First impressions was "why do I feel like I am not near water". I was wrong though because out on the backside is the amazing Riverwalk. Being able to walk past the pool to the Riverwalk and sit on the bench while drinking my coffee in the breeze was lovely. However, see the dolphins swim by you in the river ( YES Dolphins!!!) made this place even better. Based on the amount of locals watching and walking by, this is a daily thing. Ok, back to the hotel. There is plenty of parking. When you go in, there is the kindest staff waiting to greet you with a smile. This means a lot. They also have water available which is a nice touch. The restaurant serves Starbucks coffee and some items for breakfast for purchase and dinner too. I just got coffee and an afternoon beverage to enjoy by the pool. The pool is right out back and has lots of seating. There is also a hot tub. The hotel has 5 floors. Our king room was a nice size with plenty of bathroom space. It also included a couch as well as a desk, which was great since I was working from the hotel. The air conditioner worked very well. The room also had a small patio so I was able to open the door and get some nice fresh air. The humidity was kind of high so I didn't keep the door open often. The only small issue was there is a train that goes across the river and it blew its horn pretty early in the AM. Not the end of the world and kind of cool to watch the tracks go down for the train and then up so boats can pass. There is one restaurant across the street which had decent food. We didn't walk to the downtown via the Riverwalk, but you can and it's about an15 minute walk. read more

Very outdated and dilapidated property. The courtyard outside has lots of broken items. The bathroom did not appear to be cleaned, hair everywhere, white spots on counter & dirty lint in air vent. The balcony door was also broken and would NOT lock. Pool was very dirty. Have to get pool towels from front desk, dirty too. No comforter, thin sheets, hard bed. Pool area open to public coming through the pool gate from the Riverwalk. Location is great and views are amazing, only positives. read more

Check-in was easy and room 329 was clean & comfortable for one night. There was plenty of free parking in front. Our room was in the back of the Marriott with a view of the Riverwalk. In the lobby was a market, Starbucks, and lots of space to sit. Our basic room came with a view of the river, refrigerator, antiquated coffee maker, and a large screen television. During the night we heard noises and banging, in the morning we woke up to the sound of neighboring alarm clocks. Water pressure was good, but the water kept dripping.There was a small fitness room & a laundry room on our floor. The window/doors are super thin so you can hear EVERYTHING - people, traffic, boats, etc. Do not recommend. read more

I travel for a living and am currently a silver elite member of Marriott Bonvoy but this was a first for me. Requested a room clean and returned back to my room to my bed nicely made but with disgusting sheets under the covers including blood stains!! The general managers response was "this sometimes happens" and had no concern what so ever. Nice place with a friendly staff. We are locals who packed and moved from nearby Palmetto. The Courtyard was our home for 2 days while moving. I accidentally left a nice, large beach towel in the room. One of the housekeeping staff found it and held it for me for 2 days. She told me she would normally have the staff throw it away but she could tell it was a nice towel so she held on to it figuring someone would come back for it. Check-in Process - Exceptional (thank you Flor for fixing my rewards). Condition of Grounds & Entrance - Clean and Orderly. Elevators - Super Fast although it's only 5 floors so (2) works well Accommodations (Riverview 5th Floor) Clean, comfortable, good lighting, lots of electrical receptacles, nice bedding and sitting area plus the balcony was a nice touch. Food - Great Breakfast - Starbucks (two thumbs up). Price - Good Value. Parking - Lot of spaces near entrance. Noise - There is still renovations going on as of August 2019 but the hours are managed so it wasn't a factor. Staff - Very friendly, well trained, professional and very accommodating. I was VERY disappointed with this hotel. I paid a premium price to be here over the spring break season because the location was great on paper being about halfway between Tampa and Naples, and the rooms had nice balconies (or so I thought) and were right on the riverfront. I specifically ordered a room on a higher floor with a balcony, but they "upgraded" (it really was a downgrade) me to a first floor room with a patio about the size of a closet. The patio was so narrow basically no chairs fit on it, and bushes were in front of it so all I could do was stand there, and it was right along the riverwalk so people could see into my room and even walk onto my patio if I didn't have the blinds closed all day and night. I paid a premium for the balcony room, and booked months in advance, and they totally ripped me off! Honestly even though I was very angry about my terrible room placement after specifically booking something else, having a higher room would've likely not been much better anyways because all of the trees on the outside were so close to the balconies and overgrown so they were sticking into them, completely blocking any view and giving no room to sit on them at all. The hotel was also dated and rather run down, with dirty carpets and semi broken and worn furniture. There were also multiple lizards scurrying through the hallways and hanging around the ice machine. The other thing is that the hotel is hard to get to and in a weird location that is very confusing. Also the noise and lights from the cars at night coming from the bridge was a lot worse than anticipated. I'd highly recommend staying far away from this hotel because they probably won't keep your booking the same and there's plenty of problems that make this place unenjoyable. read more

To my the place is way past an update and must have very serious problems as towels lined the floor to cover leaks. Some might have been sewage as they were discolored. Awnings were gone and pool chairs were sparse. The North side of the hotel was roped off. To me Marriott and the ownership of this hotel should be ashamed. The staff is great and trying to work with what they have. read more

