TrueCare Dental/True Dental Care is a scam shop that uses high-pressure sales tactics to push unnecessary procedures in addition to bait-and-switching dentists on you. TrueCare Dental recommended I have a full-mouth deep cleaning, 5-7 fillings, and invisalign after a different dentist from the one I made my appointment with came into the room. Staff did not let me know I would be seeing a different dentist than the one with whom I made an appointment, which is an ethical breach in and of itself. TrueCare Dental also tried using high-pressure sales tactics on me, including the scam artist dentist challenging me by saying demeaning stuff like, "Well, if you can't afford it..." Fortunately I am not easily pressured. Went to two different dentists after to get second and third opinions, both of whom said I don't need any part of my mouth deep-cleaned (let alone a full mouth deep cleaning) and I do not need invisalign. I also only need one filling, not the six or seven TrueCare Dental insisted I needed. TrueCare Dental is a scam shop. Avoid at all costs. read more

Clean facility. A little small but that's real estate out here. I thought they did an okay job but ultimately stopped seeing them because I don't believe they have the patient's best interest at heart. I used to love going to the dentist because they always complimented how straight my teeth were for never having braces. When I went here, you would have thought not a single tooth of mine was straight. They really try to shove Invisalign down your throat even for people who don't need it. They made like a 3D model of my teeth to show me how I could benefit and like nothing moved. Plus Invisalign isn't covered by most insurances - why the hell do you think I would do that for such little benefit? They told me I had 4 cavities the first visit (the most I have EVER had I was shocked). I got them all filled, I was extra diligent for 6 months, and came back and they said I had two more. It was at this point I could tell they were doing whatever would make them the most money. I decided to see them in the first place because of their good yelp reviews, but after my appointment they asked me to leave them 5 stars on yelp so it was clear these are slightly biased. I feel bad for anyone who goes anywhere else for their dentistry needs. True Dental Care lives up to the name...and then some. All other dental clinics are fighting for second place. Maybe even 3rd. Before you even get to your appointment they're hooking you up with reminders so you don't accidentally double book yourself and have to choose between your dental health or an overpriced night out on the town. Speaking of town, if you live nowhere near Jersey City, but they take your insurance, you should still give yourself the privilege of being one of their patients. During your appointment they tell you the good, the bad,and the ugly in the nicest way possible and provide you with praise or education depending on your teeth and how many cavities you do or do not have. The place is high tech and you can tell they're using some military grade tech to get the job done. They even have televisions you can watch on the ceiling while you're getting the plaque scraped off of your lateral incisors. Netflix and Drill some would say. But I digress, onto the after your appointment : If you care about your teeth and being able to bite into a juicy well done vegan burger when you're in your 90s, this is the place to be. read more

I never enjoyed and loved going to a dentist's office before but I do here, at True Dental! Everyone is so very friendly and professional and the office is Immaculately organized and clean!! My overall experience is very good and the Dentist will always sit and go over everything with you before they do any work. They are very compassionate and respectful towards the patients concerns and questions. The pediatrics office is just as amazing and so very friendly and experienced. I highly recommend True Dental and definitely won't regret it!! I actually truly love going to my dentists appointment bc with the anxiety I have and in which they are aware of.. My last check up was in October. I was told a quick follow-up was important because I had some issues, so made an appointment for January. Then True Dental canceled my appointment 3 times in a row. Since when is going to the dentist pleasurable? I'm actually shocked. Came in for a routine cleaning and exam and I've never experienced such wonderful service. From the front desk, to the hygienist, to Dr. Dan, everyone was truly lovely. The office is SO nice and super high tech. I'm talking...TV on the ceiling. Awesome. They even give new patients a goody bag that has more than just a toothbrush in it...it has a thank you note and a custom travel mug. Mind blown. read more

I've taken my daughter here 3 times and nothing is wrong with the service - I also have a 3 year old so it's not like she's getting anything but a cleaning done. However, I came here the other day for her 6 month check up and they wanted to charge me $315 for the cleaning and the next cleaning. For a THREE YEAR OLD. I think it took 8 minutes total for them to clean her teeth. I asked how much would it be for just that day and not a future visit, and the receptionist told me $200. The last two times I had paid $130 (we don't have dental insurance). I asked her why it was so much and she told me the $130 was for a new patient promotion, which nobody has ever told me before. When I told her I'd just pay the $200 and not plan w future visit, all of a sudden she changed it and said she could honor the $130 this time. These people are just after your money and could care less about anything else. Now we will be taking our daughter to another practice. No thank you. read more

If I can give negative star I will. I got a crown at this dental office back in 2020. At first the temporary crown was so uncomfortable. They told me it was normal and the permanent one will be better. Then the permanent crown fell off within 6 months after it was placed. They fixed it. And the crown fell off again today! I don't know what's going on with this crown. Maybe the crown was not placed well into my mouth or the crown itself was not made well. Anyway I am not going back to this office again. Will try to find another dental office to get it fixed. Avoid this place at all cost!! read more

