Needed a nice regular haircut for an interview on the local Air Force Base, discovered this shop was in walking distance of where I live. I just retired, and their senior citizens haircut price was only $17. Headed over in my old F150 4WD and the barber was cool, and he actually cut it exactly how I asked, I only have a little bit left on top, and every other haircutter I have encountered so far since moving back to Albuquerque always cut the almost bald top way longer so they would get a return visit faster. Yeah, right, ignore the customer's request and expect a lot of return traffic. IMHO they should rename themselves the True&Honest Barber Shop. Really nice guys! This place is amazing! I've been going to the same Barber, Guy, for years now. I've had my hair cut by a few of the other guys in the shop, all amazing, but I always try to get in with Guy. He always takes his time, does a great job making you look perfect, cleans up your edges with a straight razor, and always does his best to get you the appointment you need. Just know that this place is by appointment only. If you need to stop in to make an appointment, do so before you need your next cut because people this good get booked up fast! read more

I was a walk in and waited for over an hour. No sign in sheet but was told it would be a long wait but not over an hour. Several people came in after me and got their hair cut. One barber got on his phone and didn't offer his services. I get the hang out vibe but som type of customer service or communication would be appreciated. Needless to say I will not be taking my business here. read more

Best barbershop in town. Don't let the few comments on here deter you, these guys are true professionals. I go to Geno and been going to him since 2010. All the guys in there have major skill, great environment and fairly priced. Lastly, those in the reviews complaining about people skipping them is because most of their customers are booking appointments - they have one guy who does walk ins and he's the first guy at the door and greets you every time asking if you have a appointment or walk in. read more

If your goal is to find a place that will completely ignore you and treat you like you're less than human, then this is the place for you! I so regret not looking at any reviews prior to showing up. I guess it's a little ridiculous to think that you could just show up somewhere and have employees acknowledge you as a customer, treat you with respect, and inform you of whatever process they happen to have. I did wise up a bit after sitting there for about 30 minutes and seeing other customers show up who were acknowledged. After I saw that, I realized that this place was just too good for me and they definitely let me know that my money wasn't needed there. Good for them! I found another place that truly was worth my time! You'd be better off saving yourself some time and gas money and just heading elsewhere. read more

After reading the previous reviews I can tell you that these people who left poor reviews were just angry because they didn't realize that True Barber Shop has been appointment only for as long as it's been open. Recently they hired a walk in barber, but still that place is crazy busy all the time because they have all the best barbers in town working there. True Barber Shop isn't just a place I go to get my haircut. It's a place I go to enjoy the culture as well and talk to my main man Guy Garcia. Sometimes my haircuts will go longer than normal just because we can't stop telling stories and sending ideas back and forth. You could say we get caught up in the moment and for me that's what makes a great experience. It's easy to see that all the fellas working in there have a strong brotherly bond and they enjoy coming to work everyday. This is the kind of place where you text your barber to see when their available and even if they're busy but you really need a fresh cut because you're the best man at a wedding in the evening, they'll come through for you and get to the shop early to make sure that you look you're personal best for those precious moments. Forgot to mention they even have packs of beef jerky for sale in there for when you need a little snack. Try the red chile teriyaki I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

After the hour they told me they were not taking walk ins but I can make an appointment for another day. Sucks I waited an hour before they acknowledge me. To bad could have been my new shop. Great barbers, nice, cool, comfortable and great service. You can make appointments for certain days of the week or walk in's on most.
