We popped in for a chai tea and a pastry. The chai tasted like a cold coffee and when we took it back they assured us it was chai. They doctored it with sugar but it still ended up poured out on the road. The cinnamon rill was not much better it was dry and tasteless. It was very crowded and nice inside with a long wait. Not sure if we hit them on a bad day, if they don't make chai very often or what but we would not recommend. It was a nice atmosphete with nice seating options with a trendy crowd. Fairly quick service for the number of people ordering and waiting.

Cute place - the food was good but very pricey (saw the owner's comments about price on another comment as well, which sours my thought of this place). We ordered lattes, which were decent but there's no reason for that cost when using torani coffee syrup and not your own. Staff were friendly and helpful and orders came out quickly.

Before heading out to Yellowstone on a chilly October morning, with temperatures dipping into the 30s, I stopped by Tru North Coffee in downtown Livingston for a piping hot cup of comfort. The short, brisk walk there reminded me of everything Texas doesn't have this time of year--crisp air, golden leaves, and that unmistakable feeling of fall. Stepping inside Tru North felt like walking into a warm hug. The cozy space, crackling fireplace, and inviting sofas created the kind of atmosphere where neighbors linger over steaming mugs and easy conversation. It had that genuine small-town charm that makes you want to stay awhile. The barista greeted me with a smile and handed me a large dark roast to go--rich, smooth, and subtly laced with chocolate and allspice. It was the perfect cup to start what turned out to be a perfect Montana morning.

Based on the owner's response to my 3-star rating 2 mos ago, am updating to one star. Our experience wasn't great- but it wasn't horrid, hence 3. My explanation was thorough but he is quite the whine-bag, actually just mean, so here's my new rating based on the entire experience. I'm in Livingston right now with friends and was going to give it another go with them...supporting a local business...but as we were heading to park, I opened my Yelp with the intention of giving TruNorth another chance- then saw his crappy response (and trolling)...

A Great, no nonsense, breakfast cafe. A short menu that gets to the point with fantastic food of the best quality. Service is pleasant and to the point, the restaurant itself is an eclectic collection of vintage decor that works to make it homey. Order at the counter and grab a table. Signs define their policy and make expectations clear for customers that is sarcastically refreshing and funny. All worth the wait for an excellent meal. Street parking may be tight and require A few laps so be patient!

We absolutely loved our stop at Tru North Café! From the moment we walked in, the vibes were immaculate + welcoming. James, the owner, is genuinely warm and kind, and you can feel how much heart and intention went into creating this space. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious + it truly felt like eating a home-cooked meal at a friend's house. Cozy, comforting + thoughtful in all the right ways. The espresso deserves a special shoutout. It was so flavorful that my wife went back for a second cup! We also really appreciated the variety of seating options, which made the space feel accessible and inviting for everyone. This place radiates care, community + good energy. If you're in Livingston, Tru North is an absolute must!

Cute cafe in the town of livingston.. a lot of places were closed because it's Sunday so we just grabbed coffee to go because there were no seats. Service was good. Place was crowded.

We traveled back in late October to visit Yellowstone national park and stayed in Livingston. I must say our highlight for this trip was tru north cafe. Their food was beyond amazing -we ended up having breakfast there daily during our trip. Service was also amazing. It felt so welcoming to be there while enjoying their mouth watering breakfast. We can't wait to go back!

Love the Ambiance! Feels like you're having breakfast at a friend's house with a little hint of Livingston all around. Looks like most of the art work is local, which I love AND what they can't make they buy local from Bakery's around them! Awesome! Food and coffee was wonderful. Unfortunately I ordered the special, which is my absolute favorite, "the Benny", (Eggs Benedict) but the cook who makes the special wasn't in so they couldn't make it. This was the only thing that kept me from a five star! Two things: Please don't advertise this special on the chalk board if you know the cooks not there and two: please give me my money back for "the Benny" and recharge me for the lox and bagel I ordered in its place. Don't tell me that they are about the same so no worry. So, service was a four, the place is more like a five. Clean and very organized. I may go back for "the Benny" someday-hope my cook is there!