Exceptional service!! Never have I had such good service from hotel staff. From the front desk to the housekeepers, everyone was so friendly and helpful! Room was great, pool was great, access to Riverwalk was nice. But it was the staff that made our visit truly memorable. read more

This place is kind of a dump. The hallway carpets are super stained and it smells weird out there, the bathroom has black mold on the walls, the shower never got hotter than room temperature, and on the shower curtain more mold and I think a blood stain, the bed had MULTIPLE long black hairs and the creases like someone had laid on it (old sheets?), and the AC barely worked, just an absolutely awful experience, absolutely Wyndham energy in here. But the young lady working the desk was very nice and apologetic. read more

Overall, it's a nice place. First hotel I've stayed at where you have to pay for coffee though. Also, here is the view from room 201. Great for happy hour, hosting friends, and wondering why they gave you this room when the hotel is clearly not full. Haha. Incompetent. The entire staff is completely incompetent. You should not have to call management on four separate occasions and then follow up with corporate to get a stay credited that was booked through the Marriott app. Everybody wants to point the finger at another department, and then that department asks you to go through the app for the missing credit. My time is far too valuable to play these games. Since you guys want me to jump through hoops to get proper credit that I've paid for, I will take my business to a non Marriott property to avoid the headache with dirty rooms, poor hospitality, and overall poor customer service. read more

The place is off the beaten path, a bit away from food places but close to the convention center where the event was. The lady who took care of us when we checked in was extremely rude and unfriendly. Checked us in, handed over the keys and nothing more. We were in shock because that's not Marriott culture. The following day we ran into her again and asked her for places to eat breakfast. Surprisingly she was pleasant and talkative. She gave ya a couple of suggestions and her personal favorite. The hotel is modern and clean. Our room was espacios, airy, and it had a partial view of the bay. Large bathroom, comfortable beds. Really nice stay. Very happy Would we stay here again?? We've stayed here a few times and have been very happy. The place is clean with very nice staff. It is within walking distance to the downtown which has a variety of place to grab a bite late at night should you arrive late. The fan and cooling was a bit off this time but we figured it out and slept in the bed further way from the unit. You must use your ecard to come and go after hours for security. The beds were comfortable and clean and the showers were ok. We will stay again. read more

The 4 most important considerations in a hotel for me is location, cleanliness in lobby & room, room service and cost. This hotel is getting 3 starts only because the location is tremendous when going to the convention center. Otherwise ... My daughter, infant grandson and myself checked into this hotel on a Thursday to stay until Saturday (I had made reservations). The location was grand and the hotel seemed clean. Upon check-in I was given a bit of an attitude, very minor, by the desk attendant but it was 10pm and she may have had a rough evening so I ignored it. The room seemed ideal. Clean and good layout. When I returned the cart to the lobby after unloading our luggage I even told the front desk everything looked great. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with bronchitis right before our convention so I knew I was going to sleep on the couch and give my family the bedroom to sleep. There was no extra blanket to be found so I had to take the bedspread off the bed to use as a cover on Thursday evening. The night was a success and we headed out for Friday. Upon our return we discovered quite a different room. There were no towels whatsoever. My daughter's sheets (bed on the left) were all completely on the ground. Still tucked in but not in the bed - they were pulled out the side and laying on the floor. No photo does not show that. And the empty bed I was using as a linen closet was...untidy. Picture has been uploaded. The thin spread was jammed behind the pillows. We had to rectify not having towels. We called the front desk explaining our lack of linens and asked for bath towels, wash clothes and one hand towel. The response was quite fast but the angry face on the young women who knocked on our door when I opened up was surprising. She said, "Here. Is there anything else you want,". I said no thank you and she walked away. I went to put up the towels and discovered she had not brought what we asked for. So we called front desk again explaining the dabacle but being light hearted and apologizing for being a pain in their bum. Again, almost as sudden a knock at the door and that unhappy face which never smiled in either trip held out towels and a bath mat saying there is all they had. No smile. No apology. And walked away. Upon check out on Saturday when asked if everything was satisfactory with our stay I mentioned the towels and the clearly unhappy housekeeper. The front desk said, "I know exactly who you are talking about. She always has a bad attitude," while smiling and raising her eyebrows. I asked why they would keep an employee like that and she said, "I don't know what the motivation is of HR to keep an employee like that." She said, "How about I buy you a cup of coffee." I say no thank you because I don't drink coffee and she said oh too bad. Apparently offering to buy me a tea or soft drink crosses the line on apologizing. Ha Ha Food for thought. With attitudes like that how do I really know if I was sleeping on clean sheets to begin with? With a simple I am so sorry none of your towels were returned would have helped the situation. And made me forget the front desk attitude on check-in. But now I put it all together and question everything. Sounds exaggerated doesn't it? Or does it? Aren't I the consumer here paying for a facility and customer service? It would appear they believe I am at their mercy. read more

