    Oats for breakfast

Stayed for 3 nights. With such a short stay, I leave the Do Not Disturb sign on my door and decline housekeeping. On the plus side- There was enough towels and TP to last 3 days Housekeeping never tried to enter the room Check in desk super friendly and supportive They actually have a nightlight in the bathroom On the downside - one of our light bulbs was burnt out The only Kleenex was in the bathroom The decor was weird. It was like they were trying to create a modern Florida vibe. But it just didn't go with the dark gray walls, brown carpet and walnut Formica. The free breakfast was carb city. Nothing light or healthy.

    Looks inviting...

I stay at a lot of Hilton properties...over 150 nights last year, so you have some idea. This is a clean, calm, inviting property. The service is excellent and the rooms are fantastic. I know where I'll be staying when I'm in the area...right here!

I was there turning in a guide dog puppy to the guide dog school (Southeastern Guide Dogs), so they gave me this sign to hang on my door!

I spent two nights at this Hampton Inn when I was in town to return a guide dog puppy to the local guide dog school (Southeastern Guide Dogs). I checked in late on a Thursday evening and was greeted by Heather. She got me checked in, gave me a sign to hang on my door to let housekeeping know I had a service dog with me, and got me cold water bottles (and my dog room temp water bottles)! Our stay was great. There's a thermostat in the room, allowing you to adjust the temp. Breakfast was delicious and had a good variety. At the waffle bar, they always had plain vanilla waffle mix but rotated out a "flavored" mix (cinnamon roll on Friday morning, blueberry on Saturday morning). All the staff I encountered were friendly and pleasant. There's a gas station, the outlet mall, and plenty of restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel; but the hotel is set back enough from the main road that I never heard any traffic noise. On Friday I even got a call from the front desk asking if I needed room service or recommendations for meals, which I did not but still appreciated. The only "complaint" I had was that I couldn't get the inside shade to go all the way down. The outer one did, but for some reason the blackout shade wouldn't. I was on the first floor and occasionally got headlights/street light and I am already a light sleeper, so I needed it closed. But I put two pillows off the other bed in the window and it was not a big deal. Probably could have called the front desk for help, but it was an easy temporary fix for me for just two nights, so I didn't see much need to do that. There was a laminated letter with the managers info and some other info on there, in case it was needed. A nice touch and, had I needed assistance, it would have been easy to get it. Shower was hot, everything was clean. Next time I am here to turn in my next guide dog puppy to Southeastern Guide Dogs, I'll definitely be staying here!

From the nasty check in person at the desk to another attitude not caring person at check out , this hotel DOES NOT CARE ABOUT IT'S GUESTS!!! Still waiting for my paid bill which they never sent. Our family had 4 rooms booked so we WERE loyal Hilton customers. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN !!! From the Ceiling falling down in my room with dusty air vents, Dead Bugs in bathroom, dusty and stained furniture in lobby. I even told them and they did not care... I Have pictures which prove and tell it all!

The cockroach that was on the wall and hided herself behind the curtains until it fall in the ac.

We checked in and the lobby was dingy and dirty was hard to breathe, when we got in the room there was a Huge cockroach (at least 3 inches) on the wall and it ran into the A/C. We talked to the management, they offered moving us from the second floor to the fourth, as if that bug won't reach to us there or be everywhere in the hotel, and the cockroaches were common thing in Florida. No way we could have stayed there, front desk said that that bug wasn't cockroach it was something else that flies and comes in from the gutter. This Hotel is disgusting, Nasty!! I have a video but I can't add here. Go someplace else!!!

Hampton Inn & Suites Ellenton/Brandenton, FL Stayed at this particular Hampton Inn for one night (June 16th, 2017). The hotel is perfectly located near gas station, stores and lots of dining options. We were greeted promptly and given our room. Our room was on the 5th floor and was quite comfortable, nice and clean: it had 2 beds, fridge, microwave, desk, free wifi, large bathroom and lots of amenities and coffee maker. The only issue was the lack of clear explanation on how to use their complimentary wifi, the front desk person just gave us verbal instructions and sounded a bit upset when we called back lost. Other than that, nice complimentary hot breakfast, lots of choices, lots of seating space. Overall, great option and a nice quick one night stay. Would we go back?? Maybe.

This spot is serving meal kits as well as offering delivery during #COVID. I'm so glad! Of course nothing beats the in-person experience but delivery is a great second option right now. The food was a little cold, but I understand this is a new operation for them. I'm thinking of booking the suite with the jacuzzi in it to write another amazing review. Oh and the hotel is perfectly located by the mall and my favorite thing. FOOD everywhere. God is Good. Don't forget that. Amen! 5/5

A wipe for the remote, a nice touch.

