Claimed they wanted to give me good results and couldn't so they did refund my deposit. I originally met James a few weeks ago when he came over to give me a quote for a full front deck/stairwell replacement. My stairwell has some wood rot and damage from past hurricanes. He was nice and gave me a quote. I then asked if he would consider just replacing the wood rot and damaged parts of the stairwell, remove all the pain and then give the entire deck/stairwell a full coat of dark stain (to hide the differences in the wood (new vs old wood) and a couple coats of a clear protectant. He agreed and sent me a quote. I then asked for some modifications to the quote/contract to include start and completion dates, exactly what he would do and they types of wood he would use for repair. I even asked him to put in a provision for a 10% bonus for the entire price of the project if he finishes early or on time. All of that he agreed to and I paid the 50% deposit. He had seen the job and agreed and I had a contract. On the start date, he showed up with 2 workers and they started. We had an 8 day window to complete the project because of a party at our home, which he knew about well before the start date . He was going to remove the paint by sand blasting first, or so I thought. After 20 minutes he knocked on the door and said he would have to restart the project after the party because removing the paint was going to take longer than expected. I told him I was uncomfortable with the last minute change in plans and asked if he could just work to remove all of the paint then stop until after the project. The wood already looked crappy from the peeling paint and just having all the wood exposed wouldn't be any worse. James continued to say it wouldn't look good and for me to trust him. I said ok and we agreed for him to start after the party. A short time later, the same day he started and then stopped working because the job would be hard, he offered to just replace all of the deck/stairwell (the original project) at a discounted price from his original quote. I thanks him for his offer but declined and said I wanted to stick with the strip, repair and stain plan. He then started saying he couldn't do the job and have the product look nice and that he wanted me to be happy. I believe that was a lie and a cover up because he, or workers, didn't want to do the job. James then started blaming his boss for the reason to stop, which seemed like another lie to me. I had a signed contract and a paid deposit. I could've held him to doing the work but decided to just end the relationship and find someone who is better. Now I see there is a reason this company has no reviews.

Well our experience with Leggett Roofing has been nothing but a shit show. The first day they arrived they proceeded to use my husbands personal truck as a tablet they were sitting there things all over his truck and laying all over his truck as well. When my husband went out to say something to them the guy said no english and walked away. So my husband contacted our sales rep Zack to inform him of what had happened. He apologized and said he would have it handled. Well the crew workers did absolutely nothing differently they continued to lay on his truck and put shit all over it. They completely trashed out yard. Whatever they cleaned it up. But they did not clean up all there food and pizza crust that was thrown all over my yard. We took our dog out to the bathroom and she started to eat the food and then was throwing up as she doesnt get human food so it upset her stomach. They came back and still threw food in the yard. We then emailed zach to explain what all was still happening. He then tells me well the owner came out to take pictures of the dry in and said everything looked great. Well for one how would the owner know to look for the food in the yard the destroyed landscaping that they continued to step on, throw garbage bags on top of and drag ladders across when all we discussed the first time talking to zach was that they were all over my husbands truck. We did email zach that evening after finding the damaged landscaping, the food all over the yard which once everyone had left for the evening. So no way would the owner know about this. Also why did the owner not knock on our door to apologize for the truck situation? Zach then emails us the dry in photos taken. Well in those photos you can see in some of them some of the damaged landscaping. Zach then wanted proof. Thank goodness for my security camera and phone to capture proof. Because you know I am magically making all this up. And once we sent that no one would respond to us at all. We even stopped by to pay one of our invoices and voiced our concerns and again nothing back. But they wasted no time getting that invoice out so they can get paid. I then reached out on the customer service email hoping to get a response. Which I did the owner said sorry and that his crew said they never did any of that and to send pictures if it happens again. Well guess what it happened again and I had pictures to provide the times they did prior to emailing him and pictures that they did it again even after the email. Because Tony like picture proof of everything which I happily supplied to him. They also took the time to come back out and take our remailing roofing supplies we paid for. Tony said he would deliver them to us personally which he did. He dropped them off and and left never stopped to ask us if things had gotten better ect. Our flat roof was also not done correctly and started to leak in the later evening. And we could not get a hold of anyone. So I found his cell phone number on