install a bathroom exhaust fan and left it messy and again not completed. The Fan we supplied ended up being too small for the space and instead of calling us to let us know it wasn't the appropriate size Falcon went ahead and installed it anyway. Now there is a gaping hole on the ceiling. Not to mention they again didn't finish the switch job in the basement and left both the bathroom and access to the attic which happens to be in my infants room filthy. Covered in insulation and dirty finger prints. After all that, they only credited us $100 and said they would fix the fan for another $500, uh...no thank-you.. Save yourself the trouble. Keep looking. read more

The work and pricing were fine. What was concerning was the way the electrician treated his apprentice. If you are going to have apprentices in your organization, they shouldn't be repeatedly told they are "stupid" and otherwise verbally beaten up. Apprentices are there to learn. If one is struggling, there are other ways to deal with it. It was unpleasant enough that we may seek another firm for our next job. read more

I notice most of these reviews are from landlords and homeowners but from a tenants perspective these guys are so disrespectful. They stayed past the time our landlord told us they would be there and when we asked when they were leaving (after they completely ignored us walking in to our own home and keep loudly talking to each other) the guy just started to mansplain the work he was doing. They then left the apartment but hung around right outside our window talking and laughing for another 20 minutes. Oh and not one of them was wearing a mask. They left dust all over our counters which had food on them, got dust on our books, shoved our bookcase into the recycling bin which cracked the bin and knocked a bunch of things off the top of the bookcase.If you have any respect for your tenants do not hire these guys!!! Also don't hire if you don't want to get COVID because they don't wear mask or seem to distance themselves at all. read more

I was having a hard time getting anyone to come out for some work I needed done in my basement. I understand business is probably booming for electricians in Portland right now with the housing market the way it is and nobody really wants to take a smaller job. I emailed Scott at Falcon Electric and heard back from him the next day. I think we had it scheduled and the work finished within maybe 3-4 days after first contact. Richard, the electrician who came to do the job called to see if he could come early, got in and got it done with no hassle. He had some good tips about layout and how to keep things running a little more smoothly with our hodge podge layout of appliances in the basement. I managed to get two other estimates for the work before I contacted Scott and his bid was just about the same as the other two so I assume the industry has a fairly standard price set. I settled on Falcon Electric because A: he answered my email next day. B: he stayed in contact and answered all of my questions in a timely manor until the job was scheduled. 3: the electrician showed up early, got to work, and finished in good time. D: everyone exceeded my expectations because of my experience with at least 4 other electricians while trying to get this job done. I have future projects planned for an electrician as I updated this old house. I will contact Scott and Falcon Electric first every time now. I really appreciate the good, quick work. read more

I had them come to my mid80s duplex to update the outlets, switches and to figure out once and for all why a couple outlets didn't work without the bathroom light on. Caleb arrived right on schedule and went right to work. He diagnosed the problem and explained what had happened to cause it. He fixed it right away and we were all set. He did a little general maintenance like tightening some connections. He was professional, knowledgeable and very pleasant. Pros--they were available quicker than other electricians we contacted, their phones are answered by humans, and as far as I can tell at least they did a fine job. Cons--they were late for every planned visit. They sent an invoice for more than twice the original estimate--without discussing the rising charges with us at any point during the job. Then they contacted us to say we should disregard this invoice because they were sending a revised invoice with even higher charges. I told them I was surprised because the estimate had been so much lower. The person said she would talk with the person who gave the estimate and get back to me. I never heard back, except to receive a final invoice almost 3 times the amount of the estimate. read more

Falcon did some work on our kitchen lights a couple of years ago, and we were very pleased with their price and service. More recently, we called to have them take a look at a faulty outlet. The electrician came out and tightened up some loose wiring, checked/tightened the electrical panel, and tested other nearby outlets - all appeared to be working fine. But, a few days later, the faulty outlet started acting up again. We called Falcon back, and they promptly sent someone out to take another look - this time the electrician was able to discover another loose/burned out wire in a different outlet, which was impacting the faulty outlet, and he was able to fix the problem. Falcon did not charge us for the second visit, which we were very pleased with. Falcon's office manager/scheduler, Monica, was absolutely wonderful and very helpful! I would highly recommend Falcon to anyone who is looking for a fair price, thorough and professional services, and a dedication to getting the job done. read more
