Care received was up to par, however care does not end with the provider. Dr. Lee did his part, his office manager and billing are simply lazy. They lied on their dental bill to me. A simple phone call to the insurance office what was needed could have avoided any delay in payment from insurance. I attempted to three way the insurance and the office people fire this provider and Troy Dental stated they can't help us since the Orthodontist and their office manager isn't here until Thursdays. The bill is from Troy Dental, therefore Troy dental should be able to fix it. Notice in the pick I provided, it states that they haven't received info from me. What info do they need from me? Went to get a new denture. Emailed X-rays prior to visit and confirmed staff received them. Apparently, the morning of my visit, the dentist noticed the X-ray wasn't clear. Instead of staff notifying me immediately, they waited until an hour after I showed up for my appointment and expected $75 for new X-rays when the other office could have resent them anytime throughout the day. Then, even after the additional X-rays, the dentist said the office staff promised more than they should have. Dentist refused to treat me and referred me to another dentist who doesn't accept my insurance. I needed a new denture. Receptionist said there office did that. I don't realize how they can not know what services they offer. read more

I just got my braces 3 days ago, I had told the lady before I left that the wire was stabbing my gum. Now three days later the wire is now stuck IN my gum! On the top the wire is stabbing me in my gum as well. I told and told and told them "it's stabbing me please make it stop it hurts" they didn't do squat.I'm in so much pain I hate it. Yes it's going to hurt a bit but not like it is! They made us pay over $600 just for braces. They also left me sitting in the room for 30+ minutes just so they could talk. I even called in to make an appointment to get these wires cut today about two hours after opening and they answered and hung up as soon as I said "my wire is stuck in my gum.I hate this dentist so much! I'm about ready to go to a different one. They can't even say my name right after all these years. And they say it wrong on purpose! read more

I went in to get an implant and when they did the impression on my mouth they broke my permanent retainer and then the dentist said he didn't feel comfortable doing anything to it so it happened to be on a Thursday the only day the orthodontist is there and he said that it was broken already and said he will put in a new one and wanted me to pay 350 bucks so I don't recommend this place at all they want is money they have no compassion or empathy for the patients all I wanted was to get this implant and I walk out with a broken retainer and they won't do anything to it unless I pay horrible please don't recommend this place at all read more

I moved to Joliet and my husband and I have been loyal patients. Yesterday I found out that I have $700.00 in my FSA savings account and asked them to help me. Well NOPE. This cycle of wrongful billing began as a result of bad record keeping on the part of Troy Dental. My son's dental records were intertwined with another patient with the same first name. Once it was realized the problems were already in motion. This confusion caused my son to be given services he wasn't yet to receive as he had been mistaken as the other patient who had not received services in awhile (at an appointment the dentist mentioned that he had not seen my son in awhile and we thought he meant he had personally not seen him as we had appointments with at least one other dentist throughout our routine cleanings). Also, the bad record keeping and confusion fully came to light when upon confirming my son's personal information, I learned that they had the wrong information under his name. We were billed for Troy Dental's mistake and I called confused as to why we were personally being charged. This has never happened to us before until this office. I wasn't accepting that we were being billed and I questioned the bill. Troy Dental admitted to their mistake and the charges were cleared. This issue disrupted our routine as my children and I were on the same schedule of receiving the same services at each visit. Now, we receive certain services at different visits. We thought the issues had been resolved but we were wrong. The following 6 month cleaning was on 17 September 2022. Six months later we received a bill addressed to one of my children as the guarantor/responsible party and the service charges were for my other child. Once again Troy Dental has performed another service not yet due and is blaming it on our insurance company while expecting us to pay for what I thought was a mistake. After reading some of these reviews I see this is common practice at Troy Dental. I've spoken to our insurance company and found that Troy Dental performed more than they were allowed to do. The extra services were denied because they were not yet due to be performed which Troy Dental should be well aware of. Troy Dental did not follow the time guideline allowed for some of the services performed. Troy Dental did more than allowed which is why part of the claim was denied. Troy Dental went beyond what our benefits allow and is expecting us to pay for it. I've called Troy Dental twice, 6 and 7 March 2023, and was told a manager would call me back and as of 8 March 2023 Troy Dental has not returned my calls. I have escalated the situation and it is being looked into. I also cancelled our upcoming scheduled cleanings because I want nothing to do with an establishment that conducts business as described in this review. read more

