Full disclosure: they make 2 of my favourite beers.: Dan Bailey's Red and Pine Creek Pale. The staff is incredible. They helped me plot some cool trails and lookouts while I was in town. The vibe of the place reminds me of a boathouse on some river out east. It's very cool and is bigger than it looks. read more

For the Brewery I would give 3.5 stars. Good beers with fun names and cool atmosphere. Unfortunately for the restaurant I would give 1 star. Outdoors there's plenty of seating and welcoming to dogs. The interior is very eclectic. There's also some games by the women's bathroom along with a treaure chest with toys for kids. We ordered the Salmon Cakes Special as an appetizer that came out quickly. It came with 2 cakes and aoili. It was good, lots of salmon and not just filler. It would've been nice if it came on a bed of arugula or something. The entrees took considerably longer to come out. And during that time I looked around and noticed some things.. the windows were open allowing a nice breeze and lots of bugs to come in. The bugs were very off putting.. there were open containers like a pitcher with sugar for the sushi rice that they were flying in and out of. I lost my appetite but we were driving through town and the other members of our party were starving and really excited to try the place. They we're also seated in a way that they hadn't seen the bugs. 2 people within our party shared the Neptune's Ocean Feast and enjoyed it. They said the breading was crispy without being too heavy. But the fries weren't the best. The Scallop-Collada lists tempura fried jalapeños as an ingredient but they were not battered, warm, or anything. It was just slivers of the neon green jalapeños. The restaurant is moving locations in the future to expand. They plan on serving wine and sake. The current location will just be used for the brewery. I really wanted to like the place because it was cute and had come so highly recommended. I would probably just visit for the beer and avoid any food in the future. read more

This is the listing for the brewery, not the brewery and eatery - that has a separate listing. SO! This review is for just the brewery. Cute little spot, mediocre mask compliance, decent suds. Not much indoor seating, but it truly feels like a microbrewery without all the huge capital investments some of the crazy big places. That makes it feel worn (in a good way), comfortable, blue collar, homey - it was enjoyable. Tried a couple different suds and nothing wowed me, but that's more on me than anything else. Any time back in Livingston I wouldn't hesitate to stop again. It feels like a locals joint, and I like that. Plenty of stuff on the menu, can get full pours and partial pours and growlers and all of that. Please remember that 3 stars isn't bad. This place is solid without being crazy excellent. You should go here. It's worth a visit. read more

Setup base camp in Livingston for some epic motorbike riding over Beartooth Pass and the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway. Stumbled across the Neptune Brewery within walking distance of our hotel. Neptune has a wide variety of their beers and none of the beers we tasted disappointed - the IPA and Session Ales were well balanced and refreshing. Indoor seating is currently not available due to COVID restrictions but outdoor seating and orders to go are available. read more

Such a cute spot in Livingston! Very eclectic and fun decor. My cousin had a tempura tuna, cream cheese sushi roll-the bite I tried was super tasty. Her seaweed salad was also very good. I had the bomber burger. Burger stuffed with blue cheese-topped with bacon and mushrooms. I probably won't order again. They seem to add a lot to their hamburger meat-meatloafesque maybe? They also have to cook well done due to filling. So not my preference. Fries and onion rings were super delicious! Will definitely get onion rings again. I look forward to trying this place again next time I'm in town. The menu had a lot of options-Can't wait to try something else. Service was extremely friendly and the place was very lovely on a Saturday night with love music included. read more

Very fun little spot in Livingston. We arrived about 3:30p and we're coming especially for their sushi and were informed it doesn't start till 5p. We ordered beers and appetizers and decided to wait till 5. I really enjoyed their Scottish. It was an easy to drink beer. I sampled the Dark Ale which was described as a Black IPA. I dig Black IPAs so was stoked--however it wasn't really a BIPA it was more of an IPA that was darker. If you know what BIPAs taste like you'd understand. I also really enjoyed the She May Not which was an excellent play on words of Chimay's Belgian beer. This beer was 11% and not to be messed around with. We had the traditional Mac and Cheese and it was really tasty. Great bread crumbs, a nice side of garlic Texas toast. Our friends got fish tacos which looked great and clam strips which were fried goodness. 5p rolled around and we had decided like an hour before what we wanted off the sushi side of the menu. I asked what was fresh that day--we are inland--and the waitress brought us a one page printed off the printer in the back paper of the only things they had and said they had a busy couple of days and only were featuring these select items. What?! We've been sitting here for 1 1/2 hours wasting time for sushi and there's only 6 things to choose from?! Mind blowing. Its a Monday! It's not like we didn't make it super clear that we were totally camping out for sushi!! The only things to order were tempura shrimp, tempura soft shell crab, salmon and Walu nigiri/sashimi (which is escolar or snake mackerel). So...we ordered what we could. Okay, so yes I just complained about the misunderstanding but....it was very tasty and I was very happy to be eating this sushi in the middle of Paradise Valley. The fish was cut correctly, which if you know how good sushi tastes you understand this is where to hang your hat. The sauce was perfect, not overdone. Tasted fresh and was big sized pieces, not fishy at all. Would love to try the other rolls and maybe the solution would be to call ahead and ask if you're coming specifically for sushi. Our friends got a dessert and the dessert menu looked great--would have tried the Key Lime Pie or the Sticky Toffee Cake. Maybe next time. We finished up and went on our way. We will return when we're thru here again. We live about 2 hours away so that shouldn't be long. read more

I have come to love the taproom, but the restaurant is always packed and will only be worse when the tourists get here. The food at the restaurant is delicious, highly recommend the burger and fish and chips. The sushi looks good, just not my thing. read more