Yeah you probably shouldn't miss this place. Friendly people, calm atmosphere, great food. 'Nuff said. I will stop here on my way through every time.

Breakfast burrito and eggs Benedict

One of my favorite breakfast spots during my trip to Livingston, Montana. I had the breakfast burrito which included cheese, hash browns, sausage and egg. It was paired with a tomato pico de gallo and sour cream. The tortilla had a perfect crunch to it which I loved - I don't like when my tortilla is soggy. My friend had eggs benedict and she really liked the hollandaise sauce. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They directed us to go up to the counter to order our food as soon as we walked in and brought our food over as soon as it was ready. The chef even made it a point to come over to our table to ask how we liked our meals. The restaurant was very cozy, clean and beautifully decorated.

Back in Livingston, Montana and thoroughly enjoying this beautiful and friendly mountain town. The…read moresmall shop owners are kind, helpful and ready to start a conversation at the drop of a hat. SO REFRESHING! On the main drag is an institutional bar and local staple, Gil's Goods. Worn hardwood floors that creak as you walk, unique signs and hightops to sit at while watching the World Cup, Gil's is straight off a movie set. The place is built for country fun and the local watering hole. Now the shocker, bar type food that can be slightly healthier and very flavorful, lives here. We ordered the watermelon mint salad with cucumber, watermelon cubes, mint, feta, onions and a reduced balsalmic vinegarette. The freshness of the watermelon with the punch of mint and balsalmic bite was perfect for a summer day. A Truly great choice! The crispy Korean chicken sandwich was enormous with Asian pickle, slaw, Korean BBQ and Gil's aioli was scrumptious. The fried sweet potato fries were less health, but sinfully good. It was a bit messy, but I could not stop eating, a two napkins meal. Gil's Goods is not a typical bar, but the food is packed with great flavor and savory selections that make you smile. A very nice meal and must return to in the future. Please put Gil's Goods on your next must try in Livingston, Montana. To the staff at Gil's Goods, awesome meal, fun atmosphere and please don't change.

As my husband and I planned an anniversary trip to Yellowstone National Park, we knew from rigorous…read moreplanning that Campione would be the last exquisite supper before glamping and touristy meals in West Yellowstone. Since we couldn't guarantee our flight into BZN would arrive on time and we'd make it to a reservation, we called in advanced and were told that seats *could* be available at the bar. Recommendation: BOOK your reservation in advance and DO all that you can to make it. We arrived and were on the waitlist til a reservation holder called to cancel. We won a culinary lottery that evening -- and saw a rainbow during our after dinner stroll. The menu is Roman and a diamond in the rough. Don't confuse this cuisine with Italian. Before this trip, we eagerly anticipated the freshly caught trout. My husband was thankful for his Campione experience before ordering it from other restaurants on our trip. The pan-seared fish was richly paired with capers and parsley, funghi, leeks, and pickled fennel greens. (I almost ordered it but like a good Roman soldier, I divided to conquer the menu.) The manicotti was far from conventional. The flavorful, delicate oxtail and broth were unlike any heavy tomato-based sauce. This was simply stellar, and an ideal way to warm my belly on a rainy day. While Campione does not readily serve a chef tasting menu, each dish fully engages the senses. Rarely do I take photos when dining out; this dinner was an exception. Plating is colorful and the layers are visually engaging... but delay the gratification of the first bite especially if you order the smoked cauliflower: waft first. Hospitality by the hosts and server were top-notch, complementing the caliber of the food and living up to the motto embedded in the tiled entry: in the service of others.

Very friendly staff they enhanced the atmosphere. Made our long day tired faces fill with joy…read more It was little extra salt for us but the service was so nice we didn't care.