the permit for the roof I then called him he answered I told him what was going on he said do you have pictures I said yes and then we got " disconnected" and when I tried calling him back he would never answer. My husband called from his phone and guess what he answered. He said sorry and said he would have his roof technician out first thing in the morning and guess what that did not show up till around 1:30pm which I have time stamped on my cameras. Also when we noticed the leaking my husband got on the roof and it looked like a pool up there. So my question is when the guys came out that same day to fix the shingles they left hanging over the edge of the roof why did they not address the issue then. Because when they came out it had already rained and my whole yard was flooded. Which again was on my time stamped camera. So they got on the roof after the rain had happened and it was a pool up there and yet not one person stepped up to address this problem then. There idea of making it right on my landscaping damages is $150. That does not even cover the mulch that will need to be replaced from it being washed out because they kept running out of supplies and it has taken them forever to get things done. Tony then offered $250 and said "I hope you are willing to come to an agreement so we both can move on." There lack of communication is awful. There crew has absolutely no respect for your property. They did come back out and fix the flat roof and paint the ceilings. Roof was leaking again. They came out and looked at it said it was not on their end but did fix it anyways. The soffit guys were absolutely amazing, kind and respectful. But overall it was a nightmare experience. Thank god we were off the first week of them starting. Save yourself the headache and damages to your yard and find someone else

Overall a bad experience…read more We chose Commercial Residential Aluminum (CRA) for positive experience 10 years ago, with good CRA lanai cage still on our property. But this lanai extension and patio paver project was poorly managed administratively. This caused us issues and extra work/cost. The project was slow to finalize contract taking weeks; review delayed as CRA has e-mail domain issues; needed to correct several errors they made. Coordination for the patio paver work was weak. We had to direct obvious items ourselves, including connecting / continuing existing drainage (that was part of contract) and removing/reconnecting obsolete drain pipes; (all part of contract). Most concerning, CRA ordered the wrong pavers: initially attempted to place that blame to us, and only acknowledged the mistake when proven otherwise, our grey color choice in writing twice. This color issue finding occurred on paver installation day - 3 weeks into the project. We were told correcting the paver color would delay the project another 3-4 weeks for new paver delivery (an unknown). This was rough to hear after the job had already been put on hold by CRA merely because we asked to be included in any cost change requests. Trust in how they'd treat us now was low. CRA putting our job on hold caused distrust. Left us little choice but to proceed under pressure with the wrong color material. (I.e. Duress; wrong decision!) There was also no meaningful accountability for this paver error. We incurred significant out-of-pocket costs for trying to fix their error by staining, sealing, and the labor to correct the pavers. No compensation or acknowledgment was provided in the end. CRA denied helping or paying the labor needed to do the project (that's the real cost). But glibly advised they'd pay for the bottle of stain. These communications have been awkward to say the least. To elaborate on CRA change-order handling: Our project was paused for a week (put "on hold" by the office manager until we Docusigned agreement to pay) solely because we justifiably requested to be included in any change order discussions / cost increases and receive proper documentation. They states ours is a "retail job" and we did not warrant being included; charged an additional $450 related to the footer digging / stump hole filling work that was double billing. Disappointing because prior guidance from CRA was that the trench could remain as-is. We had already a paid other contractors for this added work so did pay double. We asked for a copy of that $450 invoice or payment of that invoice. They denied providing it to us which is suspect. The final bill has been sent to us by CRA with out this. Paver install was via a subcontractor too I found issues with footer to paver connections that would have caused large delays if not seen. Later undercut landings I had to repair myself. We waited for a week for the paver team to finish the sanding pavers (it took 45 only minutes); but this delay negatively impacted other work we tried to accomplish such as the color issue - not allowing us to get labor help. To their credit, the aluminum cage installation itself was well done - final inspection quality was lacking. It required follow-up work was done well. DO FULL INSPECTIONS! Overall, this project involved poor communication, lack of coordination, and questionable billing practices. Operationally the team did follow through swiftly to address the inspection concerns and minor issues observed after job completion and we appreciated that very much. Not the level of professionalism we expected. Rating 2 is based on not trusting the company, being boxed in by CRA on decisions that we ultimately regretted. It should be a 1. But the ops team tried hard. Final: CRA just wanted their money. HOW they operated seemed less important than getting STUFF DONE.
