On July 1st 2024 I was injured at work a few days later my right hip started bothering me, so I went to my primary doctor. I was sent to physical therapy where I tried exercises and traction it got SO bad i could not walk, i could only stand for a couple minutes. The thing that helped was lying on the floor with my feet up on an exercise ball rolling side to side. I asked for an MRI and it showed that I had problems with my L4-L5 and a herniated disc L5-S1 pinching my sciatic nerve down my right leg, and needed walking sticks. I received an epidural Dec.12th for the pain but it was a temporary solution, my daughter took me to her chiropractor out of town Dr.Travis Howell and was referred to Dr. Matt Hubbard at True Chiropractor. True Chiropractic took x-rays and body scans before they would do ANY adjustments, and found my hips and spine where out of alinement do to the injury and lifelong wear & tear. I was in horrible pain in my sternum and ribs from a fall. I had x-rays from an urgent care that showed I didn't have any breaks. But unfortunately, they didn't show that I had displaced my ribs. I called True Chiropractic for help (which I should have in the first place). they were able to get me in to be seen in a few hours. Dr. Tania very thorough on my history and took x-rays. They didn't just start adjusting me without understanding what help I needed. I knew that the adjustment wasn't going to feel very good, but Dr. Matt was very kind and his adjustment was very effective in putting my ribs back in place. Complete SCAM!! I made an appointment thinking I was going to walk in and get an adjustment. Boy, was I WRONG! They have you fill out like 12 forms before your first appointment. When you walk in for your appointment, they have a sign on the counter welcoming you and everyone is weirdly overly friendly (completely fake as if you walked into a Beverly Hills plastic surgery office). The vibe is very cult-ish. The "free" consultation turns out to be $100 out of pocket because what they don't tell you is that the consultation is free (supposedly) but they also do exams and x-rays which cost you money, yet they don't yell you that. It's all part of the "free" consulation and they don't even give you an option or a heads up that you have to pay for the exams and x-rays. Then they have the audacity to mail you a "free" referral for a friend and in small print it states that exams and x-rays are extra IF necessary. Again, they don't give you an option not to do the exams and x-rays. The exams and x-rays are all part of their sales pitch upon your return visit. They have you make another appointment when you leave to go over the exam/x-ray results and start treatment. As I mentioned, the exams/x-rays are part of their sales pitch upon your return because they go over the results and basically tell you that you're broken and will fall apart if you don't start treatment with them. They use words like "sublaxation" and "degeneration" to scare you into thinking you're going to be crippled if you don't start treatment ASAP. After their scare tactic presentation of your results, they say they are going to adjust you, yet first, you have to talk to the finance department about what route of treatment you want to take. Spoiler alert, they only have one treatment plan that requires you to go In for adjustments 3x/week. Then after 12 appointments, they do exams and x-rays again to reasses your progress. If you have progressed, they bump you down to appointments 2x/week...then eventually 1x/week if you're progressing according to their standards. They say their standard is 40% progress, yet they don't tell you 40% compared to what, so they can dictate if they feel that you're progressing or not. When they whisk you away to the finance office, they corner you in the office with a lady that reminded me of Cruela Deville. She lays out your "treatment plan" will be $4,000....yes, you read that right....$4,000 for 60 treatments! She tries to talk it up like it's unlimited treatments even though you're "only" paying $4,000. There is no other option as far as treatments. I told the lady I just wanted to use my insurance to go once a week and you can't do that. They either want you to lock in a $4,000 contract or nothing at all, which is ridiculous since they never adjusted me after two visits, so I didn't even know if I would like their adjustments or not. I've gotten great adjustments before and I've gotten adjustments where i couldn't walk right for three days. Be cautious of a place that won't adjust you until AFTER you're locked into a $4,000 contract. After I told the finance lady that I'd "think about it," the niceties ended. The cult like behavior tuned into a "Don't let the door hit you on the way out" type of attitude. The front counter attendants didn't even say bye yet when they thought I was going to join, they were high giving and putting on nothing but smiles. Even the doctors go from hyping you up (loud compliments like you're a rock star) to silence. Bottom line, if you're not willing to drop $4,000 on their cult...I mean treatment, you're wasting your time. Just received a statement from my health insurance company. True Chiropractic charged them $175 for the office visit and $270 for x-rays. $445 total for what's supposed to be a "free" consultation. Absolutely absurd!! read more

I don't normally write reviews unless there is something really good or really bad that others may want to know before choosing a Co or service, but in this case, I am breaking my own rule. There are some really good things about True Chiropractic and some things that could use improvement. On the good side, it's great that they take X-rays and scans before adjusting the first time or after a long period between adjustments. This lets you know they are correctly evaluating how they can help and ensuring they won't accidentally cause harm before they adjust you. Some may complain about being unable to adjust on the first visit, but I find it refreshing that they take the better safe than sorry approach, which many chiropractors don't do. They accept many insurances which is great. They have lots of fancy equipment like massage chairs and other machines for patient use, which may be important to some people. I'm not a fan of the open beds with no privacy approach; a simple rolling screen between beds could solve this, but that is their business model, so if you don't mind having your adjustments viewed by everyone in the office, then who am I to complain? My biggest issue is being treated like a number on a conveyor belt, being rushed in and out without discussion or care to make you feel like a person. I recently went in and saw a Dr. I had not seen before. He did not even offer his name or ask anything about me, how I felt, or what I was there for. When I mentioned the technique he was using was causing a great deal of pain, he did not try to change techniques or even try to talk me through it if there wasn't another method he could try. In fact, he just ignored me. I tried to state why I was there and got nothing. When he was done, he just said, and now you're healed. He just dismissed me without checking in on how I felt or mentioning any after-action or follow-up. I politely asked his name and if I should have some follow-up. I'm not mentioning names because my intent is not to speak ill of someone, but rather to express from a customer perspective, what transpired and how it made me feel in hopes they read this and make some corrections. I'll give it one more try, but if the treatment is the same, I will ask for a refund on what I am paid ahead on and look elsewhere. read more
