This review is long over due. When I first called to make an appointment 3 years ago, I could barely raise my arm to my head to talk. My shoulder, back and hips were so out of whack from car accidents, sports injuries and standing with poor posture for so long. Now, 3 years later, I can still barely raise my arms above my shoulders. The only difference is now I am sore from playing Volley Ball, doing my Kettle Bells too much, yoga, spending too much time on the Elliptical etc. Dr. Dorris and her team gave me my body back. I had to move away a few months ago, and I can already tell I have been missing my adjustments. It is almost worth flying back just to have her crack my back, neck, ankle and what ever else needed to be adjusted. They're great! Long story short: My entire upper body was locked up. From my shoulder blades up was in a spasm. After one treatment and a night on the heating pad, the left side of my body completely released. Went back today for the right side and go back again in the morning. I started to have lower back and neck pain after my car accident, I got rear-ended by pickup truck in the freeway. My BMW got totaled. This place is amazing!!! I was suffering for two weeks from some bad head pressure causing me to have headaches and nausea. Me having severe anxiety, I was reluctant to try a chiropractor but I took the risk and it really paid off. Dr. Andrea made sure I had nothing to worry about. As a pregnant patient, I was very thankful for Dr. Andrea and her team. I went in a few times during the beginning of my pregnancy when I began having sciatic nerve pain and hip discomfort, and I was very happy with the results I received. Compared to other chiropractors I had seen in the past, Dr. Andrea is the most prepared to not only evaluate her patients, but also to treat them back to health. This is particularly because of the initial exam they run with an EMG machine they run to check your posture and where your weight is displaced throughout your spine. It's actually really cool looking! The staff also does a full run through of what to expect and also leave you post-visit exercises to help your improvement. They even watched my toddler when I went in and played with her to keep her occupied. It was very nice and thoughtful! Dr. Andrea herself is amazing. She is genuine and real, which makes her so approachable and friendly. She showed me my exact problem zones and how my body would change during pregnancy. I now see her post-partum and it's amazing to see how I have terrible posture! Luckily, she's helping me retighten my core, ease my back pain, and adjust my spine. I will definitely plan on continuing my care with Dr. Andrea and her team. Financially it can be a little pricey, but then again I think it's worth it for having the flexibility and ease I get every time I get my back adjusted. read more

When I signed up for the membership, the staff member assured me that I can cancel the automatic membership withdrawal any time as long as it's before the 1st of the month. I was definitely misinformed because when I requested to cancel it I was told that it has to be 30 days or at least 2 weeks prior to the next withdrawal date. A typical sales approach, they shove a bunch of papers for you to sign and tell you that that's what you signed for (in small font). You will be just another treatment card with $$ signs on it for them to sign off on. read more

Ok, so I have been in twice. I am a terrible patient I probably should go more often as it makes the Docs job even harder but that is another issue all together. Both times I have come away with great information about my issues (minor injuries and such) and left felling great and with tools to help myself. I had chronic knee pain sorted out after doing my prescribed homework when others had missed the real issue. Dr. Andrea is thorough and accurate, and I love her no BS demeanor. I don't feel any pressure to buy just solid recommendations on how to properly receive treatment and the best course of action. Not the best experience. I came in and the evaluation took much longer than I was expecting. My chiropractor at home has allllllllways been able to get everything to crack-EVERY time. I come in for 5 minutes and leave with my entire body feeling great, but on the first adjustment here, there was maybe one vertebrae that cracked. I could tell his methods were a bit different so I went in open minded, but after the first and second visit and only getting 2 cracks, I wasn't very impressed. I had a male chirpractor there and he was really nice, but he was unsuccessful in giving me the results I wanted-and needed. read more

