Solid. Bacon was really good except one of the three pieces was so overdone it crumbled. Some people prefer that though. I didn't need a third piece anyway. Biscuit was soft on the inside, dense but not heavy and not dry. Potatoes have a fair amount of minced garlic. I am a fan (some people aren't). Potatoes were DRY. But. Ate them all so I'm not actually complaining too loudly here Husband had the tomcat. He finished it. So that's the extend of that review Staff is nice. read more

I don't know if this place is a gimmick or great but EVERYTIME we tried to eat there there was a line down the stairs and out into the street. I can only imagine it is fantastic. Clearly a place the locals LOVE for brunch. Maybe the next time I see my son and his wife in Bozeman we will be able to get inside to try the food. Cateye cafe is a charming breakfast spot in downtown Bozeman with amazing food! It's very cozy with lots of fun cat decorations inside. The waitlist system is old school- sign up on a piece of paper and wait to be called. I had the vegetable scramble and it was amazing! The potato's were perfect as were all of the vegetables and eggs. It also comes with whole grain toast. I tried a pancake because I've heard they have amazing pancakes but it was a little too sweet, even for someone who loves sweets. Overall it's a great place for breakfast and I'd highly recommend it. read more

Hubby had the banana bread French toast which came with home fries and bacon. It was delicious. I had biscuits and gravy - also delicious. Not as good as South Carolina gravy (a spice I couldn't identify) but still excellent. SERVICE was seriously the best. This place is so unique and lovely! I'm from Scottsdale, AZ and go out of my way to explore new restaurants wherever I go. I also go out of my way to find the best biscuits and gravy (b's and g's)-- and that's exactly what I found here. Get The Witch-- you won't regret it. The huckleberry mimosa was also a win, and on top of it, their pancakes (a house made secret recipe) were possibly the best I've ever had. The owners are so welcoming and fun, and our kids loved their "kitty pancakes" and decked out chocolate milk concoctions. Will come every time we're in Bozeman! read more

Ordered one pancake with two eggs sunny side up on top. The pancake was undercooked, mushy. The coffee, which for me is the litmus test, couldn't have tasted worse: one sip and I stopped. The music was blaring rock n' roll at 7 am from a speaker in the kitchen, open to the rest of the room. Our waitress was sullen and seemed to want to be anywhere but there. In all honesty this place used to be amazing but coming back 2 years later this won't be my go to breakfast spot when visiting anymore. The chicken fried steak was pretty bad, tasted like a dry hamburger. It was sad because I really raves about this place. At least the banana bread French toast was delicious . The server we had snatched up menus from our table and cut my 10 month old babies eye and he now has a scratch going up his eye. Another fun little place in Bozeman! Shout out to our wonderful waitress, Sugar! She had so much energy and truly wanted to help us map out a day of hiking and exploring the area. The food was good. Been coming here for years and haven't had anything bad to say except the most recent time. The food took a while to come out which was fine but as soon as the bill was paid, the server pretty much told us we had to leave because there was a long line waiting. We arrived around 8am ish on Sunday morning and there was a line - sign up on the clipboard at the top of the steps. We waited for about 10-15 min and were seated. I believe the drink I got was the Ghetto Mocha - it's on the sweeter side but a lovely morning "treat" drink. Love me some prosciutto so naturally, I ordered The Felix. The roasted red pepper aioli was my favorite part, it took the sandwich to the next level. The sandwich is a little greasy but finger-licking good, and the torta roll was very soft. The Catastrophe is great as well! An enhanced version of a regular eggs, bacon, and toast breakfast. Service is great, reminds me of a nice family restaurant. Finally stopped in at Cateye Cafe! At 9:30 on a Monday we were seated immediately. The staff was awesome and so patient with us taking forever to order. I had the pineapple mimosa in a mug- delish! We started with the gingerbread, which was to die for, and for my breakfast I went with the fishbowl. Salmon, eggs, spinach, and tomatoes cooked to perfection. The in house hot sauce was quite good too! I will definitely be back to try lunch, and Cateye is my new go to breakfast spot! 10/10 would recommend! Oh and I ordered Togo for the hubby. Wow.. my wife and I weren't expecting the food to be sooo over the top. We had the The Witch, John's Ox and 1/2 order of the Banana Bread French Toast. Their gravy came with both dishes, that was fantastic sausage gravy! The eggs were done beautifully, light and fluffy. The BBFT is unique and I will definitely try to make this at home ( I hope I come close). Oh my.. what a cute surprise once you walk through the door. It looks so tiny from the street but opens up all the way back. It's definitely a cat theme here and very very charming. The kitchen is open to the dining via off center square windows. They have regular tables, bench style, booths and some high tops with swivel chairs. I love that they swivel!! I loved this place! It's so cute and cozy inside (the exposed brick plus warm lighting was just perfect). The food was DELICIOUS. I got the Alley Cat sandwich for breakfast and it was SO tasty.
