The clothes are $$$, however, a lot of the clothes for the genre are well stitched and put together by some notable names in the fashion genre. I've had a pair of Trip NYC pants for 5 years with good wear. When you think about it it's better to spend a lot on something that will last rather than buying a few pairs of cheap pants. You end up really spending more for the cheap stuff in the long run than just investing in a piece right from the gate. If this is your primary style than I can see why this place would be expensive. I'm a working admin/book keeper, therefore, I only need a few pieces in this fashion line, therefore, investment is minimal. It does annoy me that some things are not tagged for pricing which is an indication that I will need to bring out the credit card. I find the staff very helpful.

I went in with my boyfriend last Wednesday as he was looking for some help buying a new suit for a special event. When we first walked in we were greeted by an older, shorter guy (I think his name was Craig or Greg or something... I heard someone call him that). He came over to my boyfriend and started chatting with him, but quickly we both realized he was being very condescending, probably because we are both younger. He picked a couple of suits off the rack that were completely the opposite style of what my boyfriend wanted. When he told him this, he got really gruff and walked off, like he had offended him or something because he didn't like the style of suits he had picked out. After about another 10 mins of wandering around the store, this other younger guy came up to us. His name was Chris (I made sure to get it because he was awesome!). He actually listened to my boyfriend, helped him try on a bunch of styles, and was really funny and friendly. In the end he ended up selling us one of the most expensive suits in the store, but it looked great and my boyfriend didn't mind paying for quality. Back to the older guy for a second though, as when we went to pay, I heard him say to Chris that we must be drug dealers because my boyfriend was paying in cash! He even told him to "check the bills, make sure they are legit"!!! Like seriously? I think he was mad because Chris had scooped the sale, but honestly, he was so rude in the first place that we never would have bought anything from him anyway. I also heard him being rude to the other salesmen on the floor too, acting as though he was entitled to every sale walking in the door though he did nothing to deserve it. So hopefully someone reads this! Kudos for Chris for treating us great and making my boyfriend look like a million bucks, and Boos to Craig/Greg for being rude and patronizing. Upon arriving this morning, there were two young female employees working there, I didn't get their names. One was professional, bubbly and friendly. The other came off cold, stern and aggressive in her approach in assisting myself with my fitting for my tuxedo rental. I'm doing measurements, she came off aggressive in her instructions. Upon paying for certain fees before departing from the Moore's in Nanaimo, I had specific but yet general questions regarding timelines and rough time frames on when our rentals would arrive. Her approach in answering was to talk over me, sternly and said "you can lose the attitude!". It was very specific too, "you can lose the attitude". I understand retail work has its challenges but being in a position that is typically required to have some form of cordial behaviour, professional courtesy and polite manners. When none of these basic skills aren't present in assisting customers, it's very discouraging to customers like myself who came in to get fitted and spend $ on these services. In addition to this, because of her attitude towards me, she costed the business the opportunity of making a purchase as I had full intentions in purchasing this dress jacket, but thanks to how she engaged me in her customer service, I declined the idea of purchasing this dress jacket. Since I don't know her name, she was the employee who had purple highlights in her hair, average/ short in height and on the petite side with prescription glasses.

But it's a great little store with an incredible variety of fashion. They carry Fluevog shoes, semi casual dresses, feminine night wear, pretty affordable silver jewelry. What really stands out though is their service. Even when the store is busy & there's only one person working, you will be acknowledged and looked after. They have an amazing policy for holding items. They impressed me anyways because I asked them to hold shoes that were on sale. Normally, stores will give you grief about such a request. But they held the item for a few days for me. I gave 4 stars rather than 5 only because the store is small so limited in stock. They actually deserve a 4 1/5
