    Lobby be during breakfastq

There are some poor reviews about this location on the site, I think people have some unrealistic expectations about certain things. Starting with the room, it was good size, the handicap accessibility options were nice, the shower was great it had a full down seat and many handles to hold onto. The blinds that some of the people complained about being broken, sometimes they just look like that because many guests don't know there is a button on the wall and they grab it and try to pull it down themselves so they damaged the blinds. If you know how to work the buttons then it seems to work fine, if you don't know how you should ask before you touch things. The lobby was clean and open and looked very similar to the home2 suites. They have fresh fruit out for you to take anytime you want and hot coffee and tea 24 hours a day. They also had a pool table which is a nice touch. I didn't use it in none in my party did but it was nice to have it there. The guy at the desk who is checking us in said that it's not his normal job but they have been shortstaffed so he was doing it. He was a nice guy and while I had to double check to make sure that he gave us the handicapped accessible room because he did not and he had to back it out and do it over, even though I had reserved one, I'm going to chalk that up to him not being a normal nighttime desk guy. The lady who is doing the breakfast bar was very nice. In fact she was the best employee I encountered. She should get a raise. The breakfast selection however was pretty sad for a Hilton product. I know these are franchises so that's probably on the franchise. We came down about 9 o'clock and everything was pretty much empty. The lady was trying to fill things up but the selection was relatively poor. They had some tired scrambled eggs and some undercooked sausage links but they did have this cool pancake maker machine although I didn't try it, it looked interesting. I took some pictures of the selection so you can see it. The yogurt cups were the smallest I've ever seen outside of Mexico. Again, the breakfast employee was fabulous and she should get a raise. I'm sure it's hard to deal with people who are disgruntled about the quality and quantity of food on a daily basis. So I would come back because I don't eat breakfast so I don't really care about the food although the rest of my party does eat breakfast. They didn't really want to eat this one because it was not very attractive. If you need gluten-free food you're basically out of luck which is not unusual and I don't fault them for that. I would come back here because it was convenient to the highway and clean. Parking was easy.

It's a place to stay. They do have a pool table, and offer complimentary breakfast which was nice. They also have a small gym. There was a large group of children playing pool and enjoying it. Seemed like the group was a baseball tournament group. My room was next to the elevator, so it was a bit loud at first. I was here in work and needed to be up early. Eventually all the noise stopped which was welcomed. Other people in my group said they couldn't sleep well because of banging on the walls and heavy walking. It's not the hotels fault, however thinking maybe they can have a quiet section to the floor for those traveling for business. The room isn't fancy, the shower is small, and the drain wasn't clean. The vent in the bathroom was covered in dust, and on the wall of the shower were hairs that weren't from my body.... They have shareable body wash, shampoo, etc vs the travel ones. Not to far off from the highway. Parking lot was well lit.

First Impressions of the Hotel…read more I've just arrived at the hotel for a business trip, and I must say the first impressions are mostly positive. The hotel has a charming exterior and an interior with a vintage vibe, but in a good way. It's got character. Upon arrival, the receptionist was friendly and helpful, which always makes a great first impression. The parking situation was a bit tricky, though. There is limited parking on-site, but they do have an overflow lot not far away, which is convenient, but still something to keep in mind. The room itself is spacious and adequate. It includes a nice balcony, a TV, and a desk for work. However, there was no refrigerator, which I found a bit inconvenient. Also, there was a slight odd smell in the room, but it wasn't overpowering or unpleasant--just a bit of an odd first impression. One of the highlights of the stay is the complimentary breakfast, which is always a nice touch. But I do have to mention a one thing. There was a small bench at the foot of the bed that I didn't notice was possibly damaged. When I sat down, I unexpectedly sank into it, which was a bit of a surprise. All in all, the hotel meets my needs for this trip. It's got some character and charm, but there are a few areas that could use some improvement.

