I can't believe it's taken nearly 3 years to write a review, but it shows how happy we still are with our new HVAC system. We were in a rush with our house renovations since we were expecting our baby girl. I recall Phillip giving us such detail on our house and central air system, and what to expect. He even configured a system to help with better ventilation. Boldt wasn't the cheapest quote, but the quality of service was well worth every penny. Late last night our outdoor ac unit starting making a high pitched buzzing noise and the fan was no longer working. With the high temperature being 105° the next day I knew this was not a good situation. I started reaching out for quotes on Yelp right away. I followed up with a phone call at 7am and spoke with Fran. She was so nice and so helpful. A few quick questions and she was able to schedule a technician to come out in a couple of hours. Note: many of the other companies I reached out to still haven't responded to my yelp requests or phone calls. So the fact I had someone who not only responded, but was able to help on such short notice and was so pleasant to talk to was...amazing. Phillip (the technician and owner) was here at 11am on the dot. He worked with my husband and was able to get the issue resolved quickly and easily. He advised for some additional items for my husband to keep an eye on, saying we'd want to replace them in the future, but weren't critical for getting the ac functional today. Wow ! We called on Monday , they came out on Tuesday and gave us a quote that beat everyone else out of the water. We signed that day. It' is now Friday ( the same week) at 1:00 pm and my new air-conditioning unit is on the house and has been cooling it house for 3 hours. Now that is getting the job done ! 2 reviews in 1! I made the mistake of forgetting to write this yelp review after my 1st experience with Boldt... Review 1: In 2020 my AC went out in the middle of June, temperatures were climbing and the following days only seemed to be getting hotter. I wont mention the name of the 1st company I used, but its HARD TO SPELL ;) and the technician who came out attempted to tell me that the fan motor was broken and to replace it would be $1000+ just for that repair and then even after that the unit might not even work. He recommended a complete unit replacement and quoted that job at $12,000+!!!! This left a bad feeling in my mouth as that was not in my budget. My wife went to Yelp to get a second opinion and she landed on Boldt. I made the call (late in the evening 8pm+) I got a response 1st thing in the morning I wanna say around 630 AM and Phillip came out that very same morning. Phillip confirmed the previous techs broken motor evaluation but said I definitely did not need a whole new unit. He quoted me a $500ish repair for the motor so I went to get the green light from my wife, by the time I got back outside just a few minutes later Phillip already had the motor out and grabbed a replacement from his truck, he didn't skip a beat! Within 20 or 30 minutes my unit was up and running and dumping cold air into the house. After the repair he checked the whole system, even telling me how much coolant I had left and when he thinks the unit will need to be replaced as that coolant isn't being used or made anymore. Even then for a unit replacement his quote for the tip top of the line unit was around $8000 and $5000 on the lower end. Compared to the competition that is an insane savings and I cant help but think I was being cheated! 100% I will be using Boldt for every HVAC needs I have in the future, I almost don't even want to move out of their service area!! Review 2 Fast forward to the present, another convenient June AC failure. My AC died late one day and again I contacted Boldt late in the evening only to get a call back at 830pm the same day from Fran! I explained what happened and she said she would have someone out the very next morning at 730AM, great response time on the phone and in person. Mike showed up a few minutes early, which is ALWAYS good, and he went straight to work. Upon opening my unit the 1st thing he said was "Oh!, I can fix that right now" and that was music to my ears. The wiring in my unit shorted and fried and he promptly replaced all the wires and then finished by checking the rest of the unit. He gave me a report and updated on the coolant as Phillip did the year prior. Mike was prompt, efficient, and professional. You really can't ask for more from a technician or the company. If you have ANY HVAC needs... Please do yourself a favor and call Boldt! You will not regret it. A big name supply company recommended and conveniently processed my appointment for another HVAC service to come troubleshoot an issue with my AC unit. I thought great that was easy ? Until I went home and began reading reviews about the referral. I immediately began to realize I was uncomfortable for taking this course of action and need to do my own homework. I saw reviews on line and from different sites about Boldt and decided to go with them and cancel my other appointment with a Melvin. Juan (Service Technician) arrived on time and I even received a prior heads up from the office regarding his ETA. Good business practice to start. I explained to Juan the concerns I had. He did some testing and told me what was needed and recommended. No pressured pitch or selling of additional services or things I knew wasn't needed. These