Top-notch company. Brad installed a new fan motor for me. He was kind enough to let me watch and see how he did the job while providing me with some free HVAC education along the way. After the new fan was installed, the unit still would not start up and cool. Brad quickly diagnosed that the unit was not receiving 240 volt power, checked the nearby breaker on the wall, and informed me that the breaker was failing. After flipping the breaker a few times, the unit came on and cooled. I will replace the failing breaker myself later today as electrical work is not part a fan motor replacement job. read more

This is a long overdue review that this company truly deserved. We had a AC breakdown at our newly purchased home in June last year. I reached out to the original installer, a large local AC company, who told us that the repair would cost a few grands and they couldn't make the AC work temporarily. I reached out to Tru Comfort. I found Tru Comfort by their yelp reviews. Seemed like a good and honest company to rely on to fix my heating issue. Beg to differ. Unhappy to say the issue was not what the technician diagnosed. Not honest costing me $650 for freeon alone and technician suggested I get either a new coil due to a severe leak ($3K +) or buy a new unit ($10k+). Note, my existing unit is Y2015. Technician left not resetting the board so system did not run warm. I called another company for a second opinion who confirmed system was working properly replacing only the capacitor. Very disappointed and would never recommend Tru Comfort to anyone. read more

We had Brad and his team install a Trane AC unit in 2020. They had great pricing and great service! Recently we had a power surge through our neighborhood and it blew one of the fuses on the unit. Our house was heating up fast and I called Brad to see if he could help. He responded to my message within 5 minutes and was at my house 30 minutes later. Owner Brad Steinbrecher took good care of my a.c. problem. He came out on short notice (it was 113 outside and 104 inside the house). My a.c. unit is pretty old, but he took the time to diagnose its problem rather than just try to sell me a new one. Once he figured out that the problem was the fan motor had died, he ordered a new one, it came in a couple days, and he installed it and everything is working now. I've been having HVAC issues for several years now, and have had several other companies service my unit, but it has never been quite "right". The most recent issue was my fan would not shut off even when I had the system turned off on the thermostat. I contacted Drew at Tru Comfort and he came out and took a look. It took Drew maybe 30 minutes to figure out that the issue was the main controller board where the 24v from the thermostat connects to the unit. This made total sense once he explained to me how it works...and it also explained why I've had issues with both the heating and AC. He even took video of the system and showed me what was going wrong. I'm not sure why the other AC companies couldn't figure this out, but Drew was able to source the part and replace it the same day. My system works great now. I will be using Tru Comfort Heating and Cooling for all of my HVAC needs moving forward. read more

I just had my A/C replaced by Tru Comfort. They were very courteous and truly professional. They worked quickly, clean and efficient. They were also able to make a modification to my inefficient duct work, creating better air flow . Everything went exactly as they planned during the initial review/estimate. I don't think anyone likes having to replace their A/C, but if you must, I would highly recommend them. I've done my research before hand, and there is good reason that they are ranked 5 stars. Drew and crew at Tru Comfort are flat out awesome. We called him out for another project late last year and really liked him as a person. He was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly, to me at least, was very responsive. We built a new house in Wells 12 years ago and the AC never really worked right. Didn't blow out forcefully, the upstairs zone and downstairs zone never balanced ...and seemed like only one or the other was working at one time ...and only blowing out a little. Took hours to cool the house and get to temperature ...if it did at all. We suffered through this for 11 Summers, having the installer back about five times. He recharged the freon 2 years in a row... and tried to fix several times it at significant cost, but never got it working correctly. Then last Summer when it failed again...he threw his arms up and said we had a leek. He told us we had to replace the whole system from the inside out at over $7,000. I tried to be loyal... but I needed a second opinion ...so reached out to Jeremy and Tru Comfort. He was responsive, courteous, arrived on time, ran his tests...ordered a part and then his guy came back, installed the part and totally resolved the issue at a fraction of what our original installer wanted to charge. The AC now blows out strong, like it should have from the beginning. It has been a year now and our AC has never worked so well, especially during those hot and humid patches we had this Summer...and our home has never been so comfortable. Sorry it took so long to write this review ...but we are very happy with Tru Comfort and would highly recommend them to anyone for HVAC. We will be having them come by to service our forced hot air heating system soon to get ready for the Fall and Winter months. These guys are the best! We have been working with them for several years. They consistently provide honest, high quality service at a fair price. Recently I returned home after getting out of the heat for a week. When I got in the house the thermostat read 92 degrees... it was set for 88 degrees. Oh no! It was late on a Saturday afternoon. I thought we were cooked. My wife called Tru Comfort. The technician (Drew) was at my home in less than 90 minutes. Within an hour I had my AC back!!! Here's the incredible part... Drew diagnosed the problem as being an internal wire that shorted out due to age and vibration (the unit is 12-13 years old). When he showed it to me I could barely see the wear in the wire without my glasses. A cut and a splice was all that was needed. For sure a simple solution, but one that I'm amazed that he was able to correctly diagnose. What a pro! You start to notice something is wrong fast when you realize it's 82 degrees in the house. I called TruComfort and was so lucky! Brad and Drew were able to come out within 2 hours after I called.
