My partner and I visited this restaurant on a whim after running a few errands at the mall. The service was fantastic and we also happened to get the Happy Hour which gave us $3 off of the dumplings and $4 off of the pizzas. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately. My favorite item was the edamame dumplings. So unique and delicious. The sauce it comes in and the chili garlic sauce on the side was 10/10 soo good. We also tried the Korean glass noodle bowl with blackened chicken. Very delicious! The bar and restaurant ambiance overall was very relaxed and cozy. The bar had the FIFA World Cup playing and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. A Sweet Little Nightcap in Buckhead Sometimes you just need dessert. After dinner, my friend and I were looking for something sweet and wandered over to True Food Kitchen in Buckhead. It was an easy walk from Hotel Colee and the Lenox Square area, and we lucked out with a beautiful Atlanta evening and a table outside. We shared the Spiced Carrot Cake, and it was delicious. Moist, nicely spiced and topped with a luscious vanilla mascarpone mousse, candied oranges and walnuts. The mascarpone was especially good -- creamy without overwhelming the cake. Exactly what I wanted. We also had an affogato and an Espresso Martini, made with organic vodka, espresso liqueur and organic espresso. Dessert and coffee with a cocktail thrown in for good measure? Yes, please. Service was perfectly adequate -- friendly, easygoing and just what we needed for a casual dessert stop. And our bartender was pretty darn cute, so really, what's not to love? The outdoor seating made it even better. Relaxed, comfortable and a lovely place to linger over something sweet and a cocktail on a beautiful Atlanta evening. Went here with some friends recently for a late lunch time meal. The food was pretty good but we didn't love everything that we tried. Service was good but it is a bit expensive, perhaps not surprising given how it is adjacent to the Lenox mall and this area. True Food is a great option for family's (they have some nice healthy options for a change for kids and a fun little activity placemat) and for vegetarians. I like how they have some less common veggies incorporated into many of their dishes. Our favorite part of the meal were the appetizers. We tried the charred cauliflower (delicious), the assorted veggies with the hummus (pretty good but kind of surprisingly spicy which wasn't as good for the kids), and the edamame dumplings (delicious)! For mains one our kids got a burger and the other had the chicken teriyaki, which were both ok but not great. I think my son was expecting more of the teriyaki flavor. Recently, relocated back to Georgia to be nearer to my parents as I am an only child, and they are both getting up there in age at 75 and 84. He put it in a big plastic zip box and got on a scooter. Long story short, the place wasn't packed. A few patrons filing in. The weather was nice. I saw the host moving around a lot chatting with another employee about open umbrellas or something... I assumed it was something for outdoor dining maybe. The wait wasn't too long. When my order came, everything was in the bag including the side of veganaise I requested. The only problem is once we got home and situated to enjoy our food....my burger was darn near raw!!! Not rare but raw. Nothing to be done but cook it. We live 39 miles south of TF way down in Newnan. We did call and speak with a manager. Additionally, we got a turkey burger, 2 different salads, Brussels, Cauliflower, mushroom pizza and a few other items veggies, dip, grilled chicken side for my carnivore other half. My husband went here with some coworkers a few weeks ago so he wanted me to check it out too. Big size restaurant with inside & outside dining. We came around lunch time but we were still seated right away and the service was fast. We both ordered from the True Trio lunch menu that comes with a drink, main dish & a pairing which is a soup or salad for $19.50 which most of the meals outside of this lunch menu was $19 or more so made sense to order from this Trio menu with the drink & pairing included. I got the Mediterranean wrap + seasonal market salad. The salad was good but the wrap was very messy to eat. It could be due to too much sauce in the wrap or simply due to the way the sandwich is wrapped: it was kept open at the bottom. Picture attached. So I was in town a few weeks ago visiting and a friend suggested this place. Before we even sat down, the hostess acted like she barely wanted to seat us and looked at the server to do it, until he eventually looked back at her to do it. This alone already started things off on the wrong foot and I wished we left then. Once we were seated, the hostess offered us water, but then never came back to our table. Another waiter had to ask if we had been served and we stated that she said she was bringing us water, but that was 10 MINUTES ago. Another waiter had to track down somebody to wait on our table. The server that was upfront finally came over and took our order. The fries were the highlight of the meal, which says a lot. I ordered a pasta dish and it was lukewarm and bland. The sauce was sitting at the bottom of the plate, so I had to basically mix the sauce in myself which was insane. Once we were finished with our meal, we waited almost 20 mins until we had to go upfront to ask somebody about where our server was with our check. I don't know if people left their brains at home at night or just didn't care. Maybe both? But this was by far the worst dining experience I've had in Atlanta. For my entrée, I got the burger with mushrooms and onion and instead of a side salad I got the mashed potatoes. Food: I had the teriyaki quinoa bowl with chicken. It was very yummy! The vegetables were all cooked well and the flavor was great. Everything was sauced evenly and the chicken was not dry at all. Placed on top was an avocado with brown bits which leaves me to wonder how long it had been left out, and it looked a little unappealing. I also had the bright eyes drink which was a beautiful, deep red from the beets. It had a really nice flavor, not super sweet and it tasted like fresh juice. Also included was some organic spinach, along with the traditional ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. The portion size was just the right amount to be filling without feeling weighted down by pasta. The top had parts that were browned nicely and crispy. Drizzled along the sides was pistachio pesto. The lasagna itself was great as it was, but mixing in some of the pesto with each bite really added another special touch. The butternut squash pizza was good, but not great. The crust was uneven in terms of consistency so some bites were better than others. The lemon almond ricotta was good, but when you add in the onions, organic kale and raisins, the combination just didn't seem to work together as well as expected. Beer selection is very limited. They seem to favor wines and cocktails. Service was good. Decor is quite nice. We'll go back to this chain again when we are somewhere where they have a restaurant location just to try some other things and because it is sometimes hard to get good healthy food in chain restaurants. read more

This restaurant has a lot more locations than I knew, but after an unhealthy Saturday, I wanted to go healthy on Sunday. We started with three lemon blueberry muffins. I think we had 1.5 of them and saved the rest for later. I had the Rancher's hash with over easy eggs (I was not doing the recommended sunny side), roasted sweet potatoes, roasted red peppers, lots of grass-fed steak, white cheddar, avocado, cherry tomatoes, charred onions, charred scallion salsa, and sourdough toast. It tasted really sweet to me at first, but then I realized I was having sweet potatoes. No wonder. But really, there was a lot of meat in it and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. And thick sourdough always helps for dipping any remaining sauce at the bottom of the bowl. OMG where do I even begin with True Food Kitchen and the absolute legend*that is Darren, our server?! Let me tell you, Darren is BEYOND AMAZING and totally AWESOMESAUCE!! Our 8-year old preferred the cheese pizza which she thoroughly enjoyed, and it is pretty large size for a child.