From food to shopping this location is close to all of it. Very friendly staff as they acknowledged me each time I entered the building. They still had USA Today's out even at 6:00pm in the evening. Nice fitness center and my room had the typical Micro-Fridge combination. This location was $20.00 cheaper than the Hampton Inn in Sarasota.

Cons: 1)Did my own, online check-in and checkout which seemed like a lot of work for me. I still had to go to the desk and show my id. 2)Receptionist was not helpful. I called the desk to ask about no hangers. She just said she didn't know and called me sweetheart. 3)Lighting in all fixtures was almost flourescent blue colored. 4)Very low water pressure in bathroom sink. 5)No hangers in closet. 6)No dishes, towels, or dish soap in the kitchenette. 7)Beds were very uncomfortable. My mattress leaned towards the edge. 8)The bedroom had no window and felt cave-like.

I couldn't have been more wrong -- this place was great. The room was spacious and scrupulously clean, and surprisingly well-furnished. A sitting area had a couch and coffee table, there was a good-sized desk for working. The bed was comfortable, the towels were large and fluffy, the toiletries were nice. The AC was more than sufficient. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the pool was gorgeous. So okay, the location was rather industrial, but who cares? You wouldn't be spending much time there, right? And the price, for all that you got, was amazingly reasonable. Oh, and the free breakfast wasn't fancy, but it was perfectly functional. I highly recommend this place!

First Impressions of the Hotel…read more I've just arrived at the hotel for a business trip, and I must say the first impressions are mostly positive. The hotel has a charming exterior and an interior with a vintage vibe, but in a good way. It's got character. Upon arrival, the receptionist was friendly and helpful, which always makes a great first impression. The parking situation was a bit tricky, though. There is limited parking on-site, but they do have an overflow lot not far away, which is convenient, but still something to keep in mind. The room itself is spacious and adequate. It includes a nice balcony, a TV, and a desk for work. However, there was no refrigerator, which I found a bit inconvenient. Also, there was a slight odd smell in the room, but it wasn't overpowering or unpleasant--just a bit of an odd first impression. One of the highlights of the stay is the complimentary breakfast, which is always a nice touch. But I do have to mention a one thing. There was a small bench at the foot of the bed that I didn't notice was possibly damaged. When I sat down, I unexpectedly sank into it, which was a bit of a surprise. All in all, the hotel meets my needs for this trip. It's got some character and charm, but there are a few areas that could use some improvement.

Under normal circumstances, this room is typically much cheaper, but we had limited options. We checked out a day early, came home and decided to commute back and forth to the tournament for the following reasons: A. The fact that they made me wait over an hour to check in with 2 kids because they couldn't figure out their reservation system? Other people however were able to check in with no problem during my wait. B. The odor of cigarettes was not masked well by the cheap air freshener in our non smoking room. C. When I tried to ask a question about the check in issues,'Tiffany' (I can't be sure since she wasn't wearing a nametag), snapped at me "Do you want to give me a minute?!?" I also offered to go eat and come back while they sorted it out, and gave 'Tiffany' my cell number to call when the room was ready. 35 minutes later I was tired of waiting and returned to find out the successfully checked me in. I asked why she didn't call and told me she tried twice. I asked what number she called and with major attitude she said "the one you gave me". I asked again and ultimately found out that she wrote my number down incorrectly. Rather than apologize, she suggested that I told her the wrong number. As if I don't know my own phone number. D. The carpets in the room were so dirty that they turned the bottoms of our feet and socks black. E. I found bed bugs at 3 AM. (See video and picture) https://youtube.com/shorts/1_wzqtttHIo?feature=share F. I have tried to contact the property GM 3 times and gotten no response. I reached out to corporate (Choice Hotels) and they say that it must be dealt with at the local level, but they offered me 10k rewards points. When I protested they upped the offer to 20k. I can promise you that I will never stay at another Choice Hotels property, so no need for points. Lastly, (AND I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS MAY BE PURELY COINCIDENTAL), since we left the Quality Inn my wife has had sharp, piercing headaches daily. Again, may be coincidence. She has a doctors appointment Monday. Fingers crossed.

There is plenty of parking. When you go in, there is the kindest staff waiting to greet you with a smile. This means a lot. They also have water available which is a nice touch. The restaurant serves Starbucks coffee and some items for breakfast for purchase and dinner too. I just got coffee and an afternoon beverage to enjoy by the pool. The pool is right out back and has lots of seating. There is also a hot tub. The hotel has 5 floors. Our king room was a nice size with plenty of bathroom space.