This brewery has quickly run its way to being in my Top 5 breweries, EVER! And I'm from Denver and have been to many, many breweries nationwide. On a quick weekend trip from Billings to Bozeman, we stopped in Livingston on our way to Bozeman and had a couple beers here. I'm OBSESSED with their Latte Stout- absolutely craveable. I also tried their River Nymph which was a tasty pilsner type. And hubby really enjoyed their IPA. We also had a couple tasty apps. The very next day going home to Billings we decided to stop here again, this time for lunch as their menu looked really good and I really, really wanted more of their latte stout. Now, we ended up waiting a REALLY long time for our food, but considering our waitress was as pissed as we were, I'm guessing it's not normal. But the food was great. And definitely worth stopping for lunch again. I can't wait until they get their sushi chef back running full time, only M-Th right now as he trains new staff, so call to check the availability of sushi. I can't wait to try it!! The service was exceptional both visits, and the waitress handled the long wait for our food in all the right ways. The space is really small, but I heard they're expanding, so that's super exciting. My husband travels to Bozeman frequently for work, and is now under strict orders to bring me a latte stout every time he drives through. I just wish they had better t-shirts- their mermaid ones are super cute but don't even have the name of the brewery on them, and the ones with the giant Neptune face is too ugly to be displayed across my chest. I am looking forward to my next opportunity to visit Neptune's!! read more

This was amazing beer and sushi! I was a little unsure about eating sushi at a brewery but it was probably one of the best rolls I've had in a while! My husband got the chefs choice and that was also great. We stop in breweries all over and this was an awesome IPA! Our bartender was also super friendly and we had great service. The beer is very good and very reasonably priced! It's nice that you can order one and sit inside on the couches or on the patio outside as well! Great wide selection and you can get pints, half pints, growlers, or even just samples if you want! They also have a rewards program and participate in the brewery passport. It is a bit off the beaten path and the restaurant has moved. I would go back again for sure though, just wish it was in a better location, which is hard to knock them for. read more

Talk about a sweet surprise! Driving from Billings and needed a break. Seemed odd to have seafood and beer in a landlocked state but the sushi was good and the beer was great and the staff was super sweet. (We wish we were hungrier, but it was just after Thanksgiving). The place is obviously themed, but there were all these little positivity notes hidden, and did I mention the wait-staff was super nice? We got there just before dinner rush & sat at the bar. For a minute, I wished we lived in Livingston... --- ((Only weirdness: whoever came in to help with dinner rush, looked like an owner sort who didn't dress like everyone else, was not comfortable behind a bar and made me super nervous for some reason. Reviewing because there's no entry for the Latté Stout on BeerAdvocate... The Latté Stout (seasonal as of now) was excellent ... a creamy mouthfeel with an exquisite balance of coffee and chocolate notes (the coffee isn't nearly as assertive as other coffee beers I've had, and this beer was better for it). The Double IPA was also very solid. The bartender said it was well over 100 IBUs (!), but I have to question that assessment. Maybe that's because I'm a "hophead", but I thought it was a well-balanced beer with some light, hoppy citrus notes -- particularly tartness of grapefruit -- and underlying malty sweetness. Go for the great beer, go for the service (the bartenders are incredibly friendly), and go to witness the majesty of Phred, quite possibly Livingston's most famous puffer fish. read more

This place was awesome! We're currently on a four month road trip from the central coast of California. We stopped in here for lunch after hearing they have good sushi. It seriously rivaled the sushi in our hometown of Santa Barbara. The beer was very reasonably priced, and a growler fill ranges from $9-11. Definitely check it out! Sitting at the sushi bar.. Andrew and Sanford are taking care of us. The food is beyond amazing.. the staff is so welcoming. The interior is beautiful. We feel like we're on vacation at the beach but we're close to home. Lauren, the owner, is amazing!! If you need a getaway this is the place to go.. scallops..polenta with shrimp and sausage. Pretty good food but only so so service. They had live music and that's all well and good but we couldn't hear each other. The waitress couldn't hear us either and brought my boyfriend an amber ale when he ordered a root beer. She took our plates without asking if we were finished, I had to yell just to order a beer. The burger, brats, and chicken fingers were good. I liked the latte stout I ordered, and my cousin enjoyed the beers in her flight. I don't recommend the broccoli slaw which I subbed for fries (an extra $2) it was bland. read more

Great little spot! The beer was delish! The ambiance was fun and quirky. Sat at the bar - service was a little slow (they were packed) hence the 4 over 5 star. If I'm ever back in Livingston I'd definitely head back to the place! The miso soup was super hearty, shared a seaweed salad and a few rolls with my friend. They were all great and super filling. Unfortunately I have had a few bad experiences the last few times I've visited. The service has been very poor. From having the wrong food delivered to being ignored after sitting down. The staff and brewer were very friendly. We were heading to Yellowstone and they gave us a lot of recommendations. They had a great session beer as well as flavorful beers with interesting flavor profiles.They also have a great mead made from alfalfa honey. Their coconut shrimp is delicious, I didn't think it needed the cocktail sauce. We also had the burger with cheddar mixed in with the patty, wrapped in bacon. I came here to visit family in Livingston and heard this was the place to come have a couple of drinks and eat. This place is awesome!! Great and lovely staff! We ordered about 4 sushi rolls, some appetizers and fish and chips. Everything was surprisingly very good! The sushi was fresh and fish and chips was perfectly battered. The decor of the place was very neat and amusing. I would recommend everyone to come here and experience Neptune and have a couple of their in-house brewed beer!