Being able to walk past the pool to the Riverwalk and sit on the bench while drinking my coffee in the breeze was lovely. However, see the dolphins swim by you in the river ( YES Dolphins!!!) made this place even better. Based on the amount of locals watching and walking by, this is a daily thing. Ok, back to the hotel. There is plenty of parking. When you go in, there is the kindest staff waiting to greet you with a smile. This means a lot. They also have water available which is a nice touch. The restaurant serves Starbucks coffee and some items for breakfast for purchase and dinner too. I just got coffee and an afternoon beverage to enjoy by the pool. The pool is right out back and has lots of seating. There is also a hot tub. The hotel has 5 floors. Our king room was a nice size with plenty of bathroom space. It also included a couch as well as a desk, which was great since I was working from the hotel. The air conditioner worked very well. The room also had a small patio so I was able to open the door and get some nice fresh air. The humidity was kind of high so I didn't keep the door open often. The only small issue was there is a train that goes across the river and it blew its horn pretty early in the AM. Not the end of the world and kind of cool to watch the tracks go down for the train and then up so boats can pass. There is one restaurant across the street which had decent food. We didn't walk to the downtown via the Riverwalk, but you can and it's about an15 minute walk.

This stay was for a quick overnight work trip. I arrived pretty late -- completely exhausted and starving after a three-hour drive -- but the hotel was easy to find with GPS, parking was simple, and I was greeted right away by two very polite front desk associates. The lobby is beautifully maintained and nicely decorated. There's a coffee bar right when you walk in, which is a great touch (though I'm not sure how frequently it's replenished throughout the day). My room was on the second floor, and it was spotless. One of the reasons I love Home2 Suites is how spacious the rooms feel. It truly feels more like a mini apartment than a standard hotel room. There are so many functional spaces to set your things down without feeling cramped. I had a full-size bed, a couch, and a long counter that could easily serve as a workspace for two people at once. I especially appreciate having the option to prepare your own meals. When you travel often, sometimes you just want to stay in and not eat out for every single meal. The bathroom was roomy with amazing hot water -- exactly what I needed to relax my muscles after that long drive. I slept great, no noise issues at all, and woke up fully refreshed. I didn't try the breakfast because my boss had suggested we go out instead. My only general suggestion -- and this applies to many hotels -- would be to focus on serving more fresh, real breakfast options. When you're staying at a Hilton property, you expect quality across the board, including the food. Overall, this was a great stay, and I would absolutely return.

My husband had a conference, and I had a soccer game so it worked out. Got here a little later than expected so I called the front desk before arriving. The lady greeted me kindly and let me know she would be at the desk until later on. I was happy to hear because when I finally arrived, she was actually there. I was greeted with a warm smile and she quickly checked me in so we could get settled. I asked about some amenities I may need and she pointed me to the right direction. They have a washer and dryer, which is something I do use when I go on vacation. The actual room was spacious. Always a plus when it's a couple of people in the room. It was clean and maintained so throughout our stay. Overall great hotel. The only "complaint" I have is the mattress however I feel like this is common in most hotels. Wasn't the best mattress that I have ever laid on but it worked for the couple of nights I stayed.

As others have noted in their reviews, Ken and Jeff are constantly working to keep up this lovely family resort. It is clean and landscaped beautifully, and the rooms are just right! With a sitting area in our two bedroom, we enjoyed the recliner and couch as we watched movies in the evening. In our full kitchen, we stocked the refrigerator from the local Publix and made our breakfast and lunch, which we packed for the beach. Many guests chose to grill out as we saw when we would load up to go to a local restaurant for dinner, but we preferred eating out! On our first night at Hurricane Hanks restaurant down the road, we met up with a resident who offered us more ideas for restaurants for dinner. There's nothing like walking right out onto the beach to spend a morning watching the waves, seeing dolphins frolic, observing osprey catching their breakfast, and swimming in the water among schools of fish. Many of the guests knew each other from yearly vacations, and we have already made our reservation for next year! Anna Maria Island is quiet and family friendly. White Sands Resort offers shuffleboard and corn hole right next to the pool, but the best show is the sunset. On our first night, we were surprised to see how many lined the beach to see God's beauty, of course clapping at the end! Thank you to Ken, Jeff, Joy, and Esther for a wonderful stay. We wish you the best in the coming year, and we look forward to seeing you again!