guys are AMAZING! My mom's AC started to go out yesterday. She is 82 years old and lives by herself. AC was running all day but could not cool below 85'ish. I needed to find her an AC company quick. Had my mom call BOLDT HVAC based solely on their YELP reviews. I thought they would tell my mom "sure, we'll be out there tomorrow", seeing how it is summer and she is calling late in the day. NOPE! They said we'll be there in 1.5 hours....at 5:30pm and THEY WERE! My mom got concerned and asked if they're going charge her after hours emergency fee charge. BOLDT said said no, but we'll be there. They got her fixed up, only charged a $65 trip charge and had the old type refrigerant on hand..for her old type AC. My mom felt safe, they were there quick, serviced the AC quickly and got out quick. What more could you ask for. I have their number saved in my phone now....so does my mom! read more

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Boldt HVAC & Repair - a very pleasant gentleman - who responded to.my request for service. He checked my central air system on the roof before coming into the house, installed the filter and adjusted the thermostat, then returned to roof to ensure that the system was working. And, voila! While the house cooled, we engaged in an interesting conversation. After it was clear that all systems were functioning, surprisingly, the owner did not charge me anything - said that while the system is probably only a few years old, he could not guarantee what could happen next since he had never serviced it before. A fair assessment and I appreciated his candor. I neglected to mention that he took the time to don his protective booties to ensure that my floors would not get scratched. This simple act spoke volumes to me. Moreover, in initially making the appointment, hus wife was the sweetest person to deal with. AC was having a hard time keeping up with the temperature the thermostat was set at. On our aging unit I thought this was heading toward the dreaded replacement zone. I'm glad I called Boldt as Phillip was able to head out to my place within an hour or so saving our day from melting in our home! I could tell he was experienced in the field as he took a guess at what was wrong based on my description even before getting on the roof. About 5 minutes later he confirmed his suspicion. A quick fan motor replacement and as a bonus he had time to install an Ecobee thermostat I ordered, but needed help with. I'm a couple weeks behind writing this, but naturally my AC had gone out in the hottest part of Summer. I had trouble with other HVAC companies, and I finally got in touch with Boldt, told them my troubles and said they'd send their best tech. I thought, hell yeah, I'm getting star treatment. Phillip came in and within 30 mins he had the issue figured out. Always check the easy stuff first. Phillip is great because he teaches you about your system (if you want to learn). My A/C was having an issue that would only happen intermittently. I knew it was something that needed to be fixed but I was concerned that when I'd have someone come look at it that it would run fine and that they would just want me to pay them to replace a bunch of parts. However, Phillip Boldt showed up at my place and I explained the issues the A/C would sometimes have. He said that he didn't want me to spend money on replacing parts when he could not find the issue because it was operating properly at the time. He decided the clean and lubricate a few things and start from there. As he was leaving the A/C started having the problem again. Excellent service! Called in a panic first thing this am after awaking up at 2:00 am drenched in perspiration. Decided to check my thermostat and noticed the temp was 77 even though it was set at 70 for beautiful night-time slumber. Checked my circuit breakers, reset and actually checked my huge a/c unit and noticed the fan was at a standstill. Watched a movie...2:30am...fell back to sleep ...and woke up to research Yelp for immediate repairs. First 2 calls were quite close in proximity but could not provide service today. Once in a while the stars line up and you luck out... Knowing zero about a/c repair and the costs, it was so helpful to be able to read the Yelp reviews from Boldt customers. A lifesaver. After a day and night of my a/c not cooling below 84 degrees, and trying everything I could think of to not call a repair person (new filter, new batteries, checking breakers) I decided it was time to get some help so I logged on to Yelp and decided on Boldt due to the great reviews. First stop, Fran, who took my information and made arrangments for Phillip to head over to take a look. Within an hour Phillip pulled up and after a brief introduction, got to work. He'd intermittently stop and explain what he found with his step-by-step inspection. The coils were frozen and Phillip found the reason for this and fixed it, but first, he explained what the problem was and how much the product he needed to use would cost. Within 45 minutes of Phillip's arrival, cool air was flowing out of my vents again. Phillip took some time to explain that I was using the wrong filter and suggested a few other maintence items I needed to take care of down the road. Never did he upsell or try to get me on a service plan. This is a good guy who I honestly think is just as interested in doing a good job and treating his customers with respect as making a buck.