If you have HMO insurance with chiropractic coverage, don't go. My neck, shoulder, back are painful. So I went there, took the exam. They told me I can only do one area adjustment for one visit with my insurance. But I confirmed with my insurance company, they said I can do multiple areas treatment for one visit. The next day I have to pay by myself because I don't feel comfortable. I asked my insurance company to call Dr. Dorris. Dr. Dorris just told the insurance company I have no pain, what I have done is wellness which is not covered by the insurance. I am going to switch to another provider. I don't want to pay by myself wi what's covered by my insurance. Update: My insurance works well with another provider. I am paying $1400 a month for a family of two. They just said my insurance is so cheap that it doesn't cover much. read more

Although, I work here, I have to say that Dr. Andrea and Dr. Jeremy are fabulous at what they do. My Husband sees Dr. Jeremy and my 11yr old daughter sees Dr. Andrea. I see them both. Great office if your hours match up with what they offer. I originally met up with the doctors at an event a few years ago at Balboa Park and saw them at their old location for rehab from an ankle injury and other alignment problems. Since then I've changed jobs and moved, but go to pilates right next to their new location. With a new injury, I returned to their care and was really happy with Dr. Andrea's assessment and treatment plan. I visited a few more times before going out of town for a week and when I returned things started to go south. The office was closed without any notice on the door and I found out later that they had adjusted business hours. The other doctor did not understand and did not want to offer the same treatment on my next visit, which I was able to wait on that visit for Dr. Andrea to get the right adjustment. I decided at that point to get on their monthly plan, which is fairly overcomplicated with billing in my opinion, at least for the startup. Things at work didn't allow for my visits over the next 10 days and now I'm about 10 days from the end of my billing month with 3 visits left that do not roll over. I was also told that I'm not allowed to book with my preferred doctor, which is not acceptable. Sorry to say, but I'm counting the days until I can cancel my 3 month obligation and return to an office that is more convenient. Having fluctuating hours, only two hours of business the entire weekend, not being able to select my doctor, and other factors don't add up for me. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for some time. I am a firm believer in the benefits of chiropractic care. After being diagnosed with MS April 2014, I found alternative treatment options. Along with regular exercise, healthy diet and yoga, Chiropractic care is one of them. I am determined to do all that I can to stay healthy and strong. So, I began marathon training and had regular adjustments. Dr. Andrea is very thorough and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle. Not only did she get my body physically on track, she offered a nutrition class which taught me great tips to incorporate into my diet and lifestyle. She also offers supplements which I still take daily. I ran my marathon in November 2014 and since then have ran 2 other full marathons and am currently training for one in January 2016. I don't think I could have done it injury free without these regular visits. My mri scans also showed no new lesions, so that is all great! 5 stars all the way! I started going to Dorris chiropractic 5 years ago. I hadn't slept all night because one of my ribs was misaligned and poking me in the lung. Dr Andrea quickly found the issue and adjusted me. I felt so much better - I could finally breathe normally. In the last 3 years I have become more physically active and Dorris chiropractic has helped me in those pursuits. My daughter is a fastpitch softball pitcher and was experiencing a lot of lower back pain. I took her to the doctor and they wanted to do an MRI and it was going to take 6 weeks to just get an appointment, that meant that she wouldn't of been able to play for roughly 11 weeks if you take into consideration the treatment/physical therapy that the doctor would prescribe. That obviously wasn't going to work because she was late in the season and the team needed her. I didn't think it was a skeletal issue because when I rubbed her back her spine wasn't sore. I was talking to a buddy of mine about her situation and he recommended Dr. Andrea. I immediately made an appt and Dr Andrea determined that she had sprained a muscle in her lower back that connected to her hip and that is what was causing the pain. After four appt's and a lot of crazy looking core exercises, Dr Andrea had my daughter back on the field in less then 4 weeks stronger then ever and feeling great! My daughter had to put in the time to do the exercises but Dr Andrea's diagnoses was right on the money! We live in Escondido so driving down to Mission Valley wasn't very convenient but for Dr's that are this thorough, take the time to know you and genuinely care....I would do it again in a heartbeat! I'm a fan because I go here way too much, but I don't have any other chiropractic experiences to compare this to. I believe they are on the basic/low tech end of the chiropractic spectrum. I guess I've heard of places that use more high tech machines to analyze your spine and/or warm/loosen you up before adjustment, not that I've been. The super nice receptionist always finds a spot for me on the schedule that day, usually at a convenient evening time. I prefer going here, than see a sports medicine doctor, who would just tell me to stop running, to soothe marathon related aches and pains. Despite chiropractors reputation for working on spines, Dr Jeremy and Dr. Andrea do quite a bit of soft tissue work and therapy exercises. They've gotten me through my hip bursitis and chronic tight muscle issues and any other ache or pain. It seemed like there were a lot of incidental things I needed to buy when I started, like 2 pairs of the right kind of running sneakers, classic crocs for wearing around the house, and arch- supporting work shoes, $80 compression capris for marathon event, foam rollers, etc. The building they are in is not overly impressive, but the practice does a good job of keeping their office fun looking and different every time. I do miss the Keurig machine though. read more

