I am leaving a review as a fellow driver on the road.... I followed Troy's truck as it pulled a Mercedes down Highway 905 from Longs crossroads to River road at red bluff about 3:45 pm on a Friday afternoon and he was All over the road !!! He hit the shoulder of the road on the right side many many times sending rocks and dirt and mud all over my car. He would swerve toward the solid yellow lines and jerk the truck back. my passenger was also worried. Never used their services and now I know I will not! read more

My insurance sent these dudes out and get my car unstuck. I ask them if they can tie to my apartment, barely 10 miles away and says I have to call insurance to change the job description. while I'm on the phone, they drive off with my car and take it 40-50 miles the opposite direction so I'll incur fees. This towing company was called by our insurance company and when they got to us. They started loading the car on the truck however in the process they pop the front bender off the car. So at this point I started taking pictures due to their lack of service with my car. Plus they didn't have the proper equipment (wheel dolly) to load the car on the truck due to the left front tire was off the lower control arm. They even left the jack unattended while loading the car to the point it turn underneath causing them to use another jack to get it unstuck. So once it was loaded I continued to take more pictures of the scene and where they were attaching the chains/hooks. They chained the hooks in the back lower arm control, which could have damage them by breaking/bending them out of place. Once loaded we proceeded to the owner's property due to being a weekend and the shop was closed. They didn't tell us we couldn't follow them or take pictures all they repeated was "I have a camera recording on the truck and we are doing our job correctly". At the scene they didn't tell me to stop taking pictures just that the truck records. Once at the owner's property I continued to take pictures because of the location and the tow person yell out and said I'm not allowed to record him when I was taking pictures of them dropping the car "nose first into the ground" messing up the front more. I walked away saying I was not recording but taking pictures as I was doing early. He caught an attitude from here and the shop owner wife came and told them they can't drop the car off where they did. And was told that another fee to move it. And they tried to threaten to take the car to their shop since we assume they weren't doing their job correctly. This whole deal is messy and I didn't feel like we received the appropriate response from them as we pay over 300 to have the car tow. We paid for a good service and didn't receive that in return. read more

Last summer, coming home from Myrtle Beach with the family towing my 40ft. travel trailer, I got a flat tire on Ocean Hwy. US 17 in Shallotte. Not being from the area, and with a flat tire on the trailer, I wasn't sure who to call. First couple of places said they couldn't replace a trailer tire. Finally got Troy's and they said they'd be there ASAP. They weren't kidding. They came quickly and changed the tire like they were tying their shoes. I was back on the road in minutes. Had locked my car key in the car's trunk and my car insurance had Chris from Troy's Towing and Recovery come to the rescue. Chris arrived promptly and was personable and respectful. Breaking down on the side of the road SUCKS but they were there so quickly and they were SO competent. We called AAA and they cancelled our ride after 4 hours of waiting but Troy was there within an hour! Called when it was dropped off and let us track the vehicle the whole drive as well. read more

Let me start off by saying we were parked in a business parking lot on a Sunday evening and these crooks towed our vehicle while we were eating dinner. just so happened someone was conveniently circling the parking lot in a blue vehicle saying your cars has been towed to a vacant lot and it's going to cost 400.00 dollars cash to get your car back!! My husband immediately walked up the road to find our vehicle along with approximately 10 other peoples cars that had been towed. He was charging everyone 400.00 dollars cash!! Thats right I said 400.00 hard earned dollars. My husband said these people were heartless. The tow driver said if you can afford to eat in that restaurant you can afford 400.00 dollars. Let me just say this was not an expensive restaurant. The plates start around 15.00 bucks and goes up depending on what you order. Then the driver persisted to say you better be glad my brothers dead or you'd be paying 600.00 dollars!! We did ride over to the parking lot and they're very small signs saying car illegally parked or unauthorized vehicles will be towed. I would NOT let this company tow anything! They are complete scam artist who should be put out of business!! We fInally was able to rounded up enough cash to take our car. If we hadn't he said it would be 500 to pick up our vehicle tomorrow in Tabor City! I realize their were towing signs but he in no way had to charge folks 400.00 dollars This is NOTHING but price gauging!! Total scam artist the way they were setup!! read more
