It's obvious the staff is well trained and checkin was seamless. This charming downtown hotel was clean, updated, well stocked with Towels and essentials. Decor was modern and everything appeared new. There are 2 restaurants on site. One more of a rooftop bar and another a modern American food restaurant called the revitalist. (See review). Parking is Valet with in/out privileges. If you are visiting Huntsville this is definitely the place to stay. We typically stay closer to space center but this quick drive is well worth it for a step up from the Hiltons other local brands without breaking the bank. Quick easy walk to all the local establishments.

If you decide not to leave the hotel, this location offers a rooftop bar (Baker & Able) and the Revivalist. We visited Baker & Able, while it took a while to receive service , the drinks were fantastic. I do believe they were short staff during the night we went, but overall it didn't damper the night. The environment inside the hotel was comforting and safe. I door dashed pastries from a local bakery. Unfortunately, I was not at the hotel to receive the order for a few hours. They remained outside of our room untouched. One suggestion, the shampoo, conditioner, soap in the shower is hard to access due to the pumps wind very short. I hope they change the containers to be user accessible.

Drury delivered all that PLUS dinner each night. I've never stayed at a Drury before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a well executed mix of clean comfort, with a professional yet family friendly vibe and atmosphere . Is it a 5 star upscale resort type experience? No. But it is nicely decorated, CLEAN, and has some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered, especially on a work trip. The rooms were spacious and clean, and everything actually worked as expected (air conditioning, water, etc... you never know with these government rate hotels). The breakfast was buffet style with lots of options. I've recently started leaning into high protein and fiber meals, so it was nice to have more than processed pastries and pancakes to choose from. The fitness room, although sparse in terms of free weights, was also clean and spacious, and the cardio equipment looked almost brand new. It overlooked the pool area, which looked just as clean and well kept as the rest of the hotel. But the unexpected added bonus was the evening dinner meal. I knew about it in advance, but I was expecting a couple of snack-like foods (veggie tray, trail mix, etc) like I've experienced at other hotels who offered a social hour or evening manager's special event. But this was a full on dinner buffet with daily rotating meals AND three alcoholic beverages. It was kind of typical cafeteria quality, but it saved me from having to go out to dinner or drinks for the three nights of my stay. And just thinking about the convenience of that fact alone if I were also traveling with the whole family would make it worth it.

We noticed that the hotel was extremely clean and we loved the way it was decorated. We checked in and we were given a quiet room, as l'd requested. The room was very bright and perfectly set up. We had requested 2 queen size beds and the room came with a flat screen television, a comfortable armchair and a desk chair for anyone needing to do any computer work. The entire room was clean, fresh feeling and the a/c worked well. The bathroom was large for a hotel room, the shower and tub were bigger than I expected and the water pressure was great. This hotel has breakfast included which was delicious. It also a "kickback" in the afternoon which is food such as taco meat and nacho chips, chicken breast, and white, fettuccine sauce, barbecue sliders and mac & cheese.. It was good food in the evenings. They also provided three alcoholic beverages from their list per day and popcorn in the evening along with soda. This was all included with our stay. l've never stayed at a Drury hotel before, but I think I'm going to search for them in my future travels! I was extremely happy with my stay in every aspect of my experience with the hotel. I did not use the fitness center, pool, whirlpool, or conference center. I wish I had been told about this hotel before. Again, thank you for making my experience so memorable.

Overall, I had a "very good" experience while I was here, even with a few annoyances. For the benefit of the reader, I'll highlight the pros and cons of this hotel, from my perspective. First, let's start with the pros, based on my experience: I was very pleased with the level of cleanliness, comfort, quietness, safety, and value of the hotel rooms here. These five attributes are the most important ones for me when staying at any hotel. The overall layout of this hotel is pleasant and inviting. The majority of the staff was professional and friendly. I appreciated that my hotel room had items that some hotels don't have, like a microwave, a mini refrigerator and a safe. I was also pleased with the free breakfast that this hotel provides for their customers, as well as the good coffee that is available in the lobby, 24/7. Finally, I was also glad that this hotel offered free parking for their customers. Now, for the cons that I experienced, and there were three: First, upon my arrival, I was not offered a free welcome gift, as is typical for all elite Marriott members. Usually, this is not an extravagant gift, and often consists of some free water bottles, free cookies or something like that. The second con for me was after I took my first shower in my hotel room, I was surprised to find a considerably large puddle of water in the bathroom just outside the shower. At first I thought I must not have properly shut the shower door, but then I noticed this occurred after every shower, regardless of how well the door was shut. It was annoying to have to avoid this puddle of water in the bathroom that was always there. Finally, for the third con I experienced, after staying here for a few days, I noticed that my magnetic key would not grant me access into the hotel from the back entrance. I always get two magnetic keys because sometimes they are faulty, but then I noticed that my second key would not allow me to gain entry either. I was forced to either wait for another customer to enter and I could piggyback on their entry or walk all the way around the hotel to gain entry through the front. And, I thought this error might have just been isolated to the back entrance, but after arriving at my hotel room I noticed that neither of my magnetic hotel keys would allow me to gain entry into my room either. Coming to the conclusion that my keys were entirely switched "off" for some reason, I went all the way back down to the hotel receptionist to have them "turn on" my magnetic keys again. After working a long day, this was incredibly annoying to say the least, and I was only more annoyed that the lady working as the hotel receptionist was not apologetic at all for their error. Again, despite the fact that I experienced three annoyances while I was here, my overall experience was "very good." Based on my experience while I was here, this hotel earned a 4-star rating from me.