I have to give the highest rating to Dr. Andrea Dorris, because she helped my back to full recovery! Other chiros are going to 'crack your back' = great. However Dr. Andrea as a sports chiro is going to examine what is going on physiologically, listen to what your work or fitness requirements are, and devise a plan to help you meet your goals. Big Difference!! You have to understand, that my job requires that I carry a 175lb person in a fireman's carry for more than 50yds. This places extreme stress on the back, and it is not equally weighted across the body and back. When I came to her, my back had been injured so long I could barely jog, and could not carry anything on my shoulder over 15 lbs. Through a period of 6 months, Dr Andrea assessed what was going on in my back :tightness and convex thoracic spine, hips out of alignment, rigid cervical vertebrae, as well as weak abs. She systematically addressed each area, and also gave my physical therapy exercises (the real secret to getting your back better that no one really appreciates - its chiropractic and physical therapy exercises). To this point nothing else had worked. I was able to fully recover and perform the fireman's carry to standard - a huge huge improvement!! read more

I do not live in San Diego but I travel there a lot for work. I have never had a issue with scheduling, I mean come on they are open 6 days a week. You really cant beat that. I love the fact that it is a co treatment office and Dr. Andea and Dr. Jeremy as so up to date with every patient so it doesnt really matter who I see when I come in. The staff is great I always look forward to seeing the doctors and Adriana and Danielle whenver I come in. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST .. I can actually afford it !! If you throw out the great Membership , great packages and insurance, they are still hands down so affordable. I even refer my family there and they love it, yes it makes me slightly jelous they are there more than me but hey.. lol. I had my first visit with Dorris Chiropractic on Saturday 3.4.18. I went in not really knowing what to expect since I had never seen a chiropractor. The girls who work there Adriana and staff assured me nothing would be done without everything being explained to me and if I was still nervous about it they would take another avenue to make me feel better. I relaxed a bit after that. Dr. Andrea came in the room, introduced herself and broke everything down with a reason as to why I was feeling what I was feeling. I was blown away. A couple of quick, cool routine tests later I was actually excited about my adjustment. The treatment area is cool because It's a really relaxed environment and incorporates rehab after treatment. I put my stuff down and was greeted by the other Doctor in the practice (Dr. Jeremy) he asked how my tests went and said he was excited to treat me in the future since it is a co treatment office and welcomed me to their family like practice. They were not pushy and they structured a treatment plan for my pain. I was given an ice pack in case I was sore and by the time I was done I didn't realize how much better I was feeling. I also noticed Adriana and staff playing with babies as their parents were getting treated. I really did not know how I was going to pull away from my little ones but I know they will be in great hands. Dr. Jeremy and Dr. Andrea have the healing touch! They are both very knowledgeable in the human body! My son, a former high school athlete, has gone to their office for a couple of years off and on, and as the need arises. Without them he would not have been able to play football and lacrosse season after season. They helped him through hip, thigh and lower back injuries.