In minutes of walking into our room, my husband noticed a joint on "freshly" cleaned balcony. We immediately notified the front desk, who in their defense, apologized.However, the front attendant, Michael, assured us that this issue would be taken care of. Not a bad hotel for the price. You can find better deals at superior hotels and locations but this isn't a bad choice. If there was a larger restaurant area in the hotel it would improve a ton. There isn't a ton of variety in the area that is walking distance and a lot of times while traveling you want a decent meal that is readily available (along with a friendly bartender to shoot the shit with). Workout room is pretty good. It's not huge but it has free weights, treadmills, etc. Rooms have always been clean. I will add that it's nice being right next to the ocean so you can walk on the boardwalk read more

This Courtyard Marriott meet all my expectations. Pet Friendly and courteous staff that went above and beyond one afternoon for me. The bistro in this location closes at 1pm and on one of my ventures out I must of overlooked the sign and walked up to the counter. But they saw me standing there and within those two minutes accommodated me. When he explained he had to get change cause the register was closed then I realized how late I was (1:40pm). That kinda service just WoWed me! This hotel has so much potential. Room 318 had a lump on the floor that I had tripped on several times. The hot tub/spa has a lot of pebbles and stains inside and looks dirty. Love the location but for the price they need to update and do a lot more if they want people coming here and actually enjoy the place. read more

Right on the water, this location is quite nice. The rooms are large and comfortable, but the AC does run constantly. It was either TOO warm or Too cold. But the bed was super comfortable. The cafe was... special. Yes, they serve starbucks, and that's fabulous, HOWEVER they have special hours and are not open what you'd think they would be.. aka.. normal day time hours. They are only open from 6:30 to 2 and then they re-open at 5:30 to 8:oo pm. They do offer food.. real food and the portions are fairly large but the prices are hotel prices. read more

Case in point: A dog was barking for at least 4 hours and the hotel staff would not do anything other than claim to be calling the registered guest. No offers to move the guests who were not able to sleep or otherwise enjoy their stay. The management did nothing when asked about it the next day, other than to hide behind a pet friendly statement. The hotel also does not have a complementary breakfast despite it being in the reservation. The front desk did nothing to assist. In all, one of the worst stays I have had in decades of travel. I rate this hotel AVOID. I've canceled my future reservations at all Marriott properties and returned to Hilton. read more

How has nobody mentioned the abysmal WiFi yet? I called down to ask if there were issues and right away I was asked if I use an iPhone or Android. I told the employee that I was having issues logging in and staying on the network with my laptop. My colleague had the same issue. Kept getting dropped. Makes it hard to get any work done. I refuse to eat any of the food since colleagues have said just putrid things about it. I won't waste my time and money. It's an obvious renovation. Still old, stained tub and bathroom tiles. Other than that, it's the standard Courtyard you would expect (decor wise). Friendliness of staff and the pool area are the only thing that gets this hotel any stars. read more

This was the worst. I brought my dog and was put on the 2nd floor in the middle of the hallway. When I requested a first floor room I was told there were none available but they would notify me when one became available. A day later I'm at the front desk and they were directing a new quest to her room ON THE FIRST FLOOR. When I confronted her about it she said there was nothing she could do about it. The shower curtain was torn, there was only 2 packets of coffee in the room and the "kitchen area" was a small counter and a smaller frig on the floor. Very poor visit. read more

Ants ants ants and bad check in experience. Got here at 10:35 pm and no one was at the front desk. The security man said I'd have to wait since the front desk person had to step away but didn't say how long. Next I overheard him tell someone that must have called the front desk a couple of times already that they'd have to wait until the third shift front desk person gets in at 11. Tired from my flight and with an early morning meeting, all I want to do is check in so I can get some rest. Finally the front desk manager comes back and is unapologetic and didn't even say thank you for waiting. More than being pissed about her lack of customer service, it's unacceptable that there is only one front desk person on staff. After getting into the hotel room and about to go to bed, I noticed an ant crawling around the bed. Next I see there's 3 crawling on the fridge! I called front desk and they said they couldn't do anything about it. It's already past 12:30 now and can't sleep bc I see there's another ant by the clock (with the incorrect time) next to the bed. The hotel was decent. It is located right by the hospital so it would be super convenient if that was the reason for being in the area. There is also plenty of parking. The hotel appears to have been redone recently but you could tell things were just covered up or done cheaply. The "wood" floors in the elevator were pretty warped. The floor in my room was also uneven which you could feel through the carpet. The workout room was more than adequate and everything worked! USA lacrosse was staying at the hotel so it was decked out with USA decals etc. Staff was friendly. read more

After putting up with the blizzards in our hometown of Pittsburgh, my husband Rick and I decided to head down to FL to watch some spring training. We made reservations at this Courtyard by Marriot and am I ever glad we did. To begin with, we had a pretty good rate, just $139.00 per night for a one king bed room. The room had a balcony with a gorgeous view, flat screen TV, duvet covers for the pillows, etc. Only thing is, their pool is an outdoor one and it was still a little cold to partake in it. They do, however, have a good fitness facility and I took advantage of it. The hotel itself is located on the riverfront. The street it's on is very pleasant--a palm tree lined boulevard of condos, hotel, and offices. read more