The bed was comfortable, and the AC kept the room nice and cool on that hot June day. I liked that there was a separate toilet, mirror, and sink from the shower area. It made getting ready a lot easier. They also had a pullout out sofa and a microwave oven and a mini fridge. At some hotels, this is not the norm, and sometimes you have to pay extra for a microwave and fridge. Thank you for including these!! The location was also great. It was super close to the downtown area, Big Spring Park and Campus 805.

I also appreciated that when I lost my only ChapStick, the staff kindly gave me one from their shop at no charge, which was a nice gesture. That said, there were several disappointments. The pool area did not match the photos online. The chairs were much more basic than pictured, the surrounding area was concrete instead of brick, and the overall atmosphere felt less luxurious than expected. The shower water pressure was very weak. The room door was difficult to open and had to be pulled firmly to fully latch when closing. While walking through the halls, I noticed several room doors that appeared closed but could have easily been pushed open because they had not latched properly. There were also a few smaller issues. The coffee cup lids did not fit properly, and the breakfast buffet was mediocre, especially for the $18 price. I even noticed a dirty plate mixed in with the stack of clean plates. On the positive side, a regular cup of coffee from the café was reasonably priced at $3.22. While the room was generally clean, I did find a hair and a makeup stain on one of the pillows. Overall, the stay was decent thanks to the friendly staff and comfortable bed, but the property did not quite live up to the expectations set by the photos and amenities.

The clerk gave the number to call the front desk once I was able to reach the person who made the reservation. No offer was made to be comfortable in the lobby. The person who made the reservation could not get the front desk to answer despite calling multiple times so they called me back. I walked back to the hotel so they could talk to staff, but the staff wanted them to call the desk instead. Again, they could not get through so they called me back and asked me to give staff my phone so they could speak with them. When I went to hand the clerk my phone she acted like I had the Ebola virus. The clerk instead prompted them to get on the Bonvoy app to add my name. Nothing during the registration prompts you to add the other guest's name. The staff didn't even bother to mention that we could use the electronic door key. The room's space is tight. All luggage had to go on the long couch. The shower door did not close all the way. When you leaned forward to wipe after using the bathroom you practically ended up banging your head on the glass shower wall. This is how close the shower was to the toilet. Despite two guests being noted on the reservation only one robe, soap, lavender oil, water was provided. The mini bar was empty. The firm bed aggravated the sciatica. The pillows were too soft not matching the bed's firmness causing my head and neck to slump downward. The room had no adjustable thermostat and was so cold. There were no drawers to put your clothes. The nightstand had no drawers either and was designed in a way to where your stuff fell off of it. At the nightstand you have the charger station and hotel phone. The small space and design did not hold all devices and their cables that needed charging. There are no ceiling lights just lamps in the room so the light were not adequate. The room was cleaned once the entire time. The keys had to be constantly reset. The door that you took the luggage cart through was tightly spaced and barely got luggage and luggage cart through. There were no pet waste bags for the pet bathroom area but luckily we brought our own. There was no trash bin to put the pet waste bags in causing us to have to walk all the way to the front of the hotel to dispose of pet waste. Those trash cans outside the front were always overflowing with trash the entire time we were there. The hotel lobby smelled good. The lights above the hotel clerks looked extremely dirty and were dusty. The parking didn't accommodate the amount of guests the hotel had. The parking spaces were so tight you had to constantly back in and out to maneuver your way in and out the parking space. The ice machine was broken on our floor and when I told the hotel staff about it her suggestion was to go to another floor to get some ice. All calls went unanswered when calling from the hotel room. The room smelled. The hallways smelled and were hot. We didn't even bother with the pools, hot tub, gym, room service, cafe, or restaurant because after our experience up to this point we did not trust much else. I had to wait in line whenever I needed to have help at the front desk. There was mostly one person helping everyone at the front desk. At one point the front desk left me waiting at the counter while she held a conversation with a guest at the hotel door. Our check out was at 12pm so tell me why we get a knock on our door at 10 am asking if we are checking out? Then to add insult to injury the person who was talking to us could not understand English. I had to whip out my phone pull out Google Translate and write my response in Spanish so she could read my response. We ended up checking out by phone because by this point we had had it up to eyes with the trouble from this place. If this was a five star hotel we could not tell! The best thing about the staff was valet parking staff. They always greeted and chatted with us and were very helpful.
