Received a letter stating IMMEDIATE RESPONSE was required that their records show my factory warranty has expired. Don't be fooled this is not a notice from your manufacturer, instead its just a REALLY SNEAKY and deceptive strategy. They render their letter to look official like if it was from the dealership or an actual manufacturer. Then NOWHERE does their company name come out. I chatted live with "TIM" from the True Auto protection website and he could not name the car the offer was for even after giving him the customer account code they had for me in their letter. He said "it wasn't loaded correctly into their database". When i asked why their company name did not appear anywhere on the letter he said it did. There is a line at the bottom that says email: sales@trueautoprotection.com which he said is where the company name appeared. Nowhere else is there a hint otherwise about where this letter is coming from. On the envelope I received, the sender's address section does not have the company name or logo either. It just says WARRANTY SERVICES. At the end of the chat i asked him so basically this is an OFFER which to he said yes. They deliberately went out of their way to pass themselves as if it were a legal notice from your your dealer or from you manufacturer. By using this deceptive strategy i would not trust them as a company. read more

Side Note; I was recently in an accident and the original Honda that this review is on was totaled and has been for 3 months now, they STILL try to reach out and make me register my vehicle through them. I keep getting scam letters from True Auto insurance services. I signed a lease on a vehicle a few months ago and they must have access to that database of new auto transactions. If you got a letter in the mail throw it away because it is an attempt to sell you something. They make the letter sound important and even give you a time frame in which to call but everything is just a big attempt at getting you to buy some bullshit insurance. Got similar spam/scam letter from them urgently asking me to get extended service contract activated for my vehicle.

As a new car owner, I was under the impression I had to activate my warranty after receiving a letter from this company. I did so, gave my card number, and agreed to the monthly payments and Roy who helped me was very nice. BUT. After being told I did NOT need to do this, I canceled because money is very tight right now. Marc was nothing but rude and disrespectful. He interrupted me while trying to explain, was raising his voice and intimidating me, claimed I wasted everyones time, and that I'm going to deeply regret this decision by canceling. I had to threaten to cancle my card because he was eagerly trying to get me to change my mind. This whole things was completely unprofessional and not only did I contact the BBB, I got no apology for how I was treated, as whoever replied to my complaint was sticking up for the man who gave to worst customer service I ever experienced. ZERO STARS IF I COULD! This place HAS to be a freaking scam! I just got a new car and my name is half on the lease with my dad. Me being young i thought shoot i got his important letter , I'll act on it . I call the guy gives me this whole spiel about how i need these and mine insurance is expired(or about to) and NEED THIS NOW . Told me if i don't want it , i can cancel it and everything be fine. I did it , whatever . Talked my dad he said no we don't need that cancel that. I called yesterday and told the man hey i need to cancel this now i don't need. He RUDLY responds with "WHY WOULD YOU SIGN UP IF YOU DONT IT ??! I just don't understand ! Gosh. That's stupid. Let me transfer you." Sitting on the phone again for another 2 mins waiting , he says "oh they are all on lunch call back in 2 hrs." Like really??? That's ridiculous ! Today i call again and they transfer me and the customer service man Colby , was SO rude . Arguing with me why i need this, why would i cancel it, i yelled and argued back about i wanted it canceled and he yelled back about how i wouldn't answer his question . Do i hung up . Long story short we finally got it canceled . OH and BY THE WAY , they kept calling me the wrong name and didn't have the right address at first so now that I've calmed down about the situation I'm sitting here thinking to my self how this was ALL bullshit , lies and a SCAM. Scam. I even call my dealer saying if I may still have warranty on my car since I just got it last year. So of course my car still has warranty, but out of curiosity I asked if they sent out a letter to me regarding my warranty, they said no. And that they are not affiliated with any other company to not worry about that letter. If I were to receive a letter regarding any issues it will be straight from my dealership. Unfortunately my 87 year old mom fell for the urgent notice that she needed auto warranty protection from this company. After the initial $299 hit her credit card (that same day she originally called them) she called back and tried to cancel the policy. The very slick representative (her words) left her in doubt as to whether she had been able to cancel the policy or not. I called myself and was treated so rudely (you are not a customer, your mother is) I have decided I will deal directly with the credit card company and file a dispute. Got a letter informing me that since I have not contacted them to have a service contract activated that if my factory warranty has expired, I'll be responsible for repairs. After checking with my dealership on my insurance, had ni thing to do with True Auto. My next move is to file a fraud complaint with the Mo. Attorney General. Received a scam letter with "Protection Notice for Vehicle Code: R1T2256841" across the top, said to call 1-877-397-1024 immediately because my vehicle's factory warranty has expired and I could be financially liable for all repairs. This has got to be the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. If I could have given them 0 stars or even negative stars I would. Do not do business with these people. They are only after your money and will not cooperate with you once you have made the down payment. Horrible phone manners. I asked to speak with the representative that sold me the warranty (Justin Tidwell) and was never given that opportunity. I was told he was out taking care of his sick child who has been in the hospital for 5 months ( he aggressively sold me the warranty 3 months ago). They man I spoke with yesterday told me I was being connected to the Vice President and put me on hold for 3 mins just to come back and tell me that Justin would give me a call when he returned to the office later that afternoon ( he never did ). Completely unprofessional and rude. They definitely play the blame game to make everything your fault and try to guilt you into keeping the fraud of coverage they call extended warranty. Colby at extension 7032 made it extremely difficult to cancel the warranty after I asked to do so not only at the beginning of the call but continuously through out the call. They would not provide me with a confirmation number for the cancellation because they "don't do those". When I asked how can I be sure that the policy is cancelled and he gave me the most snide and rude remark. When I made the call early this morning I had no intentions of being rude and having to back and forth with the most unprofessional scam of a business. SAVE YOUR MONEY !