Norma, the dental assistant, is always great! Very hardworking and approachable. Her passion for her job is very apparent. She also gives outstanding recommendations of the specialty services each dentist in this clinic has to offer. The male dentist is very knowledgeable, gave various treatment options for my chipped tooth. The NEW manager was helpful and friendly. She thoroughly explained the quote for the proposed treatment plan. This clinic took me in on the last minute and the dentist, assistant and manager all stayed over with no complaints. I do not like dentists in general, and I told this one, I've had bad experiences. Well, he didn't help at all! Their so called specialist pulled a molar. A week later, still in pain. He "thought" it may be a dry socket, but not sure? He packed it with meds, and sent me home. A week later, STILL in pain! Something was shredding the side of my tongue! Their specialist said it was a bone spur, so he ground it down. Well...needless to say, I'd had enough! Still in pain, I went to Aspen dental...talk about satisfied! Appt was made quickly and no extras trying to be added. I have a specific tooth I need fixed and they made sure to cater to just that. The office is clean and the staff was all very kind! I went here several years ago when I needed to go on Medicaid for a brief period. My regular dentist did not accept it, and this was the only dentist who did. The dentist told me I needed SIX fillings and that he could "fit me in right away". I was shocked and told him I had only ever had two cavities in my life, at which point he told me that it was clear I had had problems with my teeth before since I had a crown. Well, that was caused from a crack that occurred in my tooth from childbirth, not a cavity! I refused to get them filled and told him I would get a second opinion. I later checked with my regular dentist who said I had no cavities at all. The dentist at Troy Dental was clearing trying to scam for more money from Medicaid. I regret now I didn't report him. Everyone knows how busy life gets so appointment​s are a blessing if executed​ correctly. Regarding my last three visits,​ I was required​ to wait an average of 40-60 minutes. This was just for ​routine cleaning! Very recently my wife has experienced ​similar wait times. This is rude, inconsiderate​ and unprofessional. How would you like your employees​ to show​ up consistently​ late? I'm sure the clinic would not tolerate​ it and nor should the paying customers. This is not a good choice for dental care, in my opinion. I went for a cleaning and x-rays and I was told that I needed to have significant work done to remedy problems that I was completely unaware of. They prepared a written "treatment" plan and tried to pressure me into signing a contract for thousands of dollars of work. I went for a second opinion and it turns out none of the work is needed. If I could give them no stars, I would. The whole staff is SO rude. They would not give us an estimate and we ended up going there and given an outrageous bill. The staff gives you dirty looks and talks about you quietly.They were extremely shady and were telling us all of these weird prices and changing them every time they talked. Will never go there again. We were also told we didn't have to pay a consultation fee if the X-rays were good. This place will nickel and dime you. I have had my insurance for years and have never had to pay for routine exams. They decided to do xrays that were not needed or covered by 100% by insurance. The office staff are extremely rude. the dentists and oral hygienists were good but not worth arguing with the front desk staff about my bill or the services everytime I go there. I told them I wasn't coming back and they had the nerve to call me back to schedule an appointment. Worst dentist office ever!! I went to troy dental for a routine cleaning. I get my teeth cleaned regularly so they aren't that bad. During the cleaning the dentist was so rough I was literally struggling to get away and the dentist never stopped. Half way through the cleaning the dentist told told me to go to the front desk and schedule a time to come back to FINISHED THE CLEANING. Never in my life have i heard of two appointments for a cleaning. My only assumption was because it was noon and they wanted to go to lunch. After my appointment my mouth literally bled for 4 hours. I've never had such a bad interaction with a dentist. After my SECOND appointment they had the nerve to charge me for 2 cleanings. These people should be banned from dentistry or any profession dealing with people. read more