*The below review is my experience of Invisalign, True Dental Care and what worked best for me* With much of my face having to be covered by a mask and working from home, I decided to start my Invisalign journey in 2020 with True Dental Care. True Dental Care is a beautiful, new and vibrant dental surgery, with the loveliest staff and impeccable service. I've never been the biggest fan of going to the dentist (I have sensitive teeth, always saw the dentist as a chore and I was a little insecure of my smile due to my crooked bottom teeth); but after going to get a few fillings re-done and having my teeth cleaned I decided to ask about the various different options to straighten my teeth. Roll forward a few months (post peak of COVID) and I'm back in the chair (online health screenings, temp checks, everyone masked up, the smell of cleanliness etc.) speaking with Dr. Matt Penner about my options and getting my teeth scanned. I didn't really know what to expect, but that should never be a bother - every step along the way was explained, the finance options were made very simple (shocker, I know!) and the next step was to wait for my scans to come back, book an appointment to come back in, get these little buttons put on my teeth and collect my first 2 sets of trays. It was explained to me that I needed to wear the trays for c`22 hours a day, only drink clear liquids when I had them in (although a few rosés crept in), take them out when I eat etc. - the last thing I wanted was to wear the trays for less hours and the process time to increase, for my trays to become visible due to build up and for my teeth to get stained. For the first week this was tough, but then it became second nature and I lost a few pounds as added bonus as I wasn't snacking!!! I was expecting the trays to be painful - growing up my sister had braces and hers were always causing her pain, this was nothing like it. The best way to describe the feeling is just very tight for the first few hours of each new tray, not what I would describe as painful. The more you wear the less discomfort you feel. I was on calls all day wearing my trays and not one person guessed that I was wearing them - there were a few words I initially noticed I lisped with, but the more I got used to talking with them in the better it became. I did struggle a little with rubbing and mouth ulcers - I purchased some non-alcoholic CLEAR mouth wash and that got rid of the ulcers, and as for any areas that were rubbing... this may be a little strange, but I used a new nail file to file down any rough patches on the trays and it worked a treat. The first few weeks I was cleaning the trays with toothpaste, but I quickly learnt this was expensive and that the trays went a little dull. I did a little research and ended up cleaning my trays a natural soap (sounds gross, but I used a Method natural/clear and unscented soap). I put a small amount on a toothbrush and washed them that way - they felt so clean after, no dulling effect and no taste either. This wasn't suggested by True Dental Care, but worked perfectly for me. I went back to True Dental Care regularly to collect new trays, get updated scans, check-up on my progress, on occasion get new buttons added to my teeth and on one occasion to get a few teeth "shaved" (this may sounds horrendous, but for someone with mighty sensitive teeth I didn't feel it - its less than a millimeter that they shave and it helps all the teeth align properly). Each visit was quick, the appointments ran on time and all the staff were very friendly. The last appointment was to get final scans for my retainer which I will wear every night to help keep the teeth straight, remove the buttons, clean my teeth up and add a little bonding to chipped teeth. It has made such a difference to my confidence; I have been showing my new teeth off to everyone. The only down side of finishing the process is that I won't be going into the surgery so often to see the team! read more

Dr. Cohen truly makes going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. I've come in for several reasons, ranging from a cleaning to a root canal (okay, not enjoyable) and have been so impressed with the whole experience. The staff is so friendly, appointments actually start on time, everyone seems to actually love what they do, and Dr Dan is actually the best. I am going to start this post off by saying... I am a crazy mom. You know the type. I will travel hours for a doctor's appointment for my kid if I think that the best person to see my kid is hours away. I count myself lucky that I don't have to do that for my toddler's dentist as there is an amazing practice locally! Dr. Mila at True Dental is not only as skilled as they come, but she is gentle, patient, and attentive--and that's just with the parents! My daughter who is a few months shy of 2 has already chipped a tooth and had a cavity. These are both alarming situations for a relatively new mom, but I never questioned the care my daughter received with Dr. Mila. While we haven't seen other providers in the practice, I wouldn't hesitate to as the quality of care comes from the top down and the Cohen's definitely set a high standard at True Dental! We have visited True Dental Care for my daughter in January 2018. I still remember that I asked the front desk if they have already verified my insurance details. The woman at the front desk confirmed that everything was ok with my insurance. So, everything went fine with that visit. On November 2018, I received an email from True Dental Care saying a balance was due for the visit we made 10 months ago. That was surprising and shocking because I changed my employer and moved to a different city in between that period. After a couple of emails and phone calls back and forth, I figured out they were claiming with incorrect insurance details. By that time I did not have my old insurance ids and I had to call my former colleagues to figure out the insurance's customer service number. (Because delta dental has different customer service almost for each state or region). I updated the correct insurance details and asked them to claim again. After a month I received another email from True Dental saying the claim was rejected. I have no option now than paying the bill from my pocket because of the deadline (12 months from the date of service) was already over as of today to make the claim with the insurance company. read more

Great dental practice. We've been going to True Care Dental for almost a year now and Dr. Mila is excellent with kids, she's very patience and have great manners with the kids and parents. Both my kids needed orthodontic services, one child more complicated than the other, and between Dr Mila and her husband they proposed a treatment that is giving great results. The wait time is very short which is a plus for us. The office is impeccable and the staff is really friendly. They also participate in some charities throughout the year, like sending Halloween to the troops overseas and collecting used toys. !although is not dentist related, that, I really like! read more
