Second time having a problem with the service on my vehicle. First time, "certified" apparently means missing a bolt holding the frame of the car together during their "thorough inspection." Second time, took in for an oil change; instead of removing the old filter, the tech just jammed a second filter in, resulting in his inability to put the plug back in, and just left it that way. Lost two quarts of oil over the next two weeks (went out of town after the oil change, and wasn't near a mechanic). Had it fixed at my local garage. Not going to wait for that "third strike and you're out"--never taking my vehicle back. read more

They lied to me! I was told I needed 2 pretty big fixes on my car. I took my car into a trusted private mechanic to get another quote and he said neither of the things that I was told were true. Neither of the items I was told needed fixing had any issues at all. Even the mechanic was mad for me. Will never bring my car again and you shouldn't either. This place is dishonest. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the level of professionalism at this Honda location. Customers should not be treated as though they are wasting the staff's time when coming in for service. Experiences like this damage customer trust and reflect poorly not only on the dealership but also on the Honda brand as a whole. While dealerships may be privately owned, they still represent Honda to customers. If this is the level of service being provided, it will ultimately impact customer loyalty and future vehicle purchases. The owner of this dealership should recognize the long-term damage employees can cause to the business when customers are treated poorly. Experience was delayed because they promised job to a technician even though any tech could have done the job. They charged for an assessment that had already been done months earlier at another Honda dealership and did not put the additional fee toward evaporator core which the other dealership had actually diagnosed, not them. They called my car dirty because THEY didn't forwarn me to clean out the console. They broke my front windshield and have refused to get in touch with me over reimbursement even though the service advisor has admitted they broke it. Overall, they will do a good job servicing your car. You can trust your car with them and they will get the job done. However, they severely lack in customer service. I've been to this dealership a handful of times but my parents have been to this dealership for as long as I can remember. All in all, they are just an unfriendly group of folks and are rough around the edges. They don't acknowledge you when you come in. It's hard getting someone's attention. They're always busy on the phone or on the computer. When you're talking with them they don't smile and aren't keen on small talk. It's just an overall cold and unfriendly, unwelcoming place. I usually come in for an oil change. My dad says they actually upcharge me extra fees that they don't charge for him for the same exact service. When looking ar my bill, he actually called them up and yelled at them for charging me something that they didn't charge him for. So that's the kind of business they're doing. Finally, my last visit to them on Oct 11,2021, I decided enough was enough and not to go back anymore. The cashier was extremely friendly, but I had a really bad experience with her that left a bad taste in my mouth even a whole year later. When I checked out, my service man went up to her and gave her my paperwork, telling her my name was Stephanie. She then turned and asked me what my name was. I told her my full name, twice, slowly. I'm asian and look very asian. Each time I told her my name, she kept reaching for another customer's bill that also had a very asian name (not a typical English name like mine). I told her no, that's not my name or my file. My name is Stephanie. But she literally was not listening and kept saying...oh this is your file...sorry I can't pronounce your name! She kept assuming that was me. Listen lady, you were told my name three times. You are assuming based off of how I look that that's my file. It's not. My name is Stephanie. She was so preoccupied by a foreign sounding name in front of her and that I looked foreign, she made the mistake three times before listening to my actual words. It was embarrassing for me and her. I found it extremely unprofessional. If she would have just stopped and listened to me or her colleague she would have found my file immediately, which was literally just handed to her by the service guy. She apologized when she finally found my file and said sorry she should have asked for my name to find the right file. I'm literally staring at her...my name was given to you THREE times. You just didn't hear it bc you assumed I had the foreign name that you can't pronounce and took you three tries to realize you were wrong. It honestly ruined my day and I felt bad that such casual assumptions were being made by such a friendly cashier. Stop making cultural and racial assumptions of your customers and listen to them. Mistakes happen and are no big deal but to repeat the same mistake three times shows that you aren't listening and are too preoccupied. I don't know if she was intimidated by the foreign name in front of her that stopped her from listening or treating me like a human being, or she was having a bad day and was distracted. Whatever it was, truly left a bad taste in my mouth. I'll continue going to other honda dealerships that I've had no issues with. I prefer the page honda in Bloomfield, the honda in ypsilanti, or the honda in ann arbor, all of which had much better customer service. read more

Very impressed by Troy Honda, so I'm updating my review today. I live about five minutes from this Honda so I try to go here when possible; I used to go to Suburban Honda, but that's in Farmington and is a good 30-minute drive. I needed new wiper inserts today because mine were making a horrible screeching noise. I masked up and headed over to Troy Honda. They instructed me to go to the Parts department first. The wiper inserts were only about $15 and the service fee (aka them changing out the inserts) was free! Only like a 5-minute process, but still. I also had printed a 25% off coupon from the Troy Honda website, and I forgot to show that to the Parts employee at first; the cashier recommended I do that, so I went back and he took off the 25%. Great customer service. Total bill: only about $11.50. Very appreciative that they are still open during the COVID pandemic, and that they are providing such fast service. I think the last time I was there was for my oil change and that was pretty fast as well, I only waited about a half-hour. 5 stars for you, Troy Honda. read more

