I received a healing today from John which combined Shamanism and Qi Gong. I have received lots of…read moretypes of bodywork and Qi Gong over the years but this was by far the best healing I have ever received. I don't quite know how to put into words what happened. It involved finding stuck energy in various parts of my body, singing, bringing breath to those areas and most importantly learning tools that I can bring back into my everyday life. This description is of course like trying to capture a photo of a moment that can't quite be captured. I feel lighter. John is the real deal shaman. If you have something going on that seems stuck, both physical or emotional (of course they are related), you should give this a try. I have wanted someone to work on my psoas area for years because I know it holds trauma, I felt not only glad that someone finally knew where to work but also safe. I have also received Ayruvedic counseling from Cherie and she is very passionate about her healing art. She truly cares. She takes the time to really assess your dosha and give you suggestions for making these changes. She also makes the best Ghee and will teach you how. She also takes the time to follow up on you as you incorporate these changes into your routine. These two are not to be missed. I am in the healing field and will send many people their way.

She offered me some of her amazing homemade ghee which I am loving and using every day. After the consultation I moved into the amazing sacred space John had created with candles, sage, and a very comfy massage table. John is a very intuitive qi gong healer and has a deep innate sense of how energy moves and shifts in the body. I felt a connection to organs in my body I didn't realize I was so disconnected to. The two of them work together symbiotically to create an authentic healing and grounding experience. I felt more taken care of then I have every experienced from other alternative medicine practitioners. Thank you so much for your nurturing and kindness and for helping empower me to take better care of myself.

Seh also wrote me a personal Happy Birthday card and had it hand decorated by one of her daughters and she hung a big birthday balloon banner in the studio for me. She treats me better than my own family! Taichi has a diagnostic phase; different than yoga. During the warmup phase the movement drills she teaches you allows you to diagnose where in the body you have less strength and flexibility. You can also detect loss of symmetry in balance. Very different than other forms of exercise. She also teaches you how to work on specific problem areas related to today's lifestyle like upper shoulders and lower back. These progressions are very different than traditional western based cardio and weight lifting exercise. Can develop a monitoring of your own body ad correlate it with the amount you sleep to tune your health levels. I can't get that by doing more miles on the treadmill. Very unique and talented individual. One in a million. She has world class talent; taught live in Chinese TV to millions of people and was practicing since 4. If you grew up in China you have seen he on TV. Incredible person. Polar opposite of the male powerful western martial arts instructor. Can't believe someone like this exists, very rare. Excellent teacher. Never met someone with this much range; able to customize to different groups so effortlessly. Her bio shows 20+ years of teaching experience and it shows in the sessions. She gave us 2 separate demos. Looks like what you see in the martial arts movies. When she throws a punch, the transition from standstill to fast motion punch is breathtaking. Can't replicate that on movies. They add sound effects which isn't the same as experiencing it in real life. The physical displacement and pace of the movement is not something most people can replicate, looks different when she does it. Definitely a special person. Worth the in person visit. From the awards she has won she is as famous in taichi as is Steph Curry in basketball. Very interesting. Not just the physical talent which makes a champion. Also maturity, mental toughness, and being a better person are all tools which are needed to be the best in the world. Many similarities to what Steph is like today. She is a world champion in what teaches and has won many competitions https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E5%90%B4%E9%98%BF%E6%95%8F/4753116 Incredible!!!

I decided to see the young man to whom she transferred her business and he gets less than 1-star from me. First, I exchanged 8 text messages with him before he identified that he was NOT Catherine Burns! Already a little suspect. Then when I was explaining why I had come in, he proceeded to mansplain to me why my heart rate might be elevated, that if I was concerned I should see my primary care physician, and how to take my blood pressure at home. During the treatment, while I was in the room by myself "relaxing", he was in the next room making a commotion (it sounded like those cupping cups being removed and thrown into a bin: crash, bang, clatter!) After he removed the needles and left me to collect myself, I felt a pain in my hand. There was a lump that looked like half a hard-boiled egg under my skin! When I pointed it out to him, and asked if there was anything I should be looking out for that might indicate things were getting worse, and also asked if there was anything I should do like ice or heat, the only response I got was that it was a hematoma and it was fine and it would resolve in about a day. No advice, no compassion, no bedside manner throughout the entire appointment! He did send me a text to check on me 2 days later. After I gave him an update, he continued to tell me how common this was, to which I responded that in the 40 years I've received acupuncture, and across my friends and family who receive acupuncture, we have never seen this before! To which he condescendingly asked whether any of us were medical professionals and then texted me NIH articles about the side effects of acupuncture. Then he asked how to invoice me! WOW!!! The nerve! Definitely NEVER going back! So - anyone know a good acupuncturist???
