Dr gorgani listened to my full history and was empathetic and offered rehab exercises that made the most sense.

I highly recommend Dr. Tediana Torrens at Peninsula Integrative Medicine in Palo Alto. Dr. Torrens…read moreis patient, thoughtful, and truly listens. She offers practical suggestions that actually work, and she takes the time to look for the root cause rather than just treating symptoms. I had been dealing with an illness for 10 years that traditional Western medicine specialists had not been able to solve. Dr. Torrens was relentless in trying to figure it out and she did! I have not felt this good in years! What I appreciate most is that she understands there is a place for both functional medicine and traditional Western medicine. She usually recommends a functional, natural-first approach, but when she sees an issue that needs to be addressed more quickly, she is not afraid to integrate conventional medicine in the treatment plan. When she does so, she will include natural remedies to help with side effects and to support the body during treatment. In my experience, functional medicine can sometimes look at the body through a wider lens, including specialty testing and approaches that may reveal patterns not always captured by standard medical testing. Dr. Torrens brings all of that together with patience, intelligence, and persistence. There is room in everyone's medical care for both traditional Western medicine and functional medicine. When used together, they can be incredibly powerful. Dr. Torrens is an excellent example of that.

All of the parts work together as an integrated whole. That's the physical part, and Tony is great at it! But I call him a visionary because he sees the whole person. He sees who you are, what you are carrying from the past and how he can help you let go of what you don't need anymore. As Tony works with you, the stuff just melts away. You feel lighter, more grounded, more connected. You also gain awareness of what happens to your body as you experience the stress, pain - and joy of life. This awareness enables you to maintain the balance over many years; the work lasts! I'm grateful that I've experienced Tony's work. As a massage therapist, I've experienced a lot of bodywork over the past 9 years. Tony's work has been profound, effective and life changing. For me, the connection to ground and feeling more rooted in my life has resulted in a feeling of safety which has led to a greater freedom to experience connection to spirit. I love the physical effects of being balanced and upright and I love the way my spirit shines forth.

NOTHING compares to Anthony and his abilities. I'm what people call a mystery case. I get shooed away and sent home with pain killers. Anthony however took my case head on and has changed my life. I am extremely active and am a devoted athlete. I can't live without exercise. Anthony is the only person who has understood my passion and is able to help me continue doing what I love. He is extremely knowledgable, is passionate with his work and won't finish a session till my pain subsides. Bonus points: he's funny :) ! Miracle worker.

My work insurance changed and I've recently switched to Kaiser. My experience so far with Kaiser…read morehas made me realize how poorly I was served by Stanford Family Practice. First thing you need to know--it will take months--yes, literally months--to get an appointment. When I reacted in disbelief, I was told unapologetically "Stanford in a teaching facility our doctors are only in a couple of days a week". Seeing patients is not the priority of this center. Second thing to know--you will get mysteriously charged additional copays months after your appointment. It turns out that the doctors do not charge copay by appointment, but by "topic". When I questioned the additional copay, I was told I must have asked the doctor a question unrelated to what my appointment was schedule for so each additional question can be charged a separate copay. Are you kidding me? Finally, and most importantly, again Standford is a teaching hospital--if you require surgery, or treatment, I highly advise that you ask that the interns/students do not work on you. I did not, and I physically paid dearly for it!!

First, I want to correct something another reviewer said. He said it takes months to get an…read moreappointment. In the fifteen years I've been going there, I've almost always gotten an appointment within a week. Even better is that they recently started offering same-day appointments. You only have to make an appointment if there's one specific doctor you Just call first thing in the morning and you'll likely get in that day. Both Dr. Richard Lee (who sadly is no longer there) and now Dr. Crump have given me first-class treatment. I've always been treated well there. When was very open to alternative therapy for getting my blood pressure down. Thanks to his guidance and openness, I'm now off my hypertension medication completely! But the appointment that stood out most for me was when I fell and was in insane amounts of ankle pain. Dr. Crump examined it and said that it was at worst a hairline fracture. I asked if he should x-ray it. His response put a smile on my face. He said, "We could do an x-ray, but the treatment would be the same." In today's broken fee-for-service medical industry, it was refreshing to have a doctor who wasn't suggesting unnecessary procedures to get paid more by insurance companies. In short, I've always gotten first-class treatment from Stanford Family Practice and will be going there as long as possible.

That said, I want to share a warning for others: this practice breaks up what many consider a routine check-up into separate parts. Labs are ordered after the initial visit. Once the labs were done, my child received a message with the results attached, which mentioned "some abnormalities" but didn't explain them or their urgency. The message asked to schedule a follow-up appointment to review the results and noted that this follow-up visit would be billed separately as an office visit. While this billing information was included, young adults like my child may not fully understand the financial implications of a "separately billed office visit," which led to a surprise bill of over $250. The follow-up call lasted only 10-15 minutes and mostly involved general advice such as exercise, less sugar, that could have been shared in a message. For comparison, I also had labs done following my own initial visit that day and received detailed advice by message without being asked to schedule a separate appointment. It felt like the process was handled differently for my child, who is still learning to manage their own healthcare. I believe Dr. Rajput cares about her patients, but better clarity about billing and follow-ups would be helpful, especially for young adults. If you decide to see her, be sure to ask about fees before your visit.