When it came to price he matched the sales price of competing dealerships. This is my first hybrid car. After the sale, he went for a ride in the car with me and gave me detailed instructions on how the features worked. We were interested in buying a new 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid and contacted several dealers after doing our research on the vehicle. Troy Honda was the only place within our search area that offered to sell us the vehicle at MSRP with NO markups and NO "required dealer options". One place, that shall go unnamed, told me there was a $2900 dealer extended warranty required for purchase due to the fact that it was a Hybrid, lol. Others included $300 floor mats, paint protection, etc. in their quotes. Troy Honda doesn't do that. Our head gasket blew after a long trip. It cost roughly $4000 to replace. Just under a year later we took another long trip and it blew again. Shouldn't have been a problem because the part was under warranty. Well, first they tried to get out of it by saying the mileage we put on the car (one family vacation and traveling to and from work) was too much so the warranty didn't apply even though it was less than a year. We put up a fuss and they got permission to honor the warranty. They replace the head gasket and tell us that because we had the turbo replaced by a different mechanic (after the head gasket blew the first time) that that "might" have caused the issue with the head gasket, so they nice again refused to honor the full warranty and are making us pay $2000 to get our car back. This is shady at best and is FAR from the first issue we have had with them. Shop elsewhere! Update: the car didn't even make it 35 miles before breaking down again! They won't pay for the tow and won't offer loaner vehicles or anything even though they CLEARLY didn't fix it and it looks like they may have broken the turbo when replacing the head gasket. read more

The people that work there are unprofessional and unorganized. I bought a new car and 20 days later they said they couldn't take my trade-in (even though all the paperwork was complete and my trade-in was in their lot). Their upper management, was also underwilling to help in any way. I was told that I wouldn't get my title and that I needed to act immediately or else they wouldn't submit my title application for the new car I purchased (again 20 days after all paperwork was completed). Compared to a few of the other dealerships in the Troy Motor Mall and the salespersons at those dealerships, Joe Camilleri wasn't too pushy trying to sell the vehicle. He took the time to explain the features as well as answering questions. I actually had to get a new vehicle after my last vehicle was totaled. And I was in a time crunch to get a new vehicle. Glad that Joe was the first sales person that greeted my mother and I walked into the showroom. I had a great experience at Troy Honda thanks to Rick. I first leased my vehicle earlier this year and anytime I need anything, he makes sure it's taken care of. I had an issue with my battery and I took my car to Pure Honda because it was more convenient. After my car being gone for a whole day, I thought it was fixed but not even 24 hours later I was having the same issue again. One star because zero is not an option. Don't bring Honda recall work to Troy Honda. Came in last week with the service engine light on. Went to an independent mechanic first who hooked it up to diagnostics and said it was a 3rd cylinder issue. Honda hooked it up and said it was the same thing and to bring it back Monday so they could fix it. When I arrived Monday at 7:30, the service department had an attitude. Brad they grumpy puss who was waiting on me was All cussing and fussing at himself. Said they needed to hook my vehicle up yet again to the computer to decide how they will fix it. I said if you can fix it today, in need and oil change too, but let me know before you do anything to it. After waiting over 2 hours and they say my oil change is done and I need to come back next week when they call me to fix the rest. When questions about this I ended up with several rude, grumpy, unapologetic old men making sarcastic comments. Won't ever go back to this service department for anything. They have no interest in fixing Honda recalls and just want to grab cash from customers on overpriced maintenance. read more

This place is where customer service training class flunkees go to get a job. My husband has been getting service here since buying his car, and so today we dropped off his car for an oil change, intending to run errands in my car and then pick his up as soon as it was done. The service guy smirked and made a comment along the lines of "Oh, getting the wifey's oil changed today too?" I've had some bad experiences in the past with car dealerships treating me like an idiot because I'm a woman, so when my husband mentioned the comment to me, I was furious. I don't care how funny you think you are, I don't care if you don't mean offense, there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for referring to a CUSTOMER, paying or potentially paying, in any kind of a derogatory manner. If you are at work, and work in customer service, ACT LIKE IT. The only thing you should be calling a woman who is your customer is either ma'am or Ms. (Name), unless they tell you otherwise. My husband had given them my cell phone number to call when the car was done. The caller must have had blazing green dollar signs shooting out of his ears when the "Wifey" answered the phone, because he promptly gave me the most jolly BS upsell I've heard since Belle Tire. He was stunned into silence when I told him that would NOT be happening today, and asked if my husband's car was ready. Um, no...they still had to do the paperwork and, um... We showed up at the dealership about fifteen minutes later, and the paperwork was ready...but there were no keys. Husband pays and is sent elsewhere to get the keys. Elsewhere won't turn over the keys until he pays. Husband points out how ridiculous this is before finally getting his car. Places like this are what give car dealerships their smarmy reputation. Run far, far away from this one. read more

After my dad called corporate about the poor service, they offered to do the rear brakes (that were worn down to the metal after only 26k miles because of the aforementioned recall) for fairly cheap. We dropped off the car the night before, but they never told us where the key drop box was. So, my mom went back at 8:45am in the morning and got all set. No apology from the service manager, Rich, who took care of our issue. We waited until 5pm, with no call from them to let us know service was done. 8 hours to do rear brakes? Yeah,no. I called them about 5:15 and they said "Oh, the cars done, we were just about to call you". Problem is, Rich said there were only 3 cars ahead of us, and it should be ready around lunch time. Don't go here for service. Hell, don't buy a car here. If their service department is this poorly managed, I can't imagine how terrible the sales floor would be. read more
